    Installation

    To use the Wi-Fi function, connect this unit to a wireless access point or smartphone via Wi-Fi.
    ≥ Depending on the Wi-Fi connection method, available Wi-Fi funct ions differ.
    ≥ If you select [History], you can set up a Wi-Fi connection that  uses the connection settings of a 
    previously used Wi-Fi function. ( l150)

    Setting Up a Wi-Fi Connection
    ≥When this unit is turned on, the  Wi-Fi setting confirmation screen may be displayed. Touch 
    [YES], and set up Wi-Fi setting.
    ≥ To set up the Wi-Fi setting of this unit using the smartphone a pplication “Image App”, touch 
    [YES] again. (Refer to “Using the [Wi-Fi Easy Setup] to set up  a connection” on page 143.)
    ≥ To set up Wi-Fi using this unit, touch [NO]. (Refer to “Connect ing to a wireless access point” 
    on page  145.)

    connected to a destination device after completing a

    Using the [Wi-Fi Easy Setup] to set up a connection
    With the smartphone application “Image App”, you can transfer the following information between 
    the smartphone and this unit by using the NFC or QR code functi on.
    * Acquire a Login ID and Password for the “LUMIX CLUB” on this u nit in advance.
    ≥ Install the smartphone application “Image App” on your smartpho ne. (l141)
    ∫ If the device is Android (NFC-compatible)
    ≥Set the NFC function of the smartphone to on.
    1Press Wi-Fi button on this unit and touch [Wi-Fi Setup]. 
    2Touch [Wi-Fi Easy Setup].≥Touch [YES].
    3Start up the smartphone application “Image App”.
    4Touch the smartphone on   of this unit.≥Touch the NFC touch area when the NFC mark is displayed on the  smartphone screen.
    ≥ If this is the first time the sm artphone is connecting to this  unit, touch [YES] on the screen of this 
    unit, and then touch the smartphone on   of this unit again.
    ≥ The setup screen is displayed on the smartphone.
    5Follow the on-screen instructions of the smartphone to set up a connection.≥When the settings is complete, the smartphone and this unit are  connected directly, allowing you 
    to use remote operations. ( l11 6 )

    1Press Wi-Fi button on this unit and touch [Wi-Fi Setup].

    When [QR code] is selected
    1Start up the smartphone application “Image App”.
    2 On the smartphone, select [QR code] to scan the QR code displayed on the 
    screen of this unit.
    ≥The setup screen is displayed on the smartphone.
    ≥ When using an iOS device, perform the following operations:
    1 Select the option that allows you to install the app on the pro file screen of the “Image App”, and 
    follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
    2 Press the home button to close the displayed screen.
    3 Touch [NEXT] on the screen of t his unit to display its SSID.
    4 After selecting the network name (SSID) of this unit from the W i-Fi setup of the smartphone, 
    start up “Image App”.
    3 Follow the on-screen instructions of the smartphone to set up a connection.≥When the settings is complete, the smartphone and this unit are  connected directly, allowing you 
    to use remote operations. ( l11 6 )
    When [Wi-Fi] is selected≥If you are using an Android device, start up the smartphone app lication “Image App”.
    1(If the device is Android)On the smartphone, select [Wi-Fi], and select the SSID displaye d on this unit.(If the device is iOS)On the smartphone, select the SSID displayed on this unit from  the Wi-Fi 
    setup menu.

    After entering the Password displayed on this unit, start up th e “Image App”.
    3 Follow the on-screen instructions of the smartphone to set up a connection.

