5. Für beste Mähergebnisse sollte der Motor immer mit vol-ler Drehzahl betrieben werden.
STOPP DES MOTORS
Der Motor kann unmittelbar nach demAusschalten sehr heiß sein.Schalldämpfer, Zylinder oder Kühlrippen nichtberühren. Dies kann zu Verbrennungen führen.
Den Start-/Stopp-Bügel G(Abb. 9) loslassen, um den Motorauszuschalten. 
Bei defektem Start-/Stopp-Bügel den Motordurch Abziehen des Zündkerzenkabels von derZündkerze stoppen. Der Rasenmäher mussunverzüglich in einer autorisierten Werkstattrepariert werden.
HINTERRADANTRIEB (*)
Zum Einschalten des Antriebes den Kupplungsbügel JzumHolm hin drücken. Den Antrieb durch Loslassen desKupplungsbügels Jwieder auskuppeln (Abb. 9).
GESCHWINDIGKEIT (*)
Den Geschwindigkeitsregler nicht berühren,wenn der Motor still steht.Hierdurch kann dessen Funktion beeinträchtigtwerden.
Eine geeignete Geschwindigkeit durch Verstellen desReglers in eine der vier Positionen wählen (Abb. 10).
Die verschiedenen Positionen haben folgende Gesch-windigkeiten:
Position : ca. 2,8 km/hPosition 2: ca. 3,1 km/hPosition 3: ca. 3,6 km/hPosition : ca. 4,5 km/h
SCHNITTHÖHE
Den Motor vor der Einstellung der Schnitthöheabstellen.Die Schnitthöhe nicht so niedrig einstellen, dassdas Schneidwerkzeug mit Unebenheiten desBodens in Berührung kommt.
Der Rasenmäher hat einen Ein-Hebel-Regler zum Einstellender Schnitthöhe. 
Den Hebel nach außen ziehen und eine der neun Positionenfür die Schnitthöhe einstellen, die für Ihren Rasen am bestengeeignet ist  (Abb. 11).
WARTUNG
WICHTIG – Eine regelmäßige und sorgfältige Wartung istfür ein Aufrechterhalten der Sicherheiten und ursprüng-lichen Leistungen der Maschine unabkömmlich.
Vor dem Beginn aller Reinigungs-, Wartungs- oder Einstell-arbeiten an der Maschine müssen feste Arbeitshandschuheangezogen werden.
Falls auf den unteren Teil zugegriffen werden muss, darf dieMaschine nur in die Richtung gekippt werden, die in derBedienungsanleitung des Motors angegeben ist, wobei fol-gende Anweisungen zu beachten sind.
REINIGUNG
Nach jedem Schneidevorgang muss die Maschine sorgfältiggewaschen werden; Grasreste und Erde, die sich imChassis angesammelt hat muss entfernt werden, da diesedas Anlassen nach dem Eintrocknen erschweren könnten.
Die Lackierung im Innenteil des Chassis kann sich im Laufeder Zeit durch den Abrieb des geschnittenen Grases lösen,hier müssen rechtzeitig Nachbesserungsarbeiten ausgeführtwerden, um eine Rostbildung zu vermeiden.
Die Getriebeabdeckung durch Lösen der Schrauben S(Abb.12) abnehmen und die Kraftübertragung (*) und denTreibriemen (*) ein-bis zweimal pro Jahr mit einer Bürsteoder Druckluft reinigen.
Einmal pro Jahr muss das Treibrad (*) innen gereinigt wer-den. Beide Räder demontieren. Das Zahnrad und denZahnkranz von Grasresten und Schmutz reinigen (Abb. 13). 
SCHMIEREN DER ANTRIEBSACHSE (*)
Einmal pro Jahr muss der Keil der Antriebsachse eingefettetwerden. Das Rad demontieren (Nebenkapsel, Schraube undScheibe). Danach den Zapfen und die Scheibe demontieren,so dass das Zahnrad von der Achse abgenommen werdenkann. Den Keil mit Universalfett einfetten.
Den Keil wieder montieren (der Keil wird auf der rechten undder linken Seite unterschiedlich montiert, Abb. 14-15). DasZahnrad so montieren, dass die Markierung «L» auf der lin-ken Seite nach außen weist und die Markierung «R» auf derrechten Seite (Maschine von hinten gesehen).
BATTERIE (*)
Bei normaler Anwendung während der Saison wird dieBatterie durch den Motor geladen. Lässt sich der Motornicht mit dem Zündschlüssel starten, muss die Batterieeventuell geladen werden.
