    print quality hasdeclined andthenozzle checkpattern indicates cloggednozzles, youcanclean the
     print
    head. Usethenozzle checkpattern todetermine whichcolors needcleaning. Youcansave inkby
     cleaning
    onlyselected colors(control panelonly).
     Note:
    Youcannot cleantheprint head ifan ink cartridge isexpended, andmay notbeable toclean it
     when
    acartridge islow. You must replace thecartridge first.

    Press theupordown arrow button toselect oneofthe following:
     •
    To check forclogs followed byan automatic cleaning,selectCheck andClean Nozzle andpress
     the
    right arrow button. Pressthedown arrow button toselect Yesandpress theOK button tostart.
     •
    To select thespecific nozzles forcleaning, selectSelect Nozzles andpress theright arrow button.
     Press
    theupordown arrow buttons toselect thecolor(s) thatneed cleaning, andpress theOK
     button
    tostart.
     •
    To clean allnozzles, selectAllNozzles andpress theright arrow button.
     6.
    Select oneofthe following asthe cleaning strengthlevel:
     •
    For afirst cleaning, selectNormal .
     •
    Ifnozzles arestillclogged afterthree normal levelcleanings, selectHeavy .
     7.
    Press theOK button tostart thecleaning cycle.
     When
    thecleaning cycleisfinished, thepower lightstops flashing andaconfirmation screen
     appears.
    
    Caution:
    Neverturnoffthe product duringacleaning cycleoryou may damage it.
     8.
    Select Nozzle Checkandpress theright arrow button.
     9.
    Press theOK button.
     The
    nozzle pattern prints.
     10.
    Check theprinted pattern tosee ifthere aregaps inthe lines.
     Note:

    may need toperform aPowerful Cleaning fromtheAdministrator menu.

    To clean allnozzles, selectAllNozzles andpress theright arrow button.
     •
    To select specific nozzles forcleaning, selectoneofthe nozzle colorcombinations andpress the
     right

    Press thedown arrow button toselect Yestostart thecleaning. Thecleaning cantake upto37
     minutes.
    
    8.
    Press theOK button tostart thecleaning cycle.
     When
    thecleaning cycleisfinished, thepower lightstops flashing andaconfirmation screen
     appears.
    
    Caution:
    Neverturnoffthe product duringacleaning cycleoryou may damage it.
     9.
    Print another nozzlecheckpattern toview theresults ofthe cleaning.
     If
    nozzles arestillclogged, turnoffthe printer andleave itoff overnight. Ifnozzles arestillclogged after
     some
    time,contact Epsonforsupport.

     Before
    youalign theprint head, notethefollowing:

    Alignment variesdepending onthe loaded media.Aligntheprint head using themedia onwhich you
     want
    toprint andselect thecorrect papertypeasthe Paper Typesetting.

    Run anozzle checkbefore youalign theprint head. Ifthere areany gaps inthe nozzle checkpattern,
     clean

     3.
    Doone ofthe following:

    Windows: AccesstheWindows Desktopandright-click theproduct iconinthe Windows taskbar.

    your product isnot properly aligned,selectadifferent alignment methodandrepeat theprocess. If
     your
    printer stillisnot properly aligned,performamanual headalignment.

    Bi-D 2-color alignseachcolorforbi-directional printingbasedonLight Cyan andVivid Light
     Magenta.
    Youshould choose thisoption second.
     •
    Bi-D Allaligns eachcolorforbi-directional printingbasedonallcolors. Youshould choose this
     option
    lastifyou arenotsatisfied withtheprevious adjustment results.
     8.
    Press theOK button.
     The
    alignment sheetprints.
     Note:
    When aligning oncut sheet paper, thealignment sheetisprinted acrossmultiple pages.Once
     the
    first sheet prints, loadthenext piece ofpaper.
