    When setting from the Wi-Fi setup menu
    1Press Wi-Fi button. 
    2Select [Wi-Fi SETUP] using the SET button and then 
    press the SET button.
    3Select [Wireless Settings] using the SET button and 
    then press the SET button.
    4Select blank row using the SET button and then 
    press the SET button.
    ≥For information on how to delete wireless 
    access points or change the search order of 
    wireless access points, please refer to 
    [Wireless Settings] on page  187.
    5Select [SET] using the SET 
    button and then press the SET button.
    6Select [Manual Connection] using the SET button 
    and then press the SET button.
    7Select [Search for wireless network] or [Manual 
    Setting] using the SET button and then press the SET 
    button.
    [Search for 
    wireless network]:Allows you to search for wireless access 
    points, select one, and set it. ( l172)
    [Manual Setting]:Allows you to configure detailed settings by 
    entering the SSID of the wireless access point 
    you want to connect to. ( l173 )

    When connecting by [Search for wireless network]
    1Select the wireless access point to be connected 
    using the SET button and then press the SET button.
    ≥If you select [Refresh], you can search for wireless access points 
    again.
    ≥ If an Encryption key (Password) is not set, the connection is complete 
    and a message is displayed.
    2(When there is an Encryption key (Password))
    Select [INPUT] using the SET button and then press 
    the SET button.
    3Enter the Password using the SET button.
    ≥Select characters using the SET button and then press the SET button.
    ≥ When the SET button is tilted up/down several times, the password 
    entry screen switches from alphabets (lower case) to alphabets (upper 
    case) and then to symbols.
    ≥ When the entry is complete, select [ENTER] using the SET button and 
    then press the SET button.

    Select [NEXT] using the SET button and then press 
    the SET button.
    ≥A message is displayed when the connection is complete.

    1Select [INPUT] using the SET button and then press 
    the SET button.
    2Enter the SSID of the wireless access point to be 
    connected using the SET button
    ≥For details on how to enter characters, refer to page  172.
    ≥ When the entry is complete, select [ENTER] using the SET button and 
    then press the SET button.
    3Select [NEXT] using the SET button and then press 
    the SET button.
    4Select the desired Network Authentication method 
    using the SET button and then press the SET button.
    ≥When [WEP] is selected, proceed according to step 6.
    Confirming that the Wi-Fi connection is complete
     is displayed on the screen
    When the preparations for the Wi-Fi function ( l162 ) and the Wi-Fi 
    connection are complete, you can use the following functions: j[LINK TO CELL] ( l181 )

    connection.
    6(When selecting [WEP]/[TKIP]/[AES])
    Select [INPUT] using the SET button and then press 
    the SET button.
    7Enter the Password using the SET button.
    ≥For details on how to enter characters, refer to page  172.
    ≥ When the entry is complete, select [ENTER] using the SET button and 
    then press the SET button.
    8Select [NEXT] using the SET button and then press 
    the SET button.
    ≥A message is displayed when the connection is complete.
    Confirming that the Wi-Fi connection is complete
     is displayed on the screen
    When the preparations for the Wi-Fi function ( l162 ) and the Wi-Fi 
    connection are complete, you can use the following functions:

    ≥Check the wireless access points instruction manual and settings when 
    a saving wireless access point.
    ≥ The Encryption methods are [AES], [TKIP] and [WEP] in descending 
    order of strength. We recommend you connect with the strongest 
    possible Encryption method.
    ≥ If no connection can be established, the wireless access point’s radio 
    waves may be too weak. Refer to “Messages” ( l214) and 
    “Troubleshooting” ( l215) for details.
    ≥ Transmission speed may decrease, or may not be usable depending 
    on the environment it is used in.

    Connecting to the smartphone
    Check if your smartphone is compatible with WPSjIf the smartphone is compatible with WPS:
    Proceed to the following [Easy Connection (WPS)]
    j If the smartphone is not compatible with WPS:
    [Connecting by entering an SSID and Password]
    1Press Wi-Fi button. 
    2Select [Wi-Fi SETUP] using the SET button and then 
    press the SET button.
    3Select [Direct Connection] using the SET button and 
    then press the SET button.
    4Select [Change connection type] using the SET 
    button and then press the SET button.
    5Select [Easy Connection (WPS)] using the SET 
    button and then press the SET button.
    6Set the smartphone to WPS Mode.

     is displayed on the screen
    When the preparations for the Wi-Fi function ( l162 ) and the Wi-Fi

    about the setting of the wireless access point or smartphone.
    If the Wi-Fi connection cannot be established
    ProblemCheck points
    It cannot connect 
    to the wireless 
    access point.
    The wireless 
    access point is not 
    detected. (General)
    ≥
    Turn ON the wireless access point.
    ≥ Approach the wireless access point and 
    reconnect.
    ≥ If it takes time to complete the connection, 
    the Wi-Fi connection will be aborted.
    Reset the connection settings.
    ≥ Check how to connect to the wireless 
    access point and how to set the security 
    settings.
    ≥ Make sure the wireless access point is 
    registered in this unit. ( l187 )
    ≥ The device may be unable to locate the 
    wireless access point due to problems with 
    the signal. Use [Manual Connection]. 
    (l 170 )
    ≥ The Wi-Fi function will not work underwater.
    (Easy Connection)
    ≥ Make sure the wireless access point is in 
    the correct WPS standby mode.
    ≥ Make sure the PIN code has been correctly 
    input.
    (Manual Connection)
    ≥ Make sure the SSID and password have 
    been correctly input.
    ≥ Check the Authentication method, 
    Encryption type, and Encryption key 
    (Password).

    Radio waves of the 
    wireless access 
    point get 
    disconnected.≥
    The condition may improved by moving the 
    location or changing the angle of the 
    wireless access point.
    ≥ If you use another 2.4 GHz band device 
    such as a microwave oven or cordless 
    telephone nearby, you may interrupt the 
    signal. Keep a sufficient distance from these 
    types of devices.
    The Wi-Fi 
    connection is not 
    possible between 
    this unit and a 
    smartphone. (Wireless Access Point Connection)
    ≥
    Make sure the smartphone is properly 
    connected to the wireless access point by 
    checking the Wi-Fi settings of the 
    smartphone.
    ≥ Make sure this unit and the smartphone are 
    connected to the same wireless access 
    point.
    ≥ Make sure the wireless access point is 
    registered in this unit. ( l187 )
    (Direct Connection)
    ≥ Make sure the smartphone is properly 
    connected to this unit by checking the Wi-Fi 
    settings of the smartphone.
    ≥ Make sure the SSID and password have 
    been correctly input.
    ≥ Make sure the smartphone is not connected 
    to the wireless access point. If it is 
    connected to the wireless access point, 
    change the Wi-Fi access point using the 
    smartphone’s Wi-Fi set up.
    It takes long time 
    every time to 
    connect to a 
    smartphone. ≥
    It may take longer time to connect 
    depending on the Wi-Fi connection setting 
    of the smartphone, but it is not a 
    malfunction.
    ProblemCheck points

    This unit is not 
    displayed in the 
    Wi-Fi setting 
    screen of the 
    smartphone.≥
    Try switching the ON/OFF of the Wi-Fi 
    function in the Wi-Fi settings of the 
    smartphone.
    The Wi-Fi 
    connection is 
    disconnected 
    immediately. ≥
    If there is a setting for avoiding poor 
    connections in the Wi-Fi setting menu of the 
    Android device 4.0 or later version, turn it 
    OFF.
