    Engine Coolant TemperatureGauge
    Displays the temperature of the enginecoolant. At normal operating temperaturethe indicator will remain in the centersection.
    Fuel Gauge
    Switch the ignition on. The fuel gauge willindicate approximately how much fuel isleft in the fuel tank. The fuel gauge mayvary slightly when your vehicle is movingor on a gradient. The arrow adjacent to thefuel pump symbol indicates on which sideof your vehicle the fuel filler door is located.

    							WARNING LAMPS AND
    INDICATORS
    The following warning lamps andindicators will alert you to a vehiclecondition that may become serious. Somelamps will illuminate when you start yourvehicle to make sure they work. If anylamps remain on after starting your vehicle,refer to the respective system warninglamp for further information.
    Note:Some warning indicators appear inthe information display and function thesame as a warning lamp but do not displaywhen you start your vehicle.
    Anti-lock Braking System WarningLamp
    If it illuminates when you aredriving, this indicates amalfunction. You will continueto have the normal braking system(without anti-lock braking system) unlessthe brake system warning lamp is alsoilluminated. Have your vehicle checked byan authorized dealer.
    Brake System Warning Lamp
    It will illuminate when youengage the parking brake withthe ignition on.
    If it illuminates when you are driving, checkthat the parking brake is not engaged. Ifthe parking brake is not engaged, thisindicates low brake fluid level or a brakesystem malfunction. Have your vehiclechecked by an authorized dealerimmediately.
    WARNING
    Driving your vehicle with the warninglamp on is dangerous. A significantdecrease in braking performancemay occur. It will take you longer to stopyour vehicle. Have your vehicle checked byan authorized dealer immediately. Drivingextended distances with the parking brakeengaged can cause brake failure and therisk of personal injury.
    Cruise Control Indicator
    It will illuminate when you switchthis feature on. See UsingCruise Control (page 126).
    Direction Indicator
    Illuminates when the left or rightdirection indicator or the hazardwarning flasher is turned on. Ifthe indicators stay on or flash faster, checkfor a burnt out bulb. See Changing a Bulb(page 170).
    Door Ajar Warning Lamp
    Illuminates when you switch theignition on and remains on if anydoor, the hood or the liftgate isnot closed properly.
    Engine Coolant TemperatureWarning Lamp
    WARNING
    Do not resume your journey if itilluminates despite the level beingcorrect. Have your vehicle checkedby an authorized dealer immediately.

    							If it stays on after starting orilluminates when driving, thisindicates a malfunction. Stopyour vehicle as soon as it is safe to do soand switch the engine off. Check thecoolant level. See Engine Coolant Check(page 161).
    Engine Oil Warning Lamp
    WARNING
    Do not resume your journey if itilluminates despite the level beingcorrect. Have your vehicle checkedby an authorized dealer immediately.
    If it illuminates with the enginerunning or when you are driving,this indicates a malfunction.Stop your vehicle as soon as it is safe todo so and switch the engine off. Check theengine oil level. See Engine Oil Check(page 160).

    Malfunction Indicator Lamp
    Powertrain Warning Lamp
    All Vehicles
    If either lamp illuminates when the engineis running, this indicates a malfunction. Theengine will continue to run but it may havelimited power. If it flashes when you aredriving, reduce the speed of your vehicleimmediately. If it continues to flash, avoidheavy acceleration or deceleration. Haveyour vehicle checked by an authorizeddealer immediately.
    WARNING
    Have this checked immediately.
    If both lamps illuminate together, stop yourvehicle as soon as it is safe to do so(continued use may cause reduced powerand cause the engine to stop). Switch theignition off and attempt to restart theengine. If the engine restarts have yourvehicle checked by an authorized dealerimmediately. When the engine does notrestart have your vehicle checked beforecontinuing your journey.
    Front Airbag Warning Lamp
    If it fails to illuminate when youstart your vehicle, continues toflash or remains on, it indicatesa malfunction. Have your vehicle checkedby an authorized dealer.
    Front Fog Lamps Indicator
    It will illuminate when you switchthe front fog lamps on.
    Frost Warning Lamp
    WARNING
    Even if the temperature rises toabove 39°F (4°C) there is noguarantee that the road is free ofhazards caused by inclement weather.
    It will illuminate when theoutside air temperature is 39°F(4°C) or below.
    Glow Plug Indicator
    If it illuminates, wait until itextinguishes before starting.

