51 Wi-Fi To use Wi-Fi on your phone, you nee\f access to a wireless access point, or “hotspot.” Some access points are open an\f you can simply connect to them. Others are hi\f\fen or implement other security \beatures, so you must con\bigure your phone in or\fer to connect to them. Turn on Wi-Fi From the Home Screen, touch an\f \frag the Status Bar \fownwar\f to open the Noti\bications Panel an\f tap to turn Wi-Fi on. OR Tap the Menu Key an\f tap System settings > Wi-Fi. Then \frag to the right to turn Wi-Fi on. To connect to a Wi-Fi Net\bork 1 From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key an\f tap System settings > Wi-Fi. 2 Make sure Wi-Fi is on. Then tap the \fevice you want to sen\f \fata to \brom the list. * Sending multi-selected contacts: Open the Contacts application. To select more than one contact, tap the Menu Key an\f tap Share. Tap the contacts you want to sen\f or tap Select all > Attach > Bluetooth. Check i\b Bluetooth is turne\f on an\f tap Search \for devices. Then tap the \fevice you want to sen\f \fata to \brom the list. * Connecting to FTP (Only i\f the FTP server is supported on your handset): From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key an\f tap System settings > Bluetooth. 54 Connectin\b to Networks and Devices Tethering You can use your phone to provi\fe a \fata connection to a computer by activating \fata tethering an\f connecting the phone an\f computer with a USB cable. To tether your phone \bith your computer using the USB 1 Connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable. 2 Tap the Menu Key > System settings > More > USB Tethering & Mobile HotSpot > USB tethering. A checkmark in\ficates that the \bunction is active. NOTE- To use your phone’s tethering capability, you must have the Smartphone Mobile Hotspot service a\f\fe\f to your rate plan. Per\bormance may vary \fepen\fing on the num\rber o\b \fevices connecte\f an\f other \bactors. - You cannot access your phone’s microSD car\f on your computer when using USB tethering.
55 Smartphone Mobile Hotspots You can also use your phone to provi\fe a mobile broa\fban\f connection \bor up to 8 other \fevices. Create a hotspot an\f share your connection. To create a portable hotspot, tap the Menu Key > System settings > More > USB Tethering & Mobile HotSpot > Mobile HotSpot. A checkmark in\ficates that the \bunction is active. Then tap Con\figure Mobile HotSpot an\f set a passwor\f upon \birst use. NOTETo use your phone’s Hotspot capability, you must have the Smartphone Mobile Hotspot service a\f\fe\f to your rate plan. In a\f\fition, your Smartphone Mobile Hotspot service cannot be use\f at the same time as Wi-Fi. Please close your WiFi connection prior to launching this service. Per\bormance may vary \fepen\fing on the n\rumber o\b \fevices connecte\f an\f other \bactors. I\b you \fo not use a passwor\f, other unauthorize\f \fevices be able to use your Mobile Hotspot connection.
56 Connectin\b to Networks and Devices Wi-Fi Direct Learn to use the Wi-Fi Direct \beature to connect two \fevices via Wi-Fi without requiring an access point. Connect your device to another Wi-Fi device 1 From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > System settings > More > Wi-Fi Direct. 2 Tap the Wi-Fi Direct checkbox to activate the \bunction. 3 Select a \fevice an\f then select Connect. When the owner o\b the other \fevice accepts the connection, pairing is complete. 4 To \feactivate the Wi-Fi Direct \beature, unmark the Wi-Fi Direct checkbox. FileShare Fileshare in \bile sharing application which is provi\fe\f auto connection base\f on Wi-Fi Direct. Choose the types o\b content you woul\f like to share. Choose \brom Pictures, Vi\feos, Music an\f Document. Send data 1 From the Home screen, tap Apps > FileShare . 2 Select one o\b images, vi\feos, music or \focuments category to sen\f. 3 Tap to select the \biles you want to sen\f. 4 Tap the \biles you want to sen\f. Then tap Send an\f select the \fevice to sen\f them to. Tap the Menu Key > Settings to set various FileShare options.
57 Calls Making a call 1 From the Home screen, tap Phone to open the keypa\f. 2 Enter the number on the keypa\f. To \felete a \figit, tap Clear . 3 Tap Call to make a call. 4 To en\f a call, tap End . TIP To enter “+” to make international calls, touch an\f hol\f \f Calling your contacts 1 From the Home screen, tap Apps an\f then tap Contacts to open your contacts. 2 Scroll through the contact list or tap the Search contacts box an\f enter the \birst letter(s) o\b the contact you want to call. You can also tap a letter along the right si\fe o\b the screen to access names starting with the chosen letter. 3 In the list that is \fisplaye\f, tap the contact you want to call. 4 In the Contact In\bo screen, tap the phone number you wish to call. Ans\bering and rejecting a call When the screen is locked When your phone rings, swipe Ans\ber in any \firection to answer the incoming call. Swipe Decline in any \firection to reject an incoming call. When the screen is unlocked When your phone rings, tap Ans\ber . Tap Decline icon to reject an incoming call. NOTE Tap or swipe Quick msg i\b you want to sen\f a message to the caller. I\b the caller is unknown, this option is not available .
58 Adjusting the in-call volume To a\fjust the in-call volume \furing a call, use the volume up an\f \fown keys on the le\bt si\fe o\b the phone. Making a second call 1 During your initial call, tap the Menu Key an\f select Add call. 2 Dial the number or search your contacts. 3 Tap Call to connect the call. 4 Both calls will be \fisplaye\f on the call screen. Your initial call will be put on hol\f. 5 Tap the Call entry on the screen to toggle between active calls or tap Merge call to merge the calls. 6 To en\f active calls, tap End . I\b there is no active call, it will en\f the call on Hol\f. Ending a Call Tap End to en\f a call. NOTE To re\fial recent numbers, touch Redial at the en\f o\b the call or \bin\f the number within the Logs list, touch the entry an\f touch Call .
