Hold the flex cable in place with your finger and use another finger to apply pressure to the 2. cable to secure it to the foam, as shown by the arrow. If there isn’t enough adhesive left on the foam to securely hold the cable, apply Kapton tape, as shown below.

MacBook Pro Take Apart — Display Bezel 17 5 Procedure Important: To prevent alignment issues, do NOT loosen or remove clutch screws to the bezel. • Avoid twisting the bezel and do not apply uneven pressure as it can be bent out of • alignment. With all preliminary steps performed, the bezel is the remaining part. 1. Replacement Procedure If reinstalling the bezel Leave residual adhesive on the bezel’s interior. Remove any clumps of adhesive. 1. Avoid pressure on the back of the panel. Holding the sides of the display panel and the sides of the bezel, carefully align the panel over the inner edges of the bezel. MacBook Pro Troubleshooting — General Information 17 9 General Information Wire and Flex Cables With the very thin enclosure design and dispersed circuit board, a large number of flex cables are used in this computer. In addition, there are a variety of wire cable harnesses as well. Many of these cables carry multiple types of signals. Here is a list of the cables and the signals that run across them. If you notice a group of functions not working, it is likely that the cable is not properly inserted or the connector is damaged. Hardware Diagnostics AppleCare offers two diagnostics for MacBook Pro. Apple Hardware Test (AHT ) is shipped with every machine and targeted for end-users to troubleshoot their machine. Apple Service Diagnostics (ASD) is offered to Service Providers for more in-depth troubleshooting.