Den Batteriekasten öffnen, den Anschlusskontakt zumMotor lösen und die Batterie herausziehen (Abb. 16). Das imLieferumfang enthaltene Ladegerät an die Batterie anschlie-ßen und danach den Netzstecker des Ladegerätes in dieSteckdose stecken und 24 Stunden laden (Abb. 17).

Nach dem Aufladen kann die Batterie wieder eingebaut undangeschlossen werden (Abb. 18). Das Batterieladegerät darfnicht direkt an den Anschluss des Motors angeschlossenwerden. Es ist nicht möglich, den Motor mit dem Ladegerätals Stromquelle zu starten, außerdem kann das Ladegerätdadurch beschädigt werden.
AUFBEWAHRUNG ÜBER DEN WINTER
Die Batterie ausbauen und gut aufgeladen über den Winteran einem trockenen und kühlen Ort (zwischen 0° C und +15°C) aufbewahren. Mindestens einmal während derWinterpause ist die Batterie aufzuladen.
Vor Saisonbeginn die Batterie noch einmal 24 Stunden auf-laden.
NACHSTELLEN DES KUPPLUNGSZUGES (*)
Wird der Antrieb nicht eingekuppelt, wenn derKupplungsbügel zum Holm hin gedrückt wird oder wenn derMäher kraftlos oder langsam erscheint, kann dies daran lie-gen, dass die Kupplung schleift. Um diesen Defekt zu behe-ben, den Kupplungszug folgendermaßen nachstellen (beiausgeschaltetem Motor):
1. Bei losgelassenem Kupplungsbügel muss sich dieMaschine leicht rückwärts rollen lassen. Wenn dies nichtder Fall ist, den Justiernippel Teindrehen, bis sich derMäher leicht rollen lässt (Abb. 19).
2. Ist der Kupplungsbügel ca. 2 cm gedrückt (Pos. 1), darfsich die Maschine nur schwer rollen lassen. Bei ganz her-untergedrückten Bügel (Pos. 2) darf sich die Maschinenicht rollen lassen. Den Justiernippel Tso lange heraus-schrauben, bis dies erreicht ist.
EINSTELLUNG DES VERSTELLERSEILZUGS (*)
Falls der Geschwindigkeitsunterschied zwischen denStellungen des Verstellers für die Höchstgeschwindigkeit(Positionen 3 und ) minimal oder Null ist, besteht dieMöglichkeit, dass der Verstellerseilzug gespannt werdenmuss (Abb. 10).
1. Den Rasenmäher für einige Minuten in der Stellung laufen lassen.
2. Wenn ein gewisses Spiel des Verstellerseilzugs beimNippel Yfestgestellt wird, muss der Seilzug gespanntwerden. Die Kontermutter Xlockern, und den Seilzugdurch Ausdrehen des Nippels Yspannen, bis am Seilzugkein Spiel mehr festgestellt werden kann.
3. Die Kontermutter Xfestziehen.
HINWEIS! Den Seilzug nur bis zu dem Punkt spannen, andem das Spiel am Nippel Ygleich null ist. Wenn der Seilzugzu stark gespannt wird, kann der Treibriemen reißen, bzw. eskönnten andere Teile des Antriebs beschädigt werden. Beider Einstellung nach beispielsweise einem Riemenwechselmuss immer mit einem vollständig eingeschraubten NippelYbegonnen werden.
STOSSDÄMPFER
Abb. 20. Kontrollieren Sie die Stoßdämpfer und Isolierhülsenzweimal pro Saison. Ersetzen Sie sie bei Beschädigung oderVerschleiß.
MESSERWECHSEL
Zum Auswechseln des Messers die Schraube lösen (Abb.21, 22). Das neue Messer mit dem eingestanzten Logo nachoben zur Messerhalterung hin (also nicht zum Erdboden hin)montieren. Gemäß Abbildung wieder einbauen. fest anzie-hen. Anzugsdrehmoment 40 Nm.
Beim Auswechseln des Messers ist auch der Messerbolzenauszuwechseln.
SCHLEIFEN DES MESSERS
Bei evtl. Schleifen ist mit einem Schleifstein nass zu schlei-fen.Aus Sicherheitsgründen darf das Messer nicht auf einerSchmirgelscheibe geschliffen werden. Durch die zu hoheTemperatur können die Messer spröde werden.
AUFBEWAHRUNG
Ein und dasselbe Benzin darf höchstens einen Monat imTank bleiben.
Den Rasenmäher gründlich reinigen und ihn in einem trok-kenen, geschlossenen Raum lagern.
SERVICE
Original-Ersatzteile erhalten Sie in autorisierten Service-werkstätten und bei vielen Fachhändlern.
Für den jährlichen Service, dir Wartung und zur  Kontrolleder Sicherheitsvorrichtungen sollte die Maschine zu einerServicestation gebracht werden.

