11 CONNECTING PROJECTOR TERMINALS OF PROJECTOR This projector has input and output terminals on its back for connecting computers and video equipment. Refer to figures on pages 11 to 13 and connect properly. S – VIDEO R – AUDIO IN – LVIDEOY – Pb / Cb – Pr / Cr RESET CONTROL PORT USB AUDIO IN COMPUTERR – – LAUDIO OUT (MONO)COMPUTER INDVI - I MCI / WI MONITOR OUT When controlling the computer with Remote Control of this projector, connect the mouse port of your personal computer to this connector. (Refer to P12.) Connect the S-VIDEO output from video equipment to this jack. (Refer to P13.) Connect the audio output (stereo) from computer to this jack. (Refer to P12.) Connect the audio output from video equipment to these jacks. (Refer to P13.) When the audio output is monaural, connect it to L (MONO) jack. CONTROL PORT CONNECTOR COMPUTER AUDIO INPUT JACK AUDIO INPUT JACKSVIDEO INPUT JACKSS-VIDEO INPUT JACK Connect the composite video output from video equipment to VIDEO/Y jack or connect the component video outputs to VIDEO/Y, Pb/Cb and Pr/Cr jacks. (Refer to P13.) COMPUTER INPUT (DIGITAL/ANALOG) Media Card Imager / Wireless Imager TERMINAL Connect an external audio amplifier to these jacks. (Refer to P12, 13.) AUDIO OUTPUT JACKS This projector uses a micro processor to control this unit, and occasionally, this micro processor may malfunction and need to be reset. This can be done by pressing the RESET button with a pen, which will shut down and restart the unit. Do not use the RESET function excessively. RESET BUTTON When controlling the computer with the Remote Control of this projector, connect USB port of your personal computer to this connector. (Refer to P12.) USB CONNECTOR (Series B) ✽Do not press this button. This button is used for our optional accessories. Connect a monitor to this terminal. This terminal outputs a computer input signal. (Refer to P12.) MONITOR OUTPUT TERMINAL Connect computer output (Digital / Analog DVI-I type), Media Card Imager*, or Wireless Imager* to this terminal. *optional accessories

Used to select input source. (P22, 29) Used to execute the item selected, or to expand or compress the image in DIGITAL ZOOM +/– mode. (P28) It is also used as a PC mouse in Wireless Mouse Operation. (P38) POWER ON-OFF BUTTON Used to turn the projector on or off. (P19) MENU BUTTON Used to select MENU operation. (P17, 18) INPUT BUTTON Used to move the pointer on ON-SCREEN MENU, adjust each item, or pan image in DIGITAL ZOOM +/– mode. (P28) It is also used as a PC mouse in Wireless Mouse Operation. 15 BEFORE OPERATION To insure safe operation, please observe the following precautions : Use (2) AA, UM3 or R06 type alkaline batteries. Replace two batteries at the same time. Do not use a new battery with a used battery. Avoid contact with water or liquid. Do not expose the Remote Control to moisture, or heat. Do not drop the Remote Control. If a battery has leaked on Remote Control, carefully wipe case clean and install new batteries. Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions. Press the lid down- ward and slide it. Remove the battery compartment lid.Slide the batteries into the compartment.Replace the compartment lid. Two AA size batteries For correct polarity (+ and –), be sure the battery terminals are in contact with the pins in the compartment. REMOTE CONTROL BATTERIES INSTALLATION 123 Operating Range Point the Remote Control toward projector (Infrared Remote Receiver) whenever pressing any button. And it flashes green in Power Management mode. (P35) Becomes dim when the projector is turned on. And it is bright when the projector is in stand-by mode. Turns yellow when the life of the projection lamp draws to an end. (P36) Flashes red when the internal projector temperature is too high. (P39) Used to select input source. (P22, 29) Used to select an item or adjust value in ON-SCREEN MENU. They are also used to pan the image in DIGITAL ZOOM +/– mode. (P28) POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons are also used as VOLUME +/– buttons. Used to execute the item selected. It is also used to expand / compress the image in DIGITAL ZOOM mode. (P28) Used to turn the projector on or off. (P19) Used to adjust zoom. (P20) FOCUS BUTTON Used to adjust focus. (P20) ZOOM BUTTON This projector has CONTROL BUTTONS (TOP CONTROLS) and INDICATORS on its top.
