Battery life If your Panasonic battery is fully charged; — the battery life will last up to 8 hours while in use (in conversation). — it will last for up to about 21 days while not in use (off the base unit). lBattery life may vary depending on usage conditions and ambient temperature. RECHARGE indicator Recharge Recharge the battery when: — the handset beeps intermittently while it is in use, or — the RECHARGE indicator flashes. Place the handset on the cradle of the base unit for about 4 hours before initial use. Automatic security code setting Whenever you place the handset on the base unit, the unit will automatically select one of a million security codes. These codes help to avoid unauthorized use of your telephone line by another cordless telephone.

While the unit is idle, press or . lIf any documents are in the document entrance, you cannot adjust the ringer volume. Handset is on the base unit: Lift the handset and press . lThe TALK indicator will light. 2 Dial the telephone number. lIf noise interferes with the conversation, press to select a clear channel or move closer to the base unit. 3 When finished talking, press or place the handset on the base unit. lThe TALK indicator will turn off. TALK CH TALK TALK Note: lYou can also dial by pressing on the base unit. When the other party answers, press . lIf short beeps sound when you press ; —move towards the base unit, or —place the handset on the base unit. Then try again. lIf is pressed while using the base unit, the call is switched to the handset and the base unit is disconnected.TALK TALK MONITOR Making a call 1 Handset is off the base unit: Press when the handset rings. lYou can also answer a call by pressing any dial key 0 to 9, or #. 28 Navigator Directory (Base Unit) Storing names and telephone numbers in the directory! For rapid access to frequently dialed numbers, the unit provides the navigator directory (50 items). For your convenience, the following item has been pre-programmed. HELP-FAX (1-800-435-7329):If you cannot correct a problem after trying the help function (p. 9), call using this item (p. 30). lIf you do not need the above item, you can erase it (p. 29). To correct a mistake lPress or to move the cursor to the incorrect character/number, and make the correction. To delete a character/number lMove the cursor to the character/number you want to delete, and press . STOP 1 Press until the following is displayed.
