Setting the Switches
The camera is provided with an 8-bit DIP switch. The 8-
bit DIP switch is used to return the camera to the facto-
ry default settings. Switch settings are read into the
camera when the power is turned on. Make sure to turn
the camera off, then turn it back on after changing the
switch settings. Switch positions and functions are
shown below.

■Still Picture Storage to the PC
The camera picture can be saved as a still image on
your PC.
1. Move the cursor to the picture area on the screen,
and right-click to select Save As.
2. Enter a file name to be assigned to the picture, and
specify the storage place in the dialog box.
3. Click Save.

tions according to the setup.
Inputs: 
•Input from ALARM IN 1 and ALARM IN 2.
•Input from the built-in VMD (Video Motion Detector)
that detects motion in video by monitoring a speci-
fied area.
Outputs:
•The message Alarm is displayed in the upper
right corner of the Main Menu, Camera Control win-
dow and Alarm List.
•The picture files of alarm events are stored in the
camera.
•An e-mail notifies the specified addresses of the

■Transferring Picture Files
•Set FTP setup menu.
•Pre- and post-alarm picture files can be sent to and
stored on a designated FTP server.
•A picture file attached to a mail can be sent to the
specified mail addresses.
Note:When many alarm events arise at the same time,
it may happen occasionally that a mail is sent with-
out an alarm picture attached.
■Canceling Alarm Display
1. Indicating ALARM in the top window or in the
Camera Control window:
•Click the [Setup Menu] or [Alarm List] button.

button.
The detection map is split into 48 areas with status
indications for each.
Transparency:Indicates a non-masked area that
has been incorporated into the detection area.
Blink:Indicates a non-masked area when the
cursor is on it.
Highlight:Indicates a masked area that has
been exempted from detection.
Stripe:Indicates an already masked area
when the cursor is on it.

■Reviewing Alarm Pictures 
The alarm pictures stored in the camera can be
reviewed on the PC.
1. In the main window, click the [Alarm List] button.
2. Click the pertinent Data/Time in the list.
You can confirm the pictures of past alarm events.

TRM2: Alarm through Terminal 2

■Resetting Alarm 
You can reset the alarm output functions being activat-
ed.
1. In the main window, click the [Setup Menu] button.
2. Click the [Alarm] button to open the Alarm Setup
window.
3. Find External Alarm Reset in the window.
4. Click the [Alarm Reset] button.
5. Click the [Go to Main Menu] button to go back to

■Auxiliary Output Control
You can turn a connected device on or off, for example
a lamp that is connected to the AUX OUT terminal of
the camera.
1. Set this item on the Camera Control window.
2. Select the polarity for switching the connected
device on or off.
High:Supplies high voltage.
Low:Supplies low voltage.
Note:The initial state when the camera is turned
on is HIGH.
