Parallel Configuration
If your printer does not have a network interface card, use the standard
Bi-Tronics parallel interface.  The parallel interface will transmit data to
the printer quickly; however, it is not as fast as a network interface card,
and is limited to being no more than 10 feet from the host system (for
example, a PC or workstation) because of the length constraint of the cable.

Modular I/O Configuration
Your HP Color LaserJet 5 printer comes equipped with a modular I/O slot.
A modular I/O interface card can be plugged into that slot to increase the
number of interfaces available to you.