SAFETY REGULATIONS
1) Read the instructions carefully. Get familiar
with the controls and proper use of the equipment.
Learn how to stop the engine quickly.
2) Only use the lawnmower for the purpose for
which it was designed, i.e. for cutting and col-
lecting grass. Any other use can be hazardous,
causing damage to the machine.
3) Never allow children or people unfamiliar with
these instructions to use the lawnmower. Local
regulations may restrict the age of the operator.
4) Never use the lawnmower:
– When people, especially children, or pets are
nearby.
– If the operator has taken medicine or substances
that can affect his ability to react and concentrate.
5) Remember that the operator or user is responsi-
ble for accidents or hazards occurring to other
people or their property.
1) While mowing, always wear sturdy footwear
and long trousers. Do not operate the equip-
ment when barefoot or wearing open sandals.
2) Thoroughly inspect the area where the equip-
ment is to be used and remove all objects which
may be thrown by the machine or damage the cut-
ter assembly and the engine (stones, sticks, metal
wire, bones, etc.) 
3) WARNING: DANGER! Engine fuel is highly
flammable:
– Store fuel in containers specifically designed for
this purpose.
– Refuel using a funnel and outdoors only. Do
not smoke while refuelling or whenever han-
dling the fuel.
– Add fuel before starting the engine. Never
remove the cap of the fuel tank or add fuel while
the engine is running or when the engine is hot.
– If fuel is spilled, do not attempt to start the
engine but move the machine away from the area
of spillage and avoid creating any source of ignition
until the fuel has evaporated and the vapour dis-
persed.
– Replace all fuel tanks and containers caps
securely.
4) Substitute faulty silencers.
5) Before use, always inspect the machine,
especially the condition of the blades, and
check that the screws and cutting assembly are
not worn or damaged. Replace worn or damaged
blades and screws in sets to preserve balance.
6) Before mowing, attach the discharge opening
guards (grass-catcher or stone-guard).
B) PREPARATION 
A) TRAINING1) Do not operate the engine in a confined space
where dangerous carbon monoxide fumes can col-
lect.
2) Mow only in daylight or good artificial light.
3) If possible, avoid operating the equipment in wet
grass.
4) Always be sure of your footing on slopes.
5) Walk, never run and do not allow yourself to be
pulled along by the lawnmower.
6) Mow across the face of slopes, never up and
down.
7) Exercise extreme caution when changing direc-
tion on slopes.
8) Do not mow on slopes of more than 20°.
9) Exercise extreme caution when pulling the lawn-
mower towards you.
10)  Stop the blade if the lawnmower has to be tilt-
ed for transportation when crossing surfaces other
than grass, and when transporting the lawnmower
to and from the area to be mowed.
11) Never operate the lawnmower with defective
guards, or without safety devices, such as the
stone-guard and/or grass-catcher, in place.
12) Do not change the engine governor settings or
overspeed the engine.
13) On power-driven models, disengage the drive
clutch before starting the engine.
14) Start the engine carefully, following the instruc-
tions and keeping feet well away from the blade. 
15) Do not tilt the lawnmower when starting the
engine. Start the engine on a flat surface that is free
of obstacles and tall grass.
16) Do not put hands or feet near or under rotat-
ing parts. Keep clear of the discharge opening at
all times.
17) Never pick up or carry a lawnmower while the
engine is running.
18) Stop the engine and disconnect the spark
plug wire:
– Before carrying out any work underneath the
cutting deck or before unclogging the chute;
– Before checking, cleaning or working on lawn-
mower;
– After striking a foreign object. Inspect the lawn-
mower for damage and make repairs before
restarting and operating the lawnmower;
– If the lawnmower starts to vibrate abnormally
(find and remove the cause of the vibration imme-
diately).
19) Stop the engine:
– Whenever you leave the lawnmower unattended.
Remove the key from models with electric starters.
– Before refuelling.
– Every time you remove or replace the grass-
catcher.
– Before adjusting the grass cutting height.
20) Reduce the throttle before turning off the

engine and turn the fuel off when you have finished
mowing, following the instructions in the engine
handbook.
21) When mowing, always keep to a safe distance
from the rotating blade. This distance is the length
of the handle.
1) Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure
the equipment is in safe working condition. Regular
maintenance is essential for safety and perform-
ance.
2) Never store the equipment with fuel in the tank
inside a building where vapour may reach a flame
or a spark or a source of extreme heat.
3) Allow the engine to cool before storing in an
enclosed space.
4) To reduce the fire hazard, keep the engine,
exhaust silencer, battery compartment and fuel
storage area free of grass, leaves, or excessive
grease. Do not leave containers with grass cut-
tings in rooms.