    							Headlamp Indicator
    It will illuminate when you switchthe headlamp dipped beam orthe side and tail lamps on.
    High Beam Indicator
    It will illuminate when you switchthe high beam headlamps on. Itwill flash when you use theheadlamp flasher.
    Ignition Warning Lamp
    If it illuminates when driving, thisindicates a malfunction. Switchoff all unnecessary electricalequipment. Have your vehicle checked byan authorized dealer immediately.
    Information Indicator
    It will illuminate when a newmessage is stored in theinformation display. SeeInformation Messages (page 71).
    Low Fuel Level Warning Lamp
    If it illuminates, refuel as soon aspossible.
    Rear Fog Lamps Indicator
    It will illuminate when you switchthe rear fog lamps on.
    Safety Belt Minder Warning Lamp
    It will illuminate and a chime willsound to remind you to fastenyour safety belt. See SafetyBelt Minder (page 24).
    Shift Indicator
    It will illuminate to inform youthat shifting to a higher gear maygive better fuel economy andlower CO2 emissions. It will not illuminateduring periods of high acceleration, brakingor when the clutch pedal is pressed.
    Stability Control Indicator
    While driving, it flashes when thesystem is operating. After youswitch the ignition on, if it doesnot illuminate or illuminates continuouslywhile driving, this indicates a malfunction.During a malfunction, the system switchesoff. Have your vehicle checked by anauthorized dealer as soon as possible.
    It will illuminate when you switch thesystem off. It will go out when you switchthe system back on or when you switch theignition off.
    Start-Stop Indicator
    It will illuminate when the enginehas automatically stopped. It willflash to inform you when theengine needs to restart. SeeAuto-Start-Stop (page 103). SeeInformation Messages (page 71).

    AUDIBLE WARNINGS AND
    INDICATORS
    Automatic Transmission
    Sounds when you open the driver's doorand do not move the transmission selectorlever to position P.
    Key Outside Car
    Vehicles With Keyless System
    Sounds when you close the door, theengine is running and the system does notdetect a passive key inside your vehicle.
    Headlamps On
    Sounds when you remove the key from theignition and open the driver's door and youhave left the headlamps or parking lampson.
    Low Fuel
    A warning chime will sound when theremaining fuel is less than approximately1.3 gallons (6 liters). The distance to emptydisplayed may vary depending on drivingstyle and road conditions.
    Safety Belt Minder
    WARNINGS
    The safety belt minder remains instand-by mode when the front safetybelts have been fastened. It willsound if either safety belt is unfastened.
    Do not sit on top of a fastened safetybelt to prevent the safety belt minderfrom coming on. The occupantprotection system will only provideoptimum protection when you use thesafety belt properly.
    Sounds when your vehicle speed exceedsthe pre-determined limit and the frontsafety belts are unfastened. The chime willstop after a period of time.

    							GENERAL INFORMATION
    WARNING
    Driving while distracted can result inloss of vehicle control, accident andinjury. We strongly recommend thatyou use extreme caution when using anydevice or feature that may take your focusoff the road. Your primary responsibility isthe safe operation of your vehicle. Werecommend against the use of anyhandheld device while driving and that youcomply with all applicable laws.
    Note:The information display will remainon for several minutes after you switch theignition off.

    Information Display Controls
    Various systems on your vehicle can becontrolled using the information displaycontrols on your audio unit. Correspondinginformation is displayed in the informationdisplay.
    To use the controls:
    •Press the up or down arrow button toscroll through and highlight the optionswithin a menu.
    •Press the right arrow button to enter asubmenu.
    •Press the left arrow button to exit asubmenu.
    •Press and hold the left arrow button atany time to return to the main menudisplay.
    •Press the OK button to choose andconfirm settings or messages.
