General guidelines for media
Before purchasing any paper or specialized forms in quantity, verify that your paper supplier has
obtained and understands the print-media requirements that are specified in the HP LaserJet Printer
Family Print Media Guide .

●Do not use any media that produces hazardous emissi
ons, or that melts, offsets, or discolors when
exposed to the temperature of the fuser.
● Do not use paper that is embossed or coated, or 
any media that is not designed to withstand the
fusing temperature of the device. Do not use lett erhead paper or preprinted forms that are made
with dyes or inks that cannot  withstand the heat of the fuser.

Media considerations
Envelopes
Envelope construction is critical. Envelope fold lines can vary considerably, not only between
manufacturers, but also within a box from the sa me manufacturer. Successful printing on envelopes
depends upon the quality of the envelopes. W hen selecting envelopes, consider the following
components:
● Weight
: The weight of the envelope paper should not exceed 105 g/m
2 (28 lb) or jamming might
occur.
