BEFORE FIRST USE
1. Open the unit so that the top section stands vertically (see illustration). The hinge
between the sections is designed to be loose. This allows waffles to rise evenly
and for steam to escape.
2.IMPORTANT: Condition the non-stick cooking surfaces with a light coating of
cooking oil before first use. Do not use non-stick cooking spray. Brush the oil onto

WARNING: Do not heat an empty Kettle! The concealed heating element in
the bottom of the Kettle is protected by an automatic safety device. If your
kettle is accidentally plugged in without being filled or is allowed to boil dry,
it will automatically repeat a cycle of turning off, cooling down, and coming
back on unless unplugged. If this happens, unplug the kettle, fill with cold
