4. Turn the printer around, and open rear cover 1.
5. Pull out rear cover 2.
6. Remove the cover inside the back of the printer.

7. Slide out the two used maintenance rollers, and remove them.
8. Insert two new maintenance rollers until they click into place.
Note:
Insert the maintenance rollers by rolling them so that you can insert them smoothly.
9. Reattach the cover inside the back of the printer.
10. Hold up the maintenance roller for the paper cassette by rolling it up, and then remove it.

11. Install the new maintenance roller in the paper cassette.

Hold down the maintenance roller firmly.
13.
Insert rear cover 2, close rear cover 1, and then insert the paper cassette.
14. Turn on the printer, select Setup>Maintenance>Maintenance Roller Information>Reset Maintenance
Roller Counter, and then select the paper cassette in which you replaced the maintenance rollers.

1. Remove the new maintenance rollers from their package.

The maintenance rollers for the paper cassette 1 and paper cassette 2 to 4 are 
different. Check the direction
of arrow on the center of the maintenance rollers, and make sure the maintenance rollers are the ones for
paper cassette 2 to 4. If you attach the wrong rollers, the printer may not feed the paper.
❏Be careful not to stain the surface of the maintenance rollers. If the dust collects on the surface of the

4. Turn the printer around, and then open the printer's rear cover.
5. Remove the screws by a screwdriver and remove the cover on the rear of inside the printer.

Conserving Black Ink when the Black Ink Is Low (for
Windows Only)
When black ink is running low and there is enough color ink remaining, you can use a mixture of color inks to
create black. You can continue printing while preparing a replacement black ink supply unit.
This feature is only available when you select the following settings in the printer driver.

❏Quality: Standard
❏EPSON Status Monitor 3: Enabled