    Connecting to a wireless access point
    Check if the wireless access point you are using is compatible with WPSjIf the wireless access poin t is compatible with WPS:
    Proceed to the following [WPS Connection]
    j If the wireless access point is not compatible with WPS:
    “Searching for wireless access points to set up a connection” ( l146 )
    1Press Wi-Fi button on this unit. ≥When the Wi-Fi button is pressed for the first time, a message is displayed. Touch [YES], and 
    proceed to step 5.
    2Touch [Wi-Fi Setup].
    3Touch [Wireless Settings].
    4Touch the part with no display of a wireless 
    access point.
    ≥For information on how to delete wireless access points or 
    change the search order of wireless access points, please 
    refer to [Wireless Settings] on page  153.
    5Touch [WPS Connection].
    6Set the wireless access point to waiting for WPS.≥For further details, please read the operating instructions for  the 
    wireless access point. (When using a tethering connection, plea se 
    read the operating instructions for the smartphone.)
    ≥ A message is displayed when the connection is complete. Touch 
    [ENTER], and exit [Wireless Settings].
    ≥ A message is displayed when the connection attempt fails. Touch  
    [ENTER], and set the connection again.
    Enter a PIN code to set the Wi-Fi connection
    1 Touch [PIN code] in Step 6.
    2 Touch the wireless access point to be connected.
    ≥If you touch [Refresh], you can search for wireless access poin ts again.
    ≥ If you touch   and select a wireless access point, all character s will be displayed. In this 
    case, touch [ENTER].
    3 Enter the PIN code displayed on this unit screen into the wirel ess access point.≥For further details, please read the operating instructions for  the wireless access point. (When 
    using a tethering connection, please read the operating instruc tions for the smartphone.)
    4Touch [NEXT].≥A message is displayed when the connection is complete. Touch [ ENTER], and exit [Wireless 
    Settings].
    ≥ A message is displayed when the connection attempt fails. Touch  [ENTER], and set the 
    connection again.

    2Touch [Wi-Fi Setup].
    3Touch [Wireless Settings].
    4Touch the part with no display of a wireless

    refer to [Wireless Settings] on page  153.
    5Touch [Search for wireless network].
    6Touch the wireless access point to connect.≥If you touch [Refresh], you can search for wireless access 
    points again.
    ≥ If you touch   and select a wireless access point, all character s will be displayed. In this 
    case, touch [ENTER].
    ≥ When no wireless access points are displayed, refer to “Setting  up a connection manually”.

    displayed. Touch [ENTER], and exit [Wireless Settings].

    method, Encryption type, and Encryption key (Password) of the w ireless access point you are 
    using.

    proceed to step 5.

    ≥Check the wireless access points instruction manual and setting s when a saving wireless access 
    point.
    ≥ The Encryption methods are [AES], [TKIP] and [WEP] in descendin g order of strength. We 
    recommend you connect with the strongest possible Encryption me thod.
    ≥ When the signal of the wireless access point is weak, a connect ion may not be established. Refer 
    to “Messages” ( l174) and “Troubleshooting” ( l176) for details.
    ≥ Transmission speed may decrease, or may not be usable depending  on the environment it is 
    used in.
    Setting up a direct connection to a smartphone
    Check if the smartphone you are using is compatible with WPS≥ [HC-V270PP] : 
    Enter SSID and Password or scan QR code to connect.
    jIf the smartphone is compatible with WPS:
    Proceed to the following [WPS Connection]
    j If the smartphone is not compatible with WPS:
    Proceed to the “Connecting with QR code” ( l149)
    1Press Wi-Fi button on this unit and touch [Wi-Fi Setup]. 
    2Touch [Direct Connection].
    3Touch [Change connection type].
    4Touch [WPS Connection].
    5Set the smartphone to WPS Mode.

    Connecting from the history
    Each use of a Wi-Fi function is stored in the Wi-Fi connection history. Connecting from the history 
    allows you to easily set up a connection using the previous con nection settings.
    1Press Wi-Fi button on this unit and touch [History]. 
    2Touch the desired item to be connected.≥The history of Wi-Fi functions and connection destinations that  have been used is displayed as a 
    list.
    ≥ For periods when a smartphone, etc. and this unit were connecte d directly, only the list of Wi-Fi 
    functions is displayed.
    ≥ To display the connection details, touch [DETAIL].
    3Touch [ENTER].≥When the connection is complete, a message will be displayed an d the screen will switch to the 
    Wi-Fi function screen selected in step 2. Perform the operation of the selected Wi-Fi function.
    ≥ If you have selected [Link to Cell], start up the smartphone ap plication “Image App” after checking 
    that “Under remote control” is displayed on the LCD monitor.
    If the connection cannot be established, check the Wi-Fi setup  of the smartphone.
    ≥The history can store up to 8 most-recently used Wi-Fi connecti ons.
    ≥ If you set up a Wi-Fi connection from [Wireless Settings] in [W i-Fi Setup], the Wi-Fi connection 
    will not be stored in the history.
