Various messages will appear in the display to warn
of certain problems. The section “Display
messages” explains how to respond to these.

display, but can be dealt with...

^Disconnect the machine from the mains. Switch
off at the wall and withdraw the plug from the
socket, or disconnect the mains fuse or remove
the screw-out fuse in countries where this is
applicable.
^Open the front of the machine.
^Insert a small screwdriver in the opening and
carefully push it upwardsa.
^Flip the lamp cover forwards and downwardsb.
^Rotate the lamp forwardsaand carefully pull it

machine will remain switched off until the water
has cooled down sufficiently.

beans have been ground and there is sufficient
water in the water container.
^Check whether the slide control for the fineness of
the coffee is at the finest setting or if the slide
control for the amount of coffee to be ground has
been set at the largest amount.
Because the process is time controlled it is possible
that the process has taken so long that there is no
time left for brewing.
^Select a slightly coarser coffee grinder setting or a

unit has been taken out.
If the brew unit is still not removable, then it is not in
the right position.

funnel must be set a little higher and the socket

Non-rewireable plugs BS 1363
The fuse cover must be refitted when changing the
fuse, and if the fuse cover is lost, the plug must not
be used until a suitable replacement is obtained.
The colour of the correct replacement cover is that
of the coloured insert in the base of the plug, or the
colour that is embossed in words on the base of the
plug (as applicable to the design of plug fitted).