5) Check the stone-guard and grass-catcher fre-
quently for wear and deterioration.
6) If the fuel tank has to be drained, this should be
done outdoors and when the engine is cool.
7) Wear strong work gloves when removing and re-
assembling the blade.
8) Keep the blade balanced during sharpening.
All operations on the blade (dismantling, sharpen-
ing, balancing, remounting and/or replacing)
require a certain familiarity and special tools. For
safety reasons, these jobs are best carried out at a
specialized centre.
9) For reasons of safety, do not use the equip-
ment with worn or damaged parts. Parts are to
be replaced and not repaired. Use genuine
spare parts (blades should always bear the
symbol  ). Parts that are not of the same qual-
ity can damage the equipment and be danger-
ous for your safety.
1) Whenever the machine is to be handled, raised,
transported or tilted you must:
– wear strong working gloves;
– grasp the machine at the points that offer a safe
grip, taking account of the weight and its distribu-
tion.
– use an appropriate number of people for the
weight of the machine and the characteristics of
the vehicle or the place where it has to be placed
or collected.

D) MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
THE ENVIRONMENT
In order to protect the environment, we recom-
mend that the following points should be given
special consideration:
• Always use pure unleaded petrol. 
• Always use a funnel and/or a petrol can with a
level control to avoid spillage when refilling the
fuel tank.
• Do not fill the fuel tank completely.
• Do not overfill with engine and/or transmission
oil.
• When changing the oil, ensure that all the used
oil is collected. Avoid spillage. Take the used oil
to a recycling unit.
• Do not dispose of used oil filter in a rubbish bin.
Take it to a recycming unit.
• Do not dispose of used lead-acid batteries in a
rubbish bin. Take them to a battery collection
point for recycling (applies to battery-powered
machines and machines with battery start).
• Replace the silencer if faulty. When carrying out
repairs, always use original spare parts.
• If the machines was originally equipped with a
catalyser which is now faulty, a new one must
be fitted when the silencer is replaced.
• Always seek professional help when the carbu-
rettor requires adjustment.
• Clean the air filter according to the directions.
• When, after many years of service, your
machine needs to be replaced or is no longer
required, we recommended that the machine is
returned to your distributor for recycling.
PRODUCT IDENTITY
The identity of the product is determined by the
article and serial numbers of the machine.
These can be found on the label fixed to the chas-
sis of the machine:
Use this identification whenever you contact a
service workshop or buy replacement parts.
As soon as possible after buying the machine,
write the above numbers on the back page of this
booklet.
The manufacturer reserves the right to make

HANDLE (Type I-II)
1. Fold up the lower part of the handle.
2. Secure the upper part of the handle with wash-ers and locking wheels. There is a lug on theright hand side for the starter handle (fig. 1).
3. Then tighten the locking wheels onto the lowerpart of the handle. When these have been tight-ened, the height of the handle can be adjustedby tightening the screws Awith the wrench pro-vided. (fig. 2)
HANDLE (Type III)
1. Unscrew the locking wheels from the chassisand secure the lower part of the handle ontoscrews B(fig. 3).

2. Secure the upper part of the handle with wash-
ers and locking wheels. There is a lug on the
right hand side for the starter handle (fig. 1).
3. Then tighten the locking wheels onto the lower
part of the handle. When these have been tight-
ened, the height of the handle can be adjusted.
CABLE HOLDER
Secure the cables in the cable holders (fig. 4):
D:Start/Stop cable + Clutch cable (*)
E:Throttle cable (*) + Clutch cable (*)
F:Electric cable (*) + Variator cable (*)
VARIATOR CONTROL (*)
When the mower is delivered, the variator cable is
set so that the transmission cannot be damaged.
The cable may need tightening, see under heading
“ADJUSTING VARIATOR CABLE“ in the section
“MAINTENANCE“.
GRASS COLLECTOR
Raise the collector flap and attach the two brack-
ets to the grass collector with the screws provided.
The brackets are marked with «L» and «R» and
should be installed at the corresponding mark on
the rear of the mower (fig. 5).
Fabric grass collector (*): Fit the fabric bag over
the steel frame and then snap the bag onto the
plastic lid (fig. 6).
Plastic grass collector (*):Snap together both
halves and then the upper part (fig. 7).
Open the flap on the machine and attach the grass
collector to the brackets.
NOTE! The lawnmower can be operated without
the grass collector. The grass is then left in a line
behind the machine.
BATTERY (*)
The electrolyte in the battery is toxic and
corrosive. It can cause serious corrosion
damage etc. Avoid all contact with skin,
eyes and clothing.
