Create an outline copy of a photograph to use as a base for 
painting.
 The effect can be previewed in the edit display. Press 
J  to copy the photograph.
Create a copy of a photograph that resembles a sketch made 
with colored pencils.
 Press  1 or  3 to highlight  Vividness or 
Outlines  and press  4 or  2 to change.
 Vividness can be 
increased to make colors more saturated, or decreased for a 
washed-out, monochromatic effect, while outlines can be made 
thicker or thinner.

Create a copy that appears to be a photo of a diorama. Works best with photos taken 
from a high vantage point.
 The area that will be in focus in the copy is indicated by a 
yellow frame.

5Choose the color range.
Press 1 or  3 to increase or decrease the 
range of similar hues that will be included in 
the final photograph or movie.

values between 1 and 7; note that higher 
values may include hues from other colors.

To select additional colors, rotate the main 
command dial to highlight another of the

Compare retouched copies to the original photographs. This option is only available 
if  J  or  c (b ) button is pressed to display the re touch menu when a copy or original 
is played back full frame.
1Select a picture.
In full-frame playback, select a retouched copy 
(shown by a  o icon) or a photograph that has 
been retouched and press  J or  c (b ).
2Select  Side-by-side comparison .
Highlight Side-by-side comparison  and press

OMy Menu / mRecent Settings
To display My Menu, press  G and select the  O (My Menu) tab.
The  My Menu  option can be used to create and edit a customized list of options from 
the playback, shooting, Custom Settings,  setup, and retouch menus for quick access 
(up to 20 items).
 If desired, recent settings can be displayed in place of My Menu 
( 0 283).
Options can be added, deleted,  and reordered as described below.

1Select  Add items .
In My Menu ( O), highlight  Add...

The items currently displayed in My Menu 
are indicated by a check mark.
 Items

Repeat steps 1–4 to select additional items.
❚❚ Deleting Options from My Menu
1Select  Remove items .
In My Menu (O), highlight  Remove items  and press 2.
2Select items.
Highlight items and press  2 to select or 
deselect.

check mark.
3Select  Done.

❚❚Reordering Options in My Menu
1Select  Rank items .
In My Menu ( O), highlight  Rank items  and press 2.
2Select an item.
Highlight the item you wish to move and 
press  J.
3Position the item.
Press  1 or 3 to move the item up or down 
in My Menu and press  J.
 Repeat Steps 2–3 
to reposition additional items.
4Exit to My Menu.
Press the  G button to return to My Menu.

Recent Settings
To display the twenty most recently used settings, select mRecent settings  for 
O My Menu  > Choose tab .
1Select Choose tab .
In My Menu ( O), highlight  Choose tab  and 
press  2.
2Select  mRecent settings .
Highlight mRecent settings  and press J. 
The name of the menu will change from “MY 
MENU” to “RECENT SETTINGS.”
Menu items will be added to the top of the recent settings menu as they are used.
 To  
view My Menu again, select  OMy Menu  for mRecent settings  > Choose tab ....
