When all entries have been added, touch Save, then touch Close. Editing or Clearing Speed Dial Entries 1. On the touch screen, touch Fa x. 2. Touch Address Book. 3. Touch the down arrow, then touch Individuals or Groups. 4. Touch the desired Speed Dial entry, then touch Edit Details or Clear Entry. Using Chain Dial Chain dial creates a single fax recipient telephone number by adding two or more fax numbers together into a single number. For example, an area code or extension number could be stored separately from the rest of the telephone number. Chain dialing is accessed from the Address Book. 1. On the touch screen, touch Fa x. 2. Touch Address Book. 3. Touch the down arrow, then touch Individuals. 4. Touch Chain Dial. 5. To add numbers to an existing speed dial number: a. Enter the numbers in the Recipient box using the touch screen keypad. b. Touch the desired speed dial entry from the scrolling list. Touch the scroll arrows if necessary. c. Touch Add to Recipient. The numbers are added together in the Recipient box. d. Touch Save. The combined number appears as a single recipient in the Recipients list. e. Touch Close. The fax can now be sent. Do NOT pour fluids directly into any area. Use supplies and cleaning materials only as directed in this documentation. Keep all cleaning materials out of the reach of children. Wa rni n g:Internal parts of the printer may be hot. Use caution when doors and covers are open. Wa rni n g:Do NOT use pressurized air spray cleaning aids on or in the printer. Some pressurized air spray containers contain explosive mixtures and are not suitable for use in electrical applications. Use of such cleaners can result in a risk of explosion and fire. Wa rni n g:Do NOT remove the covers or guards that are fastened with screws. You cannot maintain or service any parts that are behind these covers and guards. Do NOT attempt any maintenance procedure that is NOT specifically described in the documentation supplied with your printer. To avoid damaging the printer, keep the following guidelines in mind: • Do not place anything on top of the printer. • Do not leave the covers and doors open for any length of time, especially in well-lit places. Light exposure can damage the drum cartridges. • Do not open covers and doors during printing. • Do not tilt the printer while in use. • Do not touch the electrical contacts, gears, or laser devices. Doing so may damage the printer and cause the print quality to deteriorate. • Make sure any parts removed during cleaning are replaced before you plug in the printer. Maintenance WorkCentre 7755/7765/7775 Multifunction Printer User Guide154 Locating the Serial Number When ordering supplies or contacting Xerox for assistance, you will be asked to provide your printer’s serial number. The serial number can be read from the printer’s touch screen. 1. Press the Machine Status button. If necessary, touch the Machine Information tab. 2. The serial number is displayed on the left side of the Machine Information screen. If the serial number cannot be read from the printer’s touch screen, it can also be found inside the printer. 1. If Tray 6 is installed, slide the entire Tray 6 High Capacity Feeder assembly to the left until it stops. 2 . Close the left side door. 6. Lower Tray 5. 7. If necessary, slide the entire Tray 6 High Capacity Feeder assembly to the right to its original position. Usage Counters The usage counters store printer usage and billing information. 1. Press the Machine Status button. 2. Touch the Billing Information tab. Total impressions appear in this window. For more detail: 1. Touch Usage Counters, then touch the down arrow to choose the desired counter. Touch the scroll arrows to view the entire list. 2. Touch Close. Resetting Routine Maintenance Item Life Counters When replacing some routine maintenance items, the printer’s life counter must be reset. 1. Log in as system administrator. Press the Log In/Out button, enter the User ID (admin is the default), touch Next, enter the Password (1111 is the default), then touch Enter. 2. On the printer’s control panel, press Machine Status. 3. Touch the To o l s tab, then touch Device Settings. 4. Touch General, then touch Supply Counter Reset. Touch the scroll arrows if necessary. 5. Touch the desired supply item, then touch Reset Counter. 6. In the pop-up window, touch Reset. 7. This helps avoid output with streaks, smears, and other marks that transfer from the glass area while scanning documents. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with Xerox Anti-Static or another suitable non-abrasive glass cleaner to clean the document glass and the glass strip to its left. To remove finger prints and smudges, clean the touch screen and control panel with a soft, lint-free cloth. Use a cloth to clean the document feeder, output trays, paper trays and outside areas of your printer. Cleaning the Document Feeder Rollers Dirt on the document feeder rollers can cause paper jams or deteriorate print quality. For best performance, clean the document feeder rollers once a month. 1. Open the document feeder top cover until it comes to a stop. Each supply item includes installation instructions. Consumables Use genuine Xerox Toner Cartridges (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black). Note:Each toner cartridge includes installation instructions. Caution:Use of toner other than Genuine Xerox Toner may affect print quality and printer reliability. It is the only toner designed and manufactured under strict quality controls by Xerox for specific use with this printer. Routine Maintenance Items Routine maintenance items are printer parts that have a limited life and require periodic replacement. Replacements may be parts or kits. Routine maintenance items are typically customer replaceable. Verify that you have replacements on hand. It is important to order these supplies when the messages first appear to avoid interruptions to your printing. The touch screen displays an error message when the supply must be replaced. Order supplies from your local reseller or from the Xerox Supplies website at: www.xerox.com/office/WC7755_WC7765_WC7775supplies. Caution:Use of non-Xerox supplies is not recommended. The Xerox Warranty, Service Agreements, and Total Satisfaction Guarantee do not cover damage, malfunction, or degradation of performance caused by use of non-Xerox supplies, or the use of Xerox supplies not specified for this printer. The Total Satisfaction Guarantee is available in the United States and Canada. Coverage may vary outside these areas; please contact your local representative for details. Recycling Supplies For information on Xerox supplies recycling programs, go to www.xerox.com/gwa. Some routine maintenance items come with a prepaid return label.
