Network Status (Printing the network status page)
The network status page contains detailed information on the network 
settings.  This is primarily used for maintenance by service personnel, but 
it contains information that may also be useful to you.
1In the Service Setting menu, press U or V to select Network 
Status.
2Press [OK]. A confirmation screen appears.
If Job Accounting is enabled, a confirmation screen appears after 
department login.

Drum (Drum/Refresh mode setting)
This sets the refresh mode for the drum. When the printing quality 
declines, refreshing the drum can restore the printing quality. This is 
primarily used for maintenance by service personnel.
1In the Service Setting menu, press U or V to select Drum.
2Press [OK]. A confirmation screen appears.
Press [Yes] ([Left Select]). Carry out drum refresh.

First Print Pos. (First Print Position setting)
Using this function speeds up either of the first print time of black and 
white printing or color printing by changing the default start position of the 
first print. In addition, the machine can automatically detect the 
appropriate position depending on your usage.

General Information
This chapter describes basic maintenance tasks you can perform on the 
printer. You can replace the following component according to the 
printer’s display:
• Toner Kits
• Waste Toner Box
Also, the following parts need periodic cleaning:
• Separator
• Transfer Roller

The toner container in the printer should be replaced as soon as the

Toner Kits
For best results, we recommend that you only use genuine Kyocera Mita 
Parts and Supplies.
The toner kits are supplied in 4 different colors: cyan, magenta, yellow 
and black.
A new toner kit for each color contains the following items:
• Toner Container
• Waste Toner Box
• Plastic waste bags for old toner container and old waste toner box

2Turn the black (K) toner container release lever to the vertical 
position.
3Open the provided plastic disposal bag and place it at the toner 
container slot.
Pull out the old toner container in the bag as far as it will go.
4Remove the old toner container by holding the handle and place it in 
the provided plastic disposal bag.
5Take the new toner container out of the toner kit.
6Hold the new toner container with both hands and shake it from side 
to side several times so that the toner...

7Hold the new toner container with both hands and gently push it in.
8Turn the toner container release lever to the horizontal position.
Use the same procedure to replace the toner containers of the other 
colors.
9Close the front cover.
Proceed to the next section.
Note  After use, always dispose of the toner container and 
the waste toner box in accordance with Federal, State and 
Local rules and regulations.

Replacing the Waste Toner Box
Replace the waste toner box when the Check waste toner box. 
Message is displayed. A new waste toner box is included with the toner 
kit. The waste toner box needs to be replaced before the printer will 
operate.
1Open the front cover. 
2Press the release button and pull out the waste toner tray.
3Cap the old waste toner box.
4Remove the old waste toner box diagonally.
5Place the old waste toner box in the provided plastic disposal bag.
