Available options include: • Te x t : Use the keyboard to type text. • Pen: Use the S Pen to write text. • Brush : Create a drawing. • Image : Insert an image into the note. • Voice: Use your voice to insert text into the note. 3. T ap Save when finished. Edit Notes You can make edits to notes you create. 1. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps > Samsung Notes . 2. T ap a note to view it. 3. T ap the content and make edits. 4. When you are finished, tap Save.

126How to Use Settings Settings How to Use Settings Access Settings There are a couple of ways to access your device settings. ► F rom a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings . – or – Drag down from the Status bar to display the Notification panel, and then tap Settings . Search for Settings If you are not sure exactly where to find a certain setting, you can use the Search feature. 1. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings . 2. T ap Search . • Enter a word or words in the Search field. As you type, settings that match display on the screen. • Tap an entry to go to that setting.
127Airplane Mode Settings Airplane Mode Airplane mode disconnects your device from all networks and turns off connectivity features, such as phone calls and Wi-Fi. While in Airplane mode, you can use other features such as playing music, watching videos, and other offline applications. Enable Airplane Mode To enable or disable Airplane mode: 1. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings . 2. T ap Airplane mode , and then tap On/Off to enable or disable the option.
128Wi-Fi Settings Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is a term used for certain types of Wireless Local Area Networks ( WLAN). Wi - Fi communication requires access to a wireless Access Point (AP). Turn Wi‑Fi On or Off Turning Wi-Fi on makes your device able to discover and c onnect to compatible in-range wireless APs. 1. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings . 2. T ap Wi ‑F i , and then tap On/Off to turn Wi-Fi on or off. Wi‑Fi Status Indicators Status bar icons indicate your current Wi-Fi connection status: • When Wi-Fi is connected, active, and communicating with a wireless Access Point, Wi‑Fi active is displayed in the Status bar. • If a Wi-Fi access point is available, but your device is not connected to it, Wi‑Fi available is displayed. It may also display if there is a communication issue with the target wireless Access Point.
129Wi-Fi Settings Wi‑Fi Networks To scan for a Wi-Fi network and connect to it: 1. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings . 2. T ap Wi ‑F i , and then tap On/Off to turn on Wi-Fi. • When Wi-Fi is turned on, your device automatically scans for available networks and displays them. 3. T ap the network you want to connect to. • When you select an open network, you are automatically connected to the network. Otherwise, enter a password to connect. Manually Connect to a Wi‑Fi Network You can connect your device to a Wi-Fi network manually. 1. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings . 2. T ap Wi ‑F i , and then tap On/Off to turn on Wi-Fi. 3. T ap Add network . 4. Ent er information about the Wi-Fi network: • Network name : Enter the name of the Wi-Fi network. • Security : Select a security option and enter your password. • Auto reconnect : Connect to this network automatically whenever available. • Show advanced options : Add advanced options such as IP settings and Proxy settings. 5. T ap Connect to store the new information and connect to your target wireless Access Point.

T ap More options for options: • Advanced : -Show Wi‑Fi pop‑u p: Receive a pop-up when opening apps if a Wi-Fi network is available. -Smart network switch : Connect automatically to a mobile network connection when the Wi-Fi connection is unstable. -Wi‑Fi notifications : Receive notifications when Wi-Fi networks in range are detected. -Hotspot 2.0 : Automatically connect to Wi - Fi access points that support Hotspot 2.0. -Manage networks : Manage your saved Wi - Fi networks. -WPS push button : Set up a connection to a WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) router or other equipment. -WPS PIN entry : View the PIN used by your device to set up a PIN-secured connection to a Wi-Fi router or other equipment (not configurable). -Keep Wi‑Fi on during sleep : Specify when to disconnect from Wi-Fi. -Install network certificates : Install authentication certificates.
