- 111 - Wi-Fi ∫Operations you can perform on a smartphone •Read the [Help] in the “LUMIX LINK” menu for further details on how to operate. ∫ About the smartphone screen FeatureDescription of functions Wireless shooting You can take pictures by controlling the camera from a smartphone. • This function is useful for taking group pictures or for taking pictures remotely from a location away from the camera. •Recorded images are saved in the camera. Playing back images on a smartphone screenYou can play back images in the camera on a smartphone screen. • Motion pictures cannot be played back. Save the motion pictures in a smartphone, and then play back. Saving images on a smartphoneYou can save images in the camera on a smartphone. Uploading photos on SNS (Social Networking Service) You can upload images in the camera or a smartphone on SNS. Setting the menu items You can set the camera’s menu items on a smartphone. Recording location information Using the location information function of a smartphone, you can record location information onto the images taken by the camera. ¢ The screen differs depending on the operating system. 1Number of recordable pictures 2 Camera battery indication 3 Zoom • Two zoom speeds are selectable. •When zooming, a zoom indicator bar appears at the bottom of the recording screen. 4Shutter •Pictures are recorded according to the Normal Picture Mode settings on the camera. (P109)2Select [Time sync] on the smartphone. •Adjust the clock setting of this unit to that of the smartphone. The process may take several tens of seconds. 3Turn on [Rec. loc. Info] on the smartphone. •End [Remote Control] by pressing [ ]. 4Take a picture on this unit. •To correctly record the location information onto pictures, perform the following operations before shooting: –Set the time and date of the smartphone same as those of this unit.–If the smartphone’s [Rec. loc. Info] is turned on. –Bring the smartphone to a close proximity of the camera. 5Connect this unit and the smartphone. (P109)6Select [Send location data] on the smartphone. •The smartphone sends the acquired location information to the card in this unit.•When the transfer of location information to the card in this unit is complete, the confirmation screen is displayed on the smartphone. Select wh ether to delete location information from the smartphone. •Refer to P92 to record the location information on the pictures taken by this unit. Note •If you have changed the clock setting of this unit or the smartphone after [Time sync], perform [Time sync] again. •On the smartphone, you can set the acquisition interval of location information and check the transfer status of location information. Refer to [Help] in the “LUMIX LINK” menu for details. •The smartphone may fail to acquire location information in China and the border area in the neighbouring countries of China. - 113 - Wi-Fi Preparation before sending images Refer to the following if you are going to send images by using [Send Image] (P117) or [Smart Transfer] (P122). • [Smart Transfer] is not applicable to images in the built-in memory. You can copy the images from the built-in memory to a memory card to use [Smart Transfer]. A network connection is necessary between the equipment you wish to connect ([Home], [External], or [PC]) and the access point. When sending images to [Cloud Sync. Service], [WEB service] or [External] in [AV device] •You need to create a “LUMIX CLUB” account. Refer to P129. When sending images to [WEB service] •Perform “Using WEB services” (P115) to save the WEB service being used. When sending images to a [PC] •Turn the computer on. ∫ To create a folder that receives images •Create a user account [account name (up to 256 characters) and password (up to 32 characters)] consisting of alphanumeric characters. An attempt to create a receive folder may fail if the account includes non-alphanumeric characters. When using “ PHOTOfunSTUDIO ”1Install “ PHOTOfunSTUDIO ” to the PC. •For details on hardware requirements and installation, read “Basic Owner’s Manual”. 2Create a folder that receives images with “ PHOTOfunSTUDIO ”. •To create the folder automatically, select [Auto-create]. To specify a folder, create a new folder, or set a password to the folder, select [Create manually]. •For details, refer to the operating instructions of “ PHOTOfunSTUDIO ” (PDF). - 115 - Wi-Fi ∫About the images sent to a Cloud Folder by the use of [Cloud Sync. Service] (As of August 2012) • To send images to a PC, Cloud Sync. setting is required. Configure the settings on a PC with PHOTOfunSTUDIO or on a smartphone with “LUMIX LINK”. •When you set the destination of [Send Image] or [Smart Transfer] to [Cloud Sync. Service], transferred images are stored temporarily in a Cloud Folder. You can synchronize transferred images with the devices you are using, such as PC, smartphone, etc. •A Cloud Folder stores transferred images for 30 days (up to 1000 pictures). Transferred images are deleted automatically 30 days after the transfer. Furthermore, when the number of stored images exceeds 1000, some images may be deleted depending on the [Cloud Limit] (P118, 123) setting even within 30 days after the transfer. •When the download of images from a Cloud Folder to all specified devices is complete, images may be deleted from the Cloud Folder even within 30 days after the transfer. ∫ Using WEB services When sending images to WEB services, such as Facebook or YouTube, the WEB service being used must be registered with the “LUMIX CLUB”. Registering multiple WEB services will send images to all services simultaneously. • Check the “FAQ/Contact us” on the following site for compatible WEB services. http://lumixclub.panasonic.net/eng/c/ Preparation: Make sure that you have created an account on the WEB service you want to use, and have the login information available. 1Connect to the “LUMIX CLUB” site using a smartphone or computer.http://lumixclub.panasonic.net/eng/c/ 2Enter your “LUMIX CLUB” login ID and password and log in to the service. (P129)3Save your email address.4Select the WEB service to be used and save it. •Follow the instructions on the screen to save the service.