Before starting for the first time the battery should
be charged for 24 hours, see further information
under the heading MAINTENANCE, BATTERY.
Insert ignition key (*) into the ignition lock.USING THE MOWER 
COMBI (*)
Your new lawnmower combines two different func-
tions in the same machine:
1. “MULCHING“
The machine comes equipped with a plug (P),
installed in the ejector opening (fig. 8). The machine
can be used for ‘Mulching’ i.e. the blade finely cuts
up the grass during mowing. The grass then falls
into the lawn where it is allowed to rot.
This provides the lawn with nourishment.
To remove the plug, press in the catch (R- fig. 8a).
On reinstalling the plug ensure that both pins are
pressed firmly into the holes so that the plug snaps
in place.
43 cm Combi:
To remove the plug, unscrew the wing nut (fig. 8b).
2. COLLECTION
Assemble the grass collector provided (fig. 6, 7).
Open the flap, remove the plug and instead hook
the collector onto the rear of the machine.
When mowing, the grass is collected in the collec-
tor.
Empty the grass onto the compost heap or spread
it over borders as fertiliser. The machine is also
ideal for collecting up leaves in the autumn.
3. REAR EJECTION
Use the mower without the plug or the grass col-
lector (flap closed). The grass is released behind
the machine without being cut up.
STARTING THE ENGINE
1. Place the lawnmower on flat, firm ground. Do
not start in long grass.
2. Make sure the spark plug cable is connected to
the spark plug.
3. Press in the Start/Stop loop Gtowards the han-
dle. NOTE! The Start/Stop loop Gmust be kept
pressed in to prevent the engine stopping (fig.
9).
4a Manual start: Grasp the starter handle and start
the engine by pulling briskly on the starter cord.
4b Electric start (K*): Start the engine by turning
the ignition key clockwise. Release the key as
soon as the engine starts. Always make short
attempts at starting in order to prevent dis-
charging the battery.

5. For the best mowing results, the engine shouldalways be driven at full throttle.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
The engine may be very warm immedi-ately after it is shut off. Do not touch thesilencer, cylinder or cooling flanges. Thiscan cause burn injuries.
Release the Start/Stop loopG(fig. 9) to stop theengine. 
If the start/stop loop ceases to work,stop the engine by removing the sparkplug cable from the spark plug.Immediately take the lawn mower to anauthorised workshop for repair.
REAR WHEEL DRIVE (*)
Engage the drive by pressing the clutch loop Jtowards the handle. Disengage the drive by releas-ing the clutch loop J(fig. 9).
SPEED (*)
Do not touch the variator control whenthe engine is not running. This can dam-age the operation of the variator.
Set to a suitable speed by moving the variator con-trol to one of the 4 positions (fig. 10).
The various positions have the following speeds:
Position  : approx. 2.8 km/hPosition 2: approx. 3.1 km/hPosition 3: approx. 3.6 km/hPosition    : approx. 4.5 km/h
CUTTING HEIGHT
Do not set the cutting height so low thatthe blade(s) come into contact withuneven ground.
The mower has single-lever control for adjustingthe cutting height. Pull the lever out, and set thecutting height to one of the nine positions bestsuited to your lawn (fig. 11).
MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT – Regular, careful maintenance isessential for keeping the safety level and origi-nal performance of the machine unchanged intime.
Wear strong working gloves during any cleaning,maintenance or adjustment operation on themachine.
Should it be necessary to access the lower part,only tilt the machine from the side shown in theengine handbook; following the relative instruc-tions.
CLEANING
Carefully clean the machines with water after eachcut; remove the grass debris and mud accumulat-ed inside the chassis to avoid their drying and thusmaking the next start-up difficult.
The paintwork on the inside of the chassis maypeel off in time due to the abrasive action of the cutgrass; in this case, intervene promptly by touchingup the paintwork using a rustproof paint to preventthe formation of rust that would lead to corrosion ofthe metal.
Remove the transmission casing by removing thescrews S(fig. 12) and clean around the transmis-sion (*) and drive belts (*) with a brush or com-pressed air once or twice a year.
Once every season, the drive wheels (*) should becleaned internally. Remove both wheels. Clean thegear wheel and the wheel gear rim of grass and dirtusing a brush or compressed air (fig. 13). 
LUBRICATING DRIVE SHAFT (*)
Once per season, the wedge on the drive shaftshould be greased. Remove the wheel (wheel cap,screw and washer). Then remove the circlip andwasher so that the gear wheel can be removedfrom the shaft. Lubricate the wedge with universalgrease.
