4.Press and hold SET/TIMEto save changes and exit  Time Set .
NOTE: If you fail to press a button for three (3) minutes, the changes made will
be sa ved and the wa tch will automatically exit Time Set .
T o V iew Date Infor mation from Time of Day:
•  Press ( SET/TIME ) to peek a t the Date display for 2 seconds.
The top-mounted pusher ( ON/OFF) has the follo wing functions:
•  Turn on the Heart Ra te Monitor.
•  Peek a t the Activity  Time during workout.
•  Turn off the Heart Ra te Monitor.
•  Review the  Total  Activity  Time and Heart Ra te Data (Avera ge,Peak) after
workout.
How T o Use The T imex® Personal Hear t Rate Monitor
1.WET THE CHEST SENSOR P ADS:Moisture MUST be applied to the sensor pads
before using the Heart Ra te Monitor.
2.PUT THE CHEST SENSOR ON: Fasten the sensor snugly around your chest, just
belo w the breasts and a gainst your skin.Be sure
the sensor is centered on the chest and is right side
up so the  “Timex” logo can be read by someone
facing you.
3. STAR T THE HEAR T RATE MONITOR: With the chest sensor on and snug, press the top-mounted pusher (ON/OFF)
loca ted on the top of the wrist monitor .The display will s witch from the time

T o Set or Adjust the T ime of Day:
1.Press and hold SET/TIME.“HOLD SET  TIME”shows on the display ,one word
a t a time, and continue holding  SET/TIMEuntil the current time a ppears with
the Hours fl ashing.
2.Press ON/OFF to advance the digits. Hold ON/OFF to rapidly advance the digits.
3.Press  SET/TIME to continue to set the follo wing (in order):MINUTES; 12-HOUR
(AM/PM) OR 24-HOUR (Militar y) FORMAT; MONTH; DA Y; DA TE FORMA T
(Month/Da te-MM-DD, or Date/Month-DD.MM).

TE: T o view the current time of day ,press SET/TIME to peek at the time
and then return to the Heart Rate display .
5.END Y OUR WORKOUT :Once your exercise is done, press and hold ON/OFF
to turn off the wrist monitor ,and the text  “HOLD TURN OFF” will appear on
the display one word a t a time.The wrist monitor display will no w read the 
T ime of Day .
NOTE: You can also end your workout by removing the chest stra p sensor,but
your workout da ta will be affected by the informa tion gathered while the
wrist monitor searches for the Heart Ra te sensor’s signal and eventually turns
off the wrist monitor .
6.REVIEW Y OUR WORKOUT D ATA: Your Heart Ra te Monitor can provide you
with informa tion gathered during your exercise session. Press and hold
ON/OFF again, and the text  “HOLD FOR INFO” will appear on the display one
word a t a time. The following data will appear automa tically on the wrist
monitor display:
•  Total  Activity  Time in Minutes. Seconds or Hours: Minutes format (ACTIVITY
fla g lit).
•  Avera ge Heart Ra te for your exercise session ( AVG flag lit).
•  Peak Heart Ra te for your exercise session ( PEAKflag lit).
NOTE: To make the informa tion appear faster than ever y 2 seconds,press
ON/OFF . To review your workout da ta again, simply repea t Step 6.

wrist monitor is receiving your Heart Ra te data.Your Heart Ra te will appear
once a good, consistent signal has been received from your chest transmitter
sensor .The  Activity  Timer  {

