Settings Customizeyourdevicesettings Your BlackBerry device is designed to provide you with extensive customization and control. You can take it out of the box and get started, but you can also tailor and optimize your device for your needs. Get acquainted with the options and discover more about what your device can do. 1.On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen. 2.Tap Settings. 3.Tap the item that you want to customize. Turnonautomaticupdatesforyourdevicesoftware When a software update for your BlackBerry device is available and your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, software updates are automatically downloaded and installed on your device. When this feature is turned on, you arenht notified when an update starts installing, but you may be asked to restart your device to complete the installation. 1.On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen. 2.Tap Settings > SoftwareUpdates. 3.Tap . 4.Turn on the AutomaticallyDownloadandInstallSoftwareUpdates switch. RestoreyourdevicetoitsfactorydefaultsettingsusingBlackBerryLink If you restore your BlackBerry 10 device to its default settings, BlackBerry Link deletes all of the data and third-party applications from your device. Any IT policies that are applied to your device are also deleted. After you restore your device to its default settings, you can run the setup application on your device to set up the device again. Before you begin, you should back up your data so that you have a copy of the data on your computer. Restartorresetyourdevice If your BlackBerry device is running slower than usual or not responding, turning off and turning back on your device might help to solve the problem. Chargeyourdevice Before you start using your BlackBerry device, you should charge it because the battery that came with your device isnht fully charged. To maximize your use of this type of battery, when possible, do the following: tAvoid using your device while iths charging to help it charge faster. tCharge your device often, even when the battery charge isnht low. tAvoid charging, using, or storing your device in extremely hot or cold places, such as on a vehicle dashboard. tAvoid leaving your device turned off with a low battery power level for an extended period of time. tIf your device has a removable battery and you arenht using your device for more than a few days, partially charge the battery. You can then remove the battery and store it in a dry place at room temperature to conserve battery power.