Reinstall the wedge (the wedge is installed differ-ently on the right and left side, fig. 14-15). Installthe gear wheel so that the «L» faces out on the leftside and the «R» faces out on the right side(machine viewed from the rear).
BATTERY (*)
In normal use during the season, the battery ischarged by the engine. If the engine cannot bestarted with the ignition key, it may be because thebattery is dead.
Dismantle the battery by opening the battery cover,disconnecting the terminal on the engine andremoving the battery (fig. 16). Connect the batterycharger (provided) to the battery, then connect thecharger to a wall socket and charge for 24 hours(fig. 17).

After charging, the battery may be reinstalled andthe terminal on the battery connected to the termi-nal on the motor (fig. 18).
The battery charger may not be connected directlyto the engine terminal. It is not possible to start theengine with the charger as the power source andthe charger could be damaged.
WINTER STORAGE
Remove the battery and store it fully charged (seeabove) in a dry, cool place (between 0°C and+15°C). At least once during the winter storageperiod, the battery should be maintenance-charged.
Before the start of the season, the battery shouldbe charged once again for 24 hours.
ADJUSTING CLUTCH CABLE (*)
If the drive does not engage when the clutch loopis pressed against the handle, or if the lawnmowerfeels cumbersome or slow, this may be becausethe clutch in the transmission is slipping. To rectifythis situation, adjust the clutch cable as follows(with the engine off):
1. When the clutch loop is released, it should bepossible to push the mower backwards withoutany resistance. If this is not the case, screw inthe nipple Tuntil the mower can be pushed (fig.19).
2. When the clutch loop is pressed in approx. 2 cm(position 1), there should be some resistancewhen pushing the lawnmower. With the clutchloop fully pressed in (position 2) it should not bepossible to push the mower. Unscrew the nippleT until this position is achieved.
ADJUSTING VARIATOR CABLE (*)
If the speed difference between the settings in thevariator control giving the fastest speed (position 3and   ) appears insignificant or nothing at all, thevariator cable might need tightening (fig. 10).
1. Run the mower for a few minutes in position  
2. If the variator cable shows some play in nippleYit needs tightening. Undo the locking nut Xand tighten the cable by unscrewing the nippleYuntil the cable ceases to show any play.
3. Tighten the locking nut X. 
NOTE! Do not stretch the cable beyond the pointwhere there is no play in the nipple Y. If the cableis over-tightened, the drive belt could break and/orother parts of the transmission be damaged. Whensetting after e.g. belt change, always start with thenipple Ycompletely screwed in.

CHANGING BLADES
To replace the blade, undo the screw (fig. 21, 22).Fit the new blade so that the stamped logo isturned up facing the blade holder (not facing thegrass).Reinstall as illustrated. Tighten the screw properly.Tightening torque 40 Nm.When replacing the blade, the blade screw shouldalso be replaced.
SHARPENING THE BLADES
Sharpening of the blades must be done by wetmethod grinding, using a whetstone or a grind-stone.For safety reasons, the blades should not besharpened on an emery wheel. A very high temper-ature could cause the blades to become brittle.
STORAGE
The same petrol must not remain in the tank formore than one month.
Thoroughly clean the mower and store it indoors ina dry place.
SERVICING
Genuine spare parts are supplied by service work-shops and by many dealers.
We recommend that you take the machine to anauthorised service station for annual servicing,maintenance and inspection of safety equipment.
For service and spare parts, please contact thedealer where the machine was purchased.

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ 
1) Lire attentivement les instructions du présent
manuel. Se familiariser avec l’utilisation correcte et les
commandes avant d’utiliser la tondeuse. Savoir arrêter le
moteur rapidement.
2) Utiliser la tondeuse pour l’usage auquel elle est
destinée, à savoir la tonte et le ramassage du gazon.
Toute autre utilisation peut s’avérer dangereuse ou
entraîner une détérioration de la machine.
3) Ne jamais permettre d’utiliser la tondeuse à des
enfants ou des personnes non familières avec les
instructions. La réglementation locale peut fixer un âge
limite pour l’utilisateur.
4) Ne pas utiliser la tondeuse lorsque:
– des personnes, particulièrement des enfants, ou des
animaux se trouvent à proximité;
– l’utilisateur a absorbé des médicaments ou substan-
ces, réputés comme pouvant nuire à sa capacité de
réflexe et de vigilance. 
5) Garder à l’esprit que l’opérateur ou l’utilisateur est
responsable des accidents ou des risques encourus par
les tierces personnes ou par leurs biens.
1) Toujours porter des chaussures résistantes et des
pantalons longs pendant la tonte. Ne pas utiliser le
matériel lorsque l’on est pieds nus ou en sandales.
