124125 Recording Programs This function is not available in the U.S.A. and Canada. You can record current and upcoming programs using a USB device instead of a video recorder. However, this is only available for digital channels. The icon appears next to programs and channels for which a Schedule Recording has been set. " We recommend a USB hard disk drive with a minimum speed of 5,400rpm for TV recording. USB memory sticks are not supported. "Read all precautions before using the recording feature. Formatting a USB Recording Device To record programs on a USB device connected to the TV, the device must first be formatted for the TV. Use the Format Device option to prepare the USB device. " Formatting a USB device erases all data contained on the device. Back up data you want to retain before proceeding. Samsung will not be held responsible for damaged or lost files. 11 Press the button to open the First Screen, and select the Panel icon. You will move to the Panel screen. 21 Select USB Drive from the bottom of the MULTIMEDIA screen. A list of connected devices appears. 31 Select the USB device to use. 126 Managing USB Recording Devices To access functions that let you manage USB recording devices, follow these steps: 11 Press the button to open the First Screen, and select the Panel icon. You will move to the Panel screen. 21 Select USB Drive from the bottom of the MULTIMEDIA screen. A list of connected devices appears. 31 Select a USB recording device from the list. The list of recordings contained on the device appears. 41 Select Options from the top of the screen, and then Manage Device. The Manage Device screen appears. The following options are available on the Manage Device screen: ●Format Device Formats the USB device for TV recordings. ●Check Device Check the malfunctions of USB device. If the USB have a problem, try to recover. ●Device Performance Test Tests the performance of the USB device. This test tells you whether the USB device can be used for TV recordings. ●Default Recording Device If there are multiple USB recording devices connected to the TV, use this option to specify the default device.

Using the Instant and Schedule Recording options from the Guide Select a current program from the Guide, and then select INFO on the On-Screen Remote. You can instantly start recording the program. Alternatively, select a program that will air in the future. Using the Instant and Schedule Recording options from Program Info Press the INFO on the On-Screen Remote to display information about the current program. In the information screen, select a program that is currently airing to start recording it right away. Alternatively, press the ¡, £ buttons and select a program that will air in the future to record it. Using Schedule Recording to Record on a Specified Date and Time 11 Select Broadcasting > Schedule Manager . 21 Select Schedule from the Schedule Manager to bring up a pop-up menu. Select Schedule Recording. 31 Specify the Antenna , Channel, Repeat, Start Time , and End Time options for the program you want to record, and then select OK to finish.
128 Buttons and Functions Available While Recording a Program Press the E button while recording a program. The following buttons and the recording progress bar appear on the screen. ●Information Displays detailed information about the program being recorded. " The program information may differ depending on the broadcasting signal and may not be available at all for certain programs. ● REC Time Lets you select the recording time. ●Stop Recording / Go to Live TV Stops recording. / Shifts viewing to live TV. ●Rewind / Fast forward Repeatedly select the Rewind or Fast Forward button to speed up rewind or fast forward to maximum speed in 5 steps. To restore normal playback speed, select Play. " You cannot use Fast forward while watching a program that is currently being broadcast. ● Pause / Play Lets you pause or resume the video. ●Channel List Displays the channel list. ●Tools Launches the Tools menu. 128129 Managing the Schedule Recording List MENU > Broadcasting > Schedule Manager You can change the settings of scheduled recording sessions or cancel scheduled sessions altogether. Deleting Schedule Recording Sessions You can delete scheduled recording sessions. 11 Select Broadcasting > Schedule Manager . 21 Select a session from the Schedule Manager . A pop-up window appears. 31 Select Delete. This cancels the selected recording session. Editing Schedule Recording Sessions You can change the settings of scheduled recording sessions. 11 Select Broadcasting > Schedule Manager . 21 Select a session from the Schedule Manager . A pop-up window appears. 31 Select Edit, and then change the settings of the selected session. 41 Once finished, select OK. This applies the changes you made to the selected recording session.
130 Viewing Recorded Programs Recorded broadcasts can be viewed using the USB Drive option at the bottom of the MULTIMEDIA screen. 11 Press the button to open the First Screen, and select the Panel icon. " This function is not available when the program is recorded in soccer mode. ● Highlight Player You can select Highlight Player and view highlights of the current recording. " You can only use this function when highlights of a program which was recorded in Soccer Mode have been saved. ● Live TV This function lets you watch a live program in the PIP window while watching a recorded video on the main screen. " Switching channels is not supported. "You can only use this function for programs recorded in Soccer Mode.
132 ●Tools Function Description Search Search Titles: Select and play a different file located in the same folder. Search Time bar: Press left/right button to scan through the file in 1-minute increments or enter a specific time value to jump to that point in the video. Caption Turn the subtitles On or Off. Repeat Mode Changes the repeat mode. Choose Repeat One to play the current file repeatedly or Repeat All to play all files in the same folder repeatedly. Picture Size Use to change the size of the screen. The supported picture sizes vary depending on the video. Picture Mode Use to change the picture mode. Sound Mode Use to change the sound mode. "The Sound Mode function is not available on the UN110S9VF model. Select Speakers Choose the speakers to play the audio through. Only available if you have a home theater or receiver connected to the TV. Multi-Track Sound Use to select a different audio language. This option is only available with files that support multi-track sound. Information Displays detailed information about the current file.

Saved File List Features ●Sorting the Saved File List Sorting with Sort By: Select Sort By at the top of the screen, and then select a viewing mode. The list is sorted based on the selected viewing mode. Grouping with Filter: Select Filter at the top of the screen, and then select a filter. The list is refreshed to show only files that match the selected filter. ●Options Function Description Play Selected Select files from the file list to create a playlist, and then select Play. The TV plays the files you selected. If the View mode is set to Folder view, only the files contained in the same folder can be selected. To add files from other folders to the playlist, change the View mode. Lock Locking files prevents them from being deleted. Select the files, and then select Lock . This locks all selected files. Unlock Use this option to unlock any locked files. Select the files, and then select Unlock. This unlocks all selected files. Delete Deletes recorded files. Select the files, and then select Delete. This deletes all selected files, except files that are locked. Rename Renames a file. Enter the new name using the On-Screen Keyboard. When finished, select Done. The new name can be up to 29 characters long. Index When searching through a large number of media items, select a character. Media items starting with that character appear. "This is not available when View is set to Folder view. Manage Device Used to manage USB recording devices connected to the TV. 134 Setting Up a Schedule Viewing Configure the TV to show a specific channel or program at a specific time and date. The icon appears next to programs that have been configured for a Schedule Viewing. " To set up a Schedule Viewing, you must first set the TV's clock. Go to Clock (System > Time > Clock). Digital Channel Schedule Viewing You can set up Schedule Viewing for programs on digital channels on the following screens: ●The Guide Screen ●The Program Info Screen The Guide Screen To set up a scheduled viewing on the Guide screen, follow these steps: 11 Press the GUIDE button on your remote. 21 On the Guide screen, use your remote control to highlight, and then select a program you would like to view. 31 On the Information Screen that appears, select Schedule Viewing.