ela psed time is being tracked in the background.
Effective Range
The wrist monitor needs to be within 3 ft. (1 meter) of the sensor to function
properly .If it does not function properly tr y the following:
•  Shorten the distance between the chest sensor and wrist monitor .
•  Re-adjust the position of the chest sensor .
• Make sure sensor pads are wet.
•  Check the ba tteries in the chest stra p.Replace them when necessar y.
•  Move a way from other users of Heart Ra te Monitors.
•  Move a way from sources of electrical interference.
NO TE:
•  This is not a medical device and is not recommended for use by persons
with serious heart conditions.
•  Interference with the radio signal, poor contact between your skin and
the chest strap ,and other f actors may prevent accurate transmission of
Heart Rate data.
4. READ Y OUR HEAR T RATE AND ACTIVITY TIMER:Your Heart Ra te will continue
to be upda ted every few seconds and the  Activity Timer will continue to
accumula te the elapsed time tha t you have been exercising. To view your
Activity  Timer ,press  ON/OFF ,and the running ela psed time will appear.The
Activity  Timer will run for as long as the wrist monitor is  “on”and receiving
good signals from the chest sensor for a maximum time of 48 hours.

TO CHANGE 
THE CHEST SENSOR BA TTERY:
1. Open the sensor ba ttery lid with a coin by turning counterc lockwise.
2. Insert one CR2032, 3V lithium battery with writing facing you.
NOTE: Take care not to touch the two contacts, otherwise the battery can
discharge.
3. Replace lid.
If you are unsure about the procedure consult your dealer .
A quick test of the unit should be performed after changing the ba ttery:
1. Move a way from an y possible sources of electrical or radio interference.
2. Liberally moisten the sensor pads and put the sensor on your chest, securely
a gainst your skin.
3. In Time of Day mode press  ON/OFF
4. The display will s witch from the time display ,“---” will appear and  the { }
will fi ll and fl ash to indica te that the wrist monitor is receiving your Heart Ra te.
This indica tes that the ba ttery was installed correctly .
Maintenance
The chest sensor and its stra
p should be rinsed in fresh wa ter to avoid the
buildup of ma terials that can interfere with the measurement of your Heart Ra te.
The wrist monitor 
does not need to be rinsed.
1. Do not c lean the chest sensor with abrasive or corrosive ma terials.Abrasive
c leaning a gents may scra tch the plastic parts and corrode the electronic
circuit.
2. Do not subject the sensor to excessive force, shock,dust,tempera ture,or
humidity .Such trea tment may result in malfunction, a shorter electronic life
span, damaged ba tteries, or distorted parts.
3. Do not tamper with the sensor’ s internal components.Doing so will terminate
the sensor’ s warranty and may cause dama ge.The sensor contains no 
user -serviceable parts.
INDIGLO® night-light
Press  INDIGLO button to activa te light.
Electroluminescent technolog y used in the INDIGLO
night-light illumina tes the watch display a t night and in lo w light conditions.
Batter y Infor mation
This product uses a CR2032 lithium ba ttery for the sensor and a CR2032 lithium
ba tter y for the wrist monitor .
When the ba ttery of the wrist monitor is running lo w,the display will dim.
If the Heart Ra te readings become erra tic or stop,your chest sensor ba ttery may
need replacing. You can do this by yourself ver y easily without any special tools.

T imex Corpora tion for a period of ONE  YEAR from the original purchase da te.
T imex and its worldwide affi liates will honor this Interna tional Warranty .
Please note tha t Timex may , at its option, repair your Heart Ra te Monitor by
installing new or thoroughly reconditioned and inspected components or r\
eplace
it with an identical or similar model. IMPORTANT — PLEASE NOTE  THAT THIS
W ARRANTY DOES NOT COVER DEFECTS OR DAMAGES  TO YOUR HEAR T RATE
MONITOR:
1) after the warranty period expires;
2)  if the Heart Ra te Monitor was not originally purchased from an authorized
T imex retailer;
3) from repair ser vices not performed by  Timex;
4)  from accidents, tampering or abuse; and
5)  lens or cr ystal,strap or band, Heart Rate Monitor case, attachments or ba t-
ter y. T imex may charge you for replacing an y of these parts.
THIS  WARRANTY  AND THE REMEDIES CONT AINED HEREIN ARE EXCLUSIVE  AND IN
LIEU OF  ALL OTHER  WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY
IMPLIED  WARRANTY OF MERCHANT ABILITY OR FITNESS FOR P ARTICULAR

It is not necessar y for a heart rate value to appear on the display during