2) Inspecter minutieusement toute la zone à tondre et éli-
miner tout objet étranger qui pourrait être projeté par la
machine ou endommager lensemble de coupe et le
moteur (pierres, morceaux de bois, fils de fer, os, etc..).
3) ATTENTION: DANGER! L’essence est hautement
inflammable:
– conserver le carburant dans des récipients spéciale-
ment prévus à cet effet;
– faire le plein à l’aide d’un entonnoir, à l’extérieur
uniquement et ne pas fumer pendant cette opération
ou pendant toute manipulation de carburant;
– ajouter de l’essence avant de démarrer le moteur et ne
jamais enlever le bouchon du réservoir de carburant ou
faire le plein lorsque le moteur est en fonctionnement ou
tant qu’il est encore chaud;
– ne pas démarrer le moteur si de l’essence a été répan-
due. Éloigner la tondeuse de la zone où le carburant a
été renversé et ne provoquer aucune inflammation tant
que le carburant ne s’est pas évaporé et que les vapeurs
ne se sont pas dissipées;
– remettre et serrer correctement les bouchons du réser-
voir et du récipient.
4) Remplacer les silencieux d’échappement défectueux.
5) Avant l’utilisation, toujours procéder à une vérifi-
cation générale et en particulier de l’aspect des
lames, des vis de fixation et de l’ensemble de coupe
pour s’assurer qu’ils ne sont ni usés ni endommagés.
Remplacer les lames et les vis endommagées ou usées
par lots complets pour préserver le bon équilibrage.
B) PREPARATION
A) FORMATION
6) Avant de commencer le travail, monter les protections
(sac et déflecteur).
1) Ne pas faire fonctionner le moteur dans un endroit
confiné où les gaz nocifs contenant du monoxyde de
carbone peuvent s’accumuler.
2) Tondre uniquement à la lumière du jour ou dans une
lumière artificielle de bonne qualité.
3) Dans la mesure du possible, éviter de tondre de l’her-
be mouillée.
4) Assurer ses pas dans les pentes.
5) Marcher, ne jamais courir. Ne pas se faire tirer par la
tondeuse.
6) Tondre les pentes dans le sens transversal, jamais en
montant ou en descendant.
7) Être particulièrement prudent lors des changements
de direction sur les terrains en pente.
8) Ne pas tondre sur des pentes supérieures à 20°.
9) Faire particulièrement attention lorsque la machine
doit être tirée vers soi.
10) Arrêter la lame si la tondeuse doit être inclinée pour
le transport, lorsque on traverse des zones sans herbe et
lors des déplacements entre les surfaces à tondre. 
11) Ne jamais utiliser la tondeuse si ses protecteurs sont
endommagés, ou en l’absence de dispositifs de sécurité
comme le déflecteur ou le bac de ramassage.
12) Ne jamais modifier le réglage du régulateur du
moteur, ni mettre le moteur en surrégime.
13) Pour les modèles autopropulsés, désengager l’em-
brayage d’avancement avant de démarrer le moteur.
14) Démarrer le moteur avec précautions, en respectant
les consignes d’utilisation et en tenant les pieds éloignés
de la lame.
15) Ne pas incliner la tondeuse pour le démarrage.
Effectuer la mise en marche sur une surface plane,
exempte de tout obstacle et d’herbe haute.
16) Tenir les mains et les pieds éloignés des pièces
tournantes. Toujours se tenir à l’écart de la goulotte d’é-
jection.
17) Ne jamais soulever ou transporter une tondeuse dont
le moteur est en fonctionnement.
18) Arrêter le moteur et débrancher le fil de bougie
dans les cas suivants:
– avant toute intervention sous le carter de coupe ou
dans le tunnel d’éjection;
– avant toute opération de nettoyage, de vérification ou
de réparation de la tondeuse;
– après avoir heurté un objet étranger. Inspecter la ton-
deuse pour vérifier si elle est endommagée. Effectuer les
réparations nécessaires avant toute nouvelle utilisation
de la machine;
– si la tondeuse commence à vibrer de manière anor-
male, (rechercher immédiatement la cause des vibrations
et y remédier).
19) Arrêter le moteur dans les cas suivants:
– toutes les fois où la tondeuse doit être laissée sans
surveillance. Pour les modèles équipés d’un démarrage
électrique, retirer la clé de contact;
– avant de faire le plein de carburant;
– lors de la pose et la dépose du sac de ramassage;
– avant de régler la hauteur de coupe.

20) Réduire les gaz avant d’arrêter le moteur. Fermer le
robinet d’arrivée d’essence après chaque utilisation, sui-
vant les indications du livret pour le moteur.
21) Pendant le travail, conserver la distance de sécurité
par rapport à la lame, donnée par la longueur du guidon.