17 BEFORE OPERATION HOW TO OPERATE ON-SCREEN MENU FLOW OF ON-SCREEN MENU OPERATION OPERATING ON-SCREEN MENU MENU BAR POINTER (red frame) MENU ICON ITEM DATA Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons to adjust value or set function. SELECT BUTTON POINTER (red frame) Press POINT DOWN button to move POINTER. ITEM Used to select the item.SELECT BUTTON Used to move the Pointer UP/ DOWN/ LEFT/RIGHT .POINT BUTTON REMOTE CONTROL You can control and adjust this projector through the ON-SCREEN MENU. Refer to the following pages to operate each adjustment on the ON-SCREEN MENU. 2 MOVING POINTER 3 SELECT ITEM Move the pointer (✽see below) or adjust the value of an item by pressing the POINT button(s) on the Top Control or on the Remote Control. Select the item or set the selected function by pressing the SELECT button. ✽Pointer is the icon on the ON-SCREEN MENU to select an item. See the figures on the section FLOW OF ON-SCREEN MENU OPERATION below. 1 DISPLAY MENU Press the MENU button to display the ON-SCREEN MENU. Display ON-SCREEN MENU Press the MENU button to display the ON-SCREEN MENU (MENU BAR). A red frame is a POINTER. Move the POINTER (red frame) to the MENU ICON that you want to select by pressing the POINT LEFT / RIGHT buttons. Adjust the ITEM DATA by pressing the POINT LEFT / RIGHT buttons. Refer to the following pages for details of respective adjustments. Press the POINT DOWN button and move the POINTER (red frame or red arrow) to the ITEM that you want to adjust, and then press the SELECT button to show the ITEM DATA. [Contrast / Brightness / White Balance (R/G/B) / Gamma] (Refer to P27) SETTING MENU Used to change settings of the projector or reset Lamp Replace Counter. (Refer to P34, 35) SOUND MENU Used to adjust volume or mute sound. (Refer to P21) IMAGE SELECT MENU Used to select an image level among Standard, Real, and Image 1 ~ 4. (Refer to P26) FOR PC SOURCEPress the MENU BUTTON while connecting to PC input source. AV SYSTEM MENU Used to select system of selected video source. (Refer to P30) IMAGE ADJUST MENU Used to adjust picture image. [Contrast / Brightness / Color / Tint / White balance (R/G/B) / Sharpness / Gamma] (Refer to P32, 33) FOR VIDEO SOURCEPress the MENU BUTTON while connecting to VIDEO input source. Same function as Menu for PC source. INPUT MENU Used to select input source either Video or Computer. (Refer to P29) PC ADJUST MENU Used to adjust parameters to match with input signal format. (Refer to P23-25) IMAGE SELECT MENU Used to select an image level among Standard, Cinema, and Image 1 ~ 4. (Refer to P31)SCREEN MENU Used to set size of image to Normal or Wide. (Refer to P33) GUIDE WINDOW Shows selected item of ON- SCREEN MENU. Same function as Menu for PC source. INPUT MENU Used to select input source either Computer or Video. (Refer to P22) SCREEN MENU Used to adjust size of image. [Normal / True / Wide / Digital zoom +/–] (Refer to P28)
19 BASIC OPERATION TURNING ON PROJECTOR TURNING ON / OFF PROJECTOR Connect the projectors AC Power Cord into an AC outlet. The LAMP Indicator lights red, and the READY Indicator lights green. Press the POWER ON-OFF button on the Top Control or on the Remote Control to ON. The LAMP Indicator dims, and the Cooling Fans start to operate. The Preparation Display appears on the screen and the count-down starts. 2 3 1Complete peripheral connections (with Computer, VCR, etc.) before turning on the projector. (Refer to CONNECTING PROJECTOR on page 11~13.) 26 The Preparation Display disappears after 30 seconds. NOTE : When “On start” function is ON, this projector is turned on automatically by connecting AC Power Cord to an AC outlet. (Refer to the menu item On start on page 35.) 4The input source that was selected last and the Lamp mode status icon appear on the screen after the count-down. The signal from PC or Video source appears after 30 seconds.*Refer to page 35 for the Lamp mode. Lamp mode TURNING OFF PROJECTOR Press the POWER ON-OFF button on the Top Control or on the Remote Control, and a message Power off? appears on a screen. Press the POWER ON-OFF button again to turn off the projector. The LAMP Indicator lights bright and the READY Indicator turns off. After the projector is turned off, the Cooling Fans operate (for 90 seconds). 1 2 TO MAINTAIN THE LIFE OF LAMP, ONCE YOU TURN PROJECTOR ON, WAIT AT LEAST 5 MINUTES BEFORE TURNING IT OFF. DO NOT DISCONNECT AC POWER CORD BEFORE READY INDICATOR LIGHTS GREEN. 3When the projector has cooled down, the READY Indicator lights green again. Power off? The message disappears after 4 seconds. NOTE : The Projector cannot be turned on during cooling period with the READY Indicator off. You can turn it on again after the READY Indicator lights green. note on operation When the WARNING TEMP. indicator flashes red, the projector is automatically turned off. Wait at least 5 minutes before turning on the projector again. (Refer to the section WARNING TEMP. INDICATOR on page 39.) When the “Power management” function is ON, the projector detects signal interruption and turns off the Projection lamp automatically. Refer to “Power management” on page 35. Do not use the projector for more than 24 hours continuously. Turn off the projector at least once in 24 hours and give it a rest. Continuous use may result in shortening the lamp lifetime.
20 Press the FREEZE button on the Remote Control to freeze the picture on-screen. To cancel the FREEZE function, press the FREEZE button again or press any other button. PICTURE FREEZE FUNCTION KEYSTONE ADJUSTMENT 1Press the KEYSTONE button on the Remote Control or select Keystone in the SETTING menu. (Refer to page 34.) The keystone dialog box appears. 2Correct keystone distortion by pressing the POINT UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT button(s). Press the POINT UP button to reduce the upper part of the image, and press the POINT DOWN button to reduce the lower part. Press the POINT LEFT button to reduce the left part, and press the POINT RIGHT button to reduce the right part. Reduce the upper width with POINT UP button. Reduce the lower width with POINT DOWN button. If the projected picture has keystone distortion, correct the image with KEYSTONE adjustment. BASIC OPERATION ADJUSTING SCREEN Message disappears after 4 seconds. Message disappears after 4 seconds. Zoom Focus ZOOM ADJUSTMENT Reduce the left part with POINT LEFT button. Reduce the right part with POINT RIGHT button. •The arrows are white when there is no correction. •The direction of the arrow being corrected turns red. •The arrow(s) disappear(s) at the maximum correction. FOCUS ADJUSTMENT 1Press the ZOOM button on the Top Control or the ZOOM / button on the Remote Control. The message “Zoom” is displayed. 2Press the ZOOM button or the POINT UP button to make image larger, and press the ZOOM button or the POINT DOWN button to make image smaller. 1Press the FOCUS button on the Top Control or the FOCUS / button on the Remote Control. The message “Focus” is displayed. 2Adjust focus of image by pressing the FOCUS /button or the POINT UP/DOWN button(s) .
