    ≥During panorama still picture recordin g, the zoom function is disabled.
    ≥ If you record a motion picture with [PANORAMA] set to   (360 e 
    PANORAMA) or   (180 e PANORAMA), zoom operations are 
    available during recording but  zoom will be automatically canceled 
    when you stop.
    ≥ The panorama still picture that will be recorded will be narrower than 
    what is displayed in the recording screen.
    ≥ Panorama still pictures are indicated by   or   in the 1-file or 8-
    file thumbnail display.
    ≥ When recording panorama still pictures, the following functions are 
    disabled and cannot be used.
    j[FLASH], [SCENE MODE], [CREATIVE CONTROL], [BURST] and 
    [SELF TIMER]
    ≥ The following functions do not work with recording panorama still 
    pictures.
    j[E.I.S.(PICTURE)]
    ≥ When recording panorama still pictures, [FOCUS] is set to 
    (AUTO).
    ≥ During panorama recording, the exposure is automatically corrected 
    according to the brightness of the subject. (  [EXPOSURE] is 
    set to   (PROGRAM)) To record with the exposure locked, use the 
    AE lock function ( l11 4 ).
    ≥ When [PANORAMA] is set to   (360 e PANORAMA) or   (180 e 
    PANORAMA), the field of view of the recording standby screen 
    switches to the field of view for a still picture display. ( l48)
    ≥ Focus and White Balance will be fixed to the optimal values for the still 
    picture for first frame. Therefore, if focus, brightness or a light source 
    changes drastically  during recording, the panorama still picture as a 
    whole may not be recorded with optimal focus or a color tone.
    ≥ Since panorama still picture is composed from multiple still pictures, 
    there may be cases where the subject may warp or connection may 
    stand out.

    ≥In the following cases, it may not be possible to record correctly.
    jWhen the swing speed is too fast or too slow
    j When recording the subject that have monotone colors or patterns 
    repeating (such as sky, sandy beach, etc.).
    j When recording moving subjects (such as people, pets, automobile, 
    wave, flowers swaying in the wind, etc.)
    j When recording in a dark place
    j When recording in places with flickering light source such as 
    fluorescent lamp, candle, etc.
    j When recording the unit held away from your body (axis of rotation)
    ≥ The recorded panorama picture will not be saved when the recording is 
    terminated before reaching the half of the set angle. Even if the 
    recording exceeds the halfway point, when the recording is terminated 
    before reaching the set angle, the image up to the recording 
    termination point will be recorded.

    The unit can record underwater at depths of down to 10 m (33 feet) 
    ( ) /5 m (16 feet) (  /  ). (for periods within 60 
    minutes)
    Record with color balance and audio that 
    are suitable for recording underwater
    When recording underwater, set [SCENE MODE] to   (UNDER 
    WATER). The color balance and audio recording will be suitable for 
    recording underwater.

    Select the menu. (l60)
    ≥When [SCENE MODE] is set to   (UNDER WATER), [Before using 
    the unit under water] and [Maintenance after use in water] are 
    displayed. Please check beforehand to maintain the waterproof 
    performance. Press the MENU button to exit the message screen.
    ≥After use underwater, wash the unit in fresh water and dry well. ( l14)
    ≥ Do not use the Under Water Mode except when recording underwater.
    ≥ When recording underwater, the sound of the unit motor will be 
    recorded at a relatively high volu me. However, in Under Water Mode, 
    the sound of the motor is suppressed through the action of an audio 
    filter. (sound quality differs to when recording in other modes)

    Before recording underwater, be sure to read “(Important) About 
    the Waterproof/Dustproof and Anti-shock Performance of this 
    unit” (page  8 to  17) and to use the camera correctly. Incorrect use 
    may result water entering the unit and malfunction.

    and switch the image quality of the motion picture to record.