1) Maintenir tous les écrous et vis serrés afin d’assurer
des conditions d’utilisation sûres. Un entretien régulier
est essentiel pour la sécurité et le maintien du niveau de
performances. 
2) Ne jamais entreposer la tondeuse avec du carburant
dans le réservoir dans un local où les vapeurs d’essence
pourraient atteindre une flamme, une étincelle ou une
forte source de chaleur.
3) Laisser le moteur refroidir avant de ranger la machine
dans un local quelconque.
4) Pour réduire les risques d’incendie, débarrasser la
tondeuse, en particulier le moteur, le pot d’échappe-
ment, et le compartiment de batterie, ainsi que la
zone de stockage de carburant, des feuilles, brins
d’herbe et des excès de graisse.Ne pas laisser de
conteneurs de débris végétaux dans un local.
5) Vérifier fréquemment que le déflecteur et le sac de
ramassage ne présentent aucune trace d’usure ou de
détérioration.
6) Si le réservoir de carburant doit être vidangé, effectuer
cette opération à l’extérieur et lorsque le moteur est
froid.
7) Porter des gants épais pour le démontage et le remon-
tage de la lame de coupe.
8) Veiller au maintien de l’équilibrage de la lame lors
de son affûtage. Toutes les opérations concernant la
lame (démontage, aiguisage, équilibrage, remontage
et⁄ou remplacement) sont des travaux compliqués qui
requièrent une compétence spécifique ainsi que l’utlisa-
tion d’outillages spéciaux ; pour des raisons de sécurité,
ils doivent donc toujours être exécutés dans un centre
spécialisé.
9) Ne pas utiliser la machine avec des pièces endom-
magées ou usées pour des raisons de sécurité. Les
pièces doivent être remplacées et non pas réparées.
Utiliser des pièces d’origine. (Les lames doivent tou-
jours porter la marque ). Des pièces de qualité non
équivalente peuvent endommager la machine et
nuire à votre sécurité.
1) Chaque fois qu’il est nécessaire de déplacer la machi-
ne, de la soulever, de la transporter ou de l’incliner il faut:
– porter des gants de travail résistants;
– prendre la machine en plusieurs points offrant une
prise sûre, tout en tenant compte de son poids et de la
répartition du poids.
– employer un nombre de personnes adapté au poids de
la machine et aux caractéristiques du moyen de
transport ou de l’endroit où la machine doit être placée
ou prélevée.
E) TRANSPORT ET DÉPLACEMENT
D) MAINTENANCE ET STOCKAGE
ENVIRONNEMENT
Pour protéger l’environnement, nous vous conseillons de
suivre les recommandations suivantes:
• Utilisez toujours de l’essence acrylique (aussi  appe-
lée essence écologique). 
• Utilisez toujours un entonnoir et/ou un bidon d’es-
sence avec protection de remplissage pour éviter de
répandre de l’essence lors du remplissage. 
• Ne remplissez pas le réservoir jusqu’au bord. 
• N’utilisez pas trop d’huile moteur et/ou d’huile de
transmission.
• Recueillez l’huile usagée lors du changement de
l’huile. Evitez de répandre l’huile. Apportez l’huile
usagée à un centre de recyclage. 
• Ne jetez pas un filtre à huile usagé dans la poubelle.
Apportez le filtre usagé à un centre de recyclage. 
• Ne jetez pas les batteries au plomb dans la poubelle.
Apportez les batteries usagées à un centre de recy-
clage pour batteries (concerne les machines alimen-
tées par betterie et les machines avec démarrage par
batterie).
• Changez le silencieux s’il est abîmé. Utilisez toujours
des pièces d’origine lors des réparations. 
• Si le pot catalytique des machines équipées d’origi-
ne de ce système est abîmé, il devra être remplacé
par un nouveau pot catalyque. 
• Confiez toujours le réglage du carburateur à un pro-
fessionnel. 
• Nettoyez le filtre à air comme indiqué dans les
instructions. 
• Si votre machine, après de nombreuses années d’u-
tilisation, doit être remplacée ou si elle n’est plus
nécessaire, nous vous recommandons de l’apporter
à votre revendeur pour qu’elle soit recyclée. 
IDENTIFICATION DU PRODUIT 
Lidentification du produit est déterminée par les numé-
ros darticle et de série de la machine.
Ils sont situés sur la plaquette collée sur le châssis  de la
machine:
Utilisez ces facteurs didentification lors des contacts
avec les ateliers dentretien et lors des achats  de pièces
de rechange.
Aussitôt après lachat de la machine, reportez ces numé-
ros à la dernière page de cette brochure.
