n For Macintosh users
The Panasonic KX-PS8100 has two scanner drivers, TWAIN as well as 
Photoshop Plug-in. Perform the following depending upon the scanner 
driver.
To use the TWAIN scanner driver:
1Start Mac OS.
2Run your TWAIN compliant application.
3Click the File menu, and click Import.
4Click Twain Acquire..., and go to step 5.
The Panasonic Scanner Driver and the Preview Screen are 
displayed.
To use the Photoshop Plug-in scanner driver:
1Start Mac OS.
2Run your Photoshop...

Make sure the document that you wish to print has been selected.
n For Windows 3.1 users
1Click the File menu, then click Print.
The Print window is displayed.
•Make sure that “Panasonic KX-PS8100” is selected.
2Click [OK].
After several minutes, the document will be printed. Print time 
depends on the size of the document.

The Save an Image to Disk window is displayed.
2Enter the File Name.

•Scanning a document using the flatbed (scanner glass) produces 
better quality than using the ADF. For best quality use flatbed 
scanning. 
3If you wish to make more than one duplicate, set the 
number of duplicates using numbers 0-9.
•
You can set the number of duplicates between 1 and 999.
•Clicking  will reset the number of duplicates to 1.
4If you wish to use the multi-purpose tray, perform the 
following and go to step 5.

2When using the multi-purpose tray, be sure to select MP 
Tr a y in the Paper Source menu (see page 205).

NOTES:
•When making a color duplicate, pressing the MODE + START COLOR 
button makes a duplicate more quickly than pressing the START COLOR 
button. However, it slightly increases the toner consumption.
•When making a duplicate of a black and white document, press START 
B/W button to make a duplicate quickly. If you press START COLOR 
button, you will still get a black and white duplicate, but the process will 
take slightly longer.

Before the printer can print after being in Ready(Sleep), it needs to warm up 
to heat up the fuser. The actual warm-up time depends on how long the 
printer has been in Power Saver mode. If the printer has been in 
Ready(Sleep) Power Saver mode for a long time, the warm-up period will be 
longer.
If there is a printing problem, the Error indicator will be on, and an error will 
appear in the display window. For information about error messages, see 
“Printer LCD panel” on page 248....
