    When the unit is connected to a 
    computer, it is recognized as an external 
    drive.
    ∫Drive icons
    [Removable Disk] is displayed in [My 
    Computer].
    ≥Windows XP:

    ∫Example folder structure
    ≥SD-Video format motion pictures are 
    stored in the [PRG¢¢¢] folder. 
    (“¢¢¢” denotes a number from 001 to 
    4095.)
    ≥Up to 99 files can be recorded in the 
    [PRG¢¢¢] folder.
    ≥JPEG format still pictures 
    (IMGA0001.JPG etc.) are stored in the 
    [100CDPFP] folder.
    These can be opened with picture 
    software that supports JPEG pictures.≥Up to 999 files can be recorded in the 
    [100CDPFP] or other such folder.
    ≥The DPOF setting files are recorded in 
    the [MISC] folder.
    ≥Do not use the computer to delete the 
    SD card’s folders. Otherwise, it may no 
    longer be possible for this unit to read 
    the SD card.
    ≥Always use this unit to format SD 
    cards.
    ≥When data not supported by this unit 
    has been recorded on a computer, it 
    will not be recognized by this unit.

    recorded on this unit using 
    Explorer etc., refer to the 
    operating instructions for

    ≥Before initial use, select the software 
    [Readme First] from the start menu, 
    then read through the additional 
    instructions or updated information.
    ≥The End User Licence Agreement is 
    displayed when the software is first 
    started, so read carefully through its 
    terms and conditions, then click [I 
    agree].
    ≥When using MotionSD STUDIO 1.2E, 
    log on to your computer as 
    Administrator with a login name 
    equally authorized. If you log on with a 
    login name other than Administrator, 
    you cannot use the applications.
    ∫Starting MotionSD STUDIO
    Select [start]>
    [All Programs (Programs)]>
    [Panasonic]>
    [MotionSD STUDIO 1.2E]>
    [MotionSD STUDIO].
    [Let’s Try MotionSD STUDIO] is 
    displayed on the screen.
    ≥Refer to the operating instructions of 
    the software (PDF file) for details on 
    how to use.
    ∫Closing MotionSD STUDIO
    Click [ ] at the very bottom of 
    [TOOL BOX].
    ≥MotionSD STUDIO can be closed by 
    selecting [File]>[Exit] on the 
    MotionSD STUDIO menu.
    ≥If you use MotionSD STUDIO to edit 
    images and then output them to an SD 
    card, use an SD card made by 
    Panasonic or one that allows motion

    ≥If you use MotionSD STUDIO to output 
    a large number of scenes to an SD 
    card, DVD R/RW or DVD-RAM, the 
    scenes may be displayed as 
    thumbnails or it may take time to 
    output.

    1Double click the   icon in 
    the task tray displayed on the 
    computer screen.
    Hardware disconnect dialog 
    appears.
    ≥Depending on your computer’s 
    settings, this icon may not be 
    displayed.
    2Select [USB Mass Storage 
    Device] and click [Stop].
    3Verify [MATSHITA SD Video 
    Camera USB Device] is 
    selected and click [OK].
    Click [Close] and you can safely 
    disconnect the cable.
    ≥If you disconnect the USB cable while 
    the card access lamp is on or while   
    appears on the LCD monitor, it may 
    damage the data.Follow the steps below to uninstall the 
    software if it is no longer required.
    1Select [start] # ([Settings] #) 
    [Control Panel] # [Add or 
    Remove Programs 
    (Applications)].
    2Select [MotionSD STUDIO 
    1.2E], then click [Change/
    Remove] 
    ([Change or Remove] or 
    [Add/Remove]).
    ≥Proceed with the uninstallation by 
    following the on-screen 
    instructions.
    ≥After uninstalling the software, be 
    sure to reboot the computer.

    1 Connect this unit to the personal computer via the supplied USB connection 
    cable.
    2 Double-click [NO_NAME] or [Untitled] displayed on the desktop.
    ≥Files are stored in [100CDPFP] folder in the [DCIM] folder.
    3 Using a drag-and-drop operation, move the pictures you want to acquire or 
    the folder storing those pictures to any different folder on the personal 
    computer.
    ∫To disconnect USB cable safely
    Drag the [NO_NAME] or [Untitled] icon to the [Trash] and then disconnect the USB 
    connection cable.

    The power saving function is not 
    activated.
    [5 MINUTES]:
    When about 5 minutes have passed 
    without any operation, this unit 
    automatically turns off to prevent the 
    battery from running down. When you 
    use this unit, turn it on again.
    ≥In the following cases, the unit may not 
    turn off even when you set this to 
    [5 MINUTES].

    This item is used to start the unit 
    demonstration.
    (Only when using the AC adaptor and 
    the mode dial is at the   or   
    position)
    If you set this to [ON] without inserting an 
    SD card, this unit is automatically set to 
    the demonstration mode for introducing 
    its functions. If buttons other than the 
    Mode select buttons [AUTO]/[MANUAL 
    AF/MF] are pressed or operated, the 
    demonstration mode is canceled.
    If no operations take place for approx. 
    10 minutes, the demonstration mode 
    automatically starts. To terminate the 
    demonstration mode, insert an SD card 
    or set this to [OFF]. For normal use, set
