    Do not connect to the wireless network you are not 
    authorized to use
    When this unit utilizes its Wi-F i function, wireless networks will be 
    searched automatically. When this happens, wireless networks that you 
    are not authorized to use (SSID
    *) may be displayed, however do not 
    attempt to connect to the network as it may be considered as 
    unauthorized access.
    * SSID refers to the name of device that is used to identify a network  over a wireless LAN connection. If the SSID matches for both devices, 
    transmission is possible.
    ∫ Before use
    To use a Wi-Fi function with this unit, you need a wireless access point or 
    destination device equipped with a wireless LAN function.
    ≥This unit cannot be used to connect to a public wireless LAN 
    connection.
    ≥ Use a IEEE802.11b, IEEE802.11g or IEEE802.11n compatible device 
    when using a wireless access point.
    ≥ When using a wireless access point, we strongly recommend that you 
    set a encryption to maintain information security.
    ≥ When sending scenes or still pictures, we recommend you use the AC 
    adaptor. If you are using the battery, we recommend you use the fully 
    charged one.
    ≥ When sending motion pictures or still pictures on a mobile network or 
    tethering, high packet communication fees may be incurred depending 
    on the details of your contract.
    ≥ This unit may not connect to a wireless access point depending on the 
    radio wave condition.
    ≥ When sending motion pictures or still pictures with the Wi-Fi function, 
    do not cover the Wi-Fi transmitter with your hand. ( l21)
    ≥ When the battery indicator is lit red, the connection with other 
    equipment may not start or the connection may be disrupted.
    ≥ The Wi-Fi transmitter may become warm when using the Wi-Fi 
    function; however this is not a sign of a malfunction. ( l21)

    By linking with Wi-Fi compatible devices, you can use the Wi-Fi functions 
    of [LINK TO CELL]  and [DLNA PLAYBACK] .
    Before using the respective Wi-Fi functions, check and prepare your device.≥For the operations and settings of your device such as the 
    smartphone, please read the operating instructions of the device.

    1 Install the smartphone application “Image App” on your smartphone.

    B When connecting to a wireless access point
    1 Check if the wireless access point is compatible with IEEE802.11b, 
    IEEE802.11g, or IEEE802.11n.
    2 Install the smartphone application “Image App” on your smartphone.

    When the preparation above is complete, proceed to “Connecting to a 
    wireless access point” ( l166).
    A DLNA-compatible TV
    1 Check if the wireless access point is compatible with IEEE802.11b, 
    IEEE802.11g, or IEEE802.11n.
    2 Check if the TV is DLNA-compatible
    When the preparation above is complete, proceed to “Connecting to a 
    wireless access point” ( l166).
    [DLNA 
    PLAYBACK]You can play back motion/s till pictures of this unit 
    on a DLNA-compatible TV.

    Installation

    2 Select “Google Play

    To use the Wi-Fi function, connect this unit to a wireless access point or 
    smartphone via Wi-Fi.
    ∫About the status indicator and the connection status 
    icon when connected to Wi-Fi

    Connecting to Wi-Fi [HX-WA30]
    ≥If the clock has been set for the first time, the confirmation 
    message for the Wi-Fi settings will be displayed. Select [YES], 
    and then configure the access point settings. ( l166 )
    ≥ In [Eye-Fi], [TRANSFER] is set to [ALL] or [SELECT], the Wi-Fi 
    function cannot be used. Set [TRANSFER] to [OFF]. (l 155)

    ≥ When Wi-Fi is disconnected, the status indicator turns off.

    Check if the wireless access point you are using is 
    compatible with WPS
    jIf the wireless access poin t is compatible with WPS:
    Proceed to the following [Easy Connection (WPS)]
    j If the wireless access point is not compatible with WPS:

    ≥ WPS is an abbreviation for Wi-Fi Protected Setup™.
    ∫ If this is the first time the Wi-Fi button is pressed
    1Press Wi-Fi button. 
    2Select [YES] using the SET button and then press the 
    SET button.
    3Select [Easy Connection (WPS)] using the SET 
    button and then press the SET button.
    4Set the wireless access point to 
    waiting for WPS.
    ≥For further details, please read the operating 
    instructions for the wireless access point.
    ≥ A message is displayed when the connection is 
    complete.
    ≥ A message is displayed when the connection 
    attempt fails. Press the SET button, and set the connection again.

    Enter a PIN code to set the Wi-Fi connection1Select [PIN code] in Step 4, and then press the SET button.
    2 Select the wireless access point to be connected using the 
    SET button and then press the SET button.
    ≥ If you select [Refresh], you can search for wireless access points 
    again.
    3 Enter the PIN code displayed on this unit screen into the 
    wireless access point.
    ≥ For further details, please read the operating instructions for the 
    wireless access point.
    4 Press the SET button to finish the setup.
    ≥ A message is displayed when the connection is complete.
    ≥ A message is displayed when the connection attempt fails. Press the 
    SET button to finish the setup, and set the connection again.
    ∫ When setting from the Wi-Fi setup menu
    1Press Wi-Fi button. 
    2Select [Wi-Fi SETUP] using the SET button and then 
    press the SET button.
    3Select [Wireless Settings] using the SET button and 
    then press the SET button.
    4Select blank row using the SET button and then 
    press the SET button.
    ≥For information on how to delete wireless 
    access points or change the search order of 
    wireless access points, please refer to 
    [Wireless Settings] on page  187.

    5Select [SET] using the SET button and then press the 
    SET button.
    6Select [Easy Connection (WPS)] using the SET 
    button and then press the SET button.
    7Set the wireless access point to 
    waiting for WPS.

    ≥ A message is displayed when the connection is 
    complete.
    Enter a PIN code to set the Wi-Fi connection1 Select [PIN code] in Step 7, and then press the SET button.
    2 Select the wireless access point to be connected using the 
    SET button and then press the SET button.

    ≥Confirm Encryption key of the selected wireless access point if the 
    network authentication is encrypted.
    ≥ When connecting by [Manual Setting], confirm the SSID (Identification 
    name), Authentication method, Encryption type, and Encryption key 
    (Password) of the wireless access point you are using.
    ∫ If this is the first time the Wi-Fi button is pressed
    1Press Wi-Fi button. 
    2Select [YES] using the SET button and then press the 
    SET button.
    3Select [Manual Connection] using the SET button 
    and then press the SET button.
    4Select [Search for wireless network] or [Manual 
    Setting] using the SET button and then press the SET 
    button.

    [Search for 
    wireless network]:Allows you to search for wireless access 
    points, select one, and set it. ( l172)
    [Manual Setting]:Allows you to configure detailed settings by 
    entering the SSID of the wireless access point 
    you want to connect to. ( l173 )