- 116 - Wi-Fi Note •Images uploaded to the WEB Service cannot be displayed or deleted with this camera. Check images by accessing the WEB Service with your smartphone or computer. •If sending images fails, a report email outlining the failure will be sent to the email address registered with “LUMIX CLUB”. •It is recommended to use a fully charged battery when sending images.•Pictures cannot be sent when the battery indication turns red and blinks.•Sending images will be canceled if the battery indicator turns red and blinks while sending images. Pictures that could not be sent will not be deselected. •If the sending notification is not displayed when sending images to the WEB service via a smartphone, reconnect the smartphone. (P109) •When sending images on a mobile network, high packet communication fees may be incurred depending on the details of your contract. •Do not remove the memory card or battery or move to an area without any reception while sending images. •Details of the playback menu [Favorite] or [Print Set] settings will not be sent.•Pictures may not be completely sent depending on radio wave conditions. If the connection is terminated while sending pictures, pictures with missing sections may be sent. •Some images taken with a different camera may not be able to be sent.•Images that have been modified or edited with a computer may not be able to be sent.•Refer to the manual of the destination equipment or the WEB service for more information on how to playback pictures. •The LCD monitor display may become distorted for an instant while connected to the service, however this will not affect the image being sent. •Images may contain personal information that can be used to identify the user, such as a title, the time and date when the images was taken, and the location where the image was taken. Check this information before uploading images to WEB services. •Panasonic assumes no responsibility for the damages resulting from the leakage, loss, etc. of images uploaded on WEB services. •When uploading images to the WEB Service, do not delete images from this camera, even after they have finished sending, until you have checked that they have been properly uploaded to the WEB Service. Panasonic assumes no responsibility for the damages resulting from the deletion of images stored in this unit.

- 117 - Wi-Fi To send images •The Wi-Fi connection setup screen is displayed if you have not done the Wi-Fi setup yet. Follow the on-screen instruction to configure. Preparation: Refer to “Preparation before sending images” on P113. 1Select [Send Image] in the [Wi-Fi] menu. (P41) •The destination confirmation screen is displayed. Select [Yes]. 2Press 3/4 to select [SINGLE] or [MULTI], and press [MENU/SET]. 3Select the image. When [SINGLE] is selected1Press 2/1 to select the image. 2Press [MENU/SET]. When [MULTI] is selected 1Press 3/4 /2 /1 to select the image, and press [DISP.]. (repeat this step)2Press [MENU/SET]. •A message is displayed when the image has been sent. Press [MENU/SET]. Note •When [Destination] is set to [PC], images are saved in the folder you have created for receiving. (P113)•You can set up to 50 images at once by using [MULTI].

The aspect ratio does not change. [Delete Location Data] ¢ 2 Select whether to delete the location information from images before sending them. [ON]: Delete the location information, then send. [OFF]: Keep the location information and send. •This operation only deletes the location information from the images that are set to be sent. (The location information will not be deleted from the original images stored in this unit.) [Cloud Limit] ¢ 3 You can select whether to send images when the Cloud Folder runs out of free space. [ON]: Do not send images. [OFF]: Delete images from the oldest ones, then send new images. [Exit] Exit the destination setting menu. ¢ 1 Only available when [Destination] is set to [WEB service]. ¢ 2 Only available when [Destination] is set to [Cloud Sync. Service], [WEB service], or [External] in [AV device]. ¢ 3 Only available when [Destination] is set to [Cloud Sync. Service].

Preparation: Set the TV to DLNA waiting Mode. •Read the operating instructions for your TV. Select [Wireless TV Playback] in the [Wi-Fi] menu. (P41) •If you have already set the connection destination, the confirmation screen is displayed.
