Ensembles Ensembles contain a group of radiostations. Each ensemble can consist ofseveral different radio stations. The radio station name displays below theensemble name. Note:When you tune from one ensembleto another, it can take a while until thesystem synchronizes to the next ensemble.The system mutes during synchronization. Selecting Radio Band DAB1 and DAB2 operate in the same way.You can store up to 10 different presets oneach band. 1.Press the RADIO button. 2.Press the left arrow button to displaythe available wavebands. 3.Select DAB1 or DAB2. Radio Station Tuning Control Press the RADIO button and select DAB1or DAB2. Both preset banks operate in thesame way and can store up to 10 differentpreset radio stations. Note:When you reach the first or last radiostation within an ensemble, further tuningwill skip to the next ensemble. There maybe a delay during this change and the audiowill briefly mute. Seek Tuning 1.Press a seek button. The system willstop at the first radio station it finds inthe direction chosen. Radio Station List This feature displays all the available radiostations in a list. 1.Press function button 1. 2.Press the left or right arrow buttons tochange ensembles. Press the up ordown arrow button to navigate to yourrequired radio station. 3.Press OK to confirm your selection. Note:The display will only show radiostations in the current ensemble. Manual Tuning 1.Press function button 2. 2.Press the left or right arrow button totune up or down the waveband in smallincrements. Press and hold to movethrough the waveband quickly. 3.Press OK to confirm your selection. Note:Seek tuning is also possible withinthis screen. Radio Station Preset Buttons This feature allows you to store up to 10favorite radio stations from any ensemblein each preset bank. 1.Select a radio station. 2.Press and hold one of the presetbuttons. A progress bar and messagewill appear. When the progress barcompletes the radio station has beenstored. The system will mutemomentarily as confirmation. Once stored press a preset button at anytime to select a favourite radio station. Note:Radio stations stored on the presetbuttons may not always be available if youhave left the coverage area. The system willmute when this happens. Radio Text You can display extra information. Forexample; artist name. To switch this optionon, select a radio station and pressfunction button 3. Service Linking If you leave the coverage area of a DABradio station the system will automaticallyswitch to the corresponding FM radiostation. You can switch this feature on and offusing the information display. See GeneralInformation (page 66). Note:If a DAB radio station has nocorresponding FM radio station, the audiowill mute when attempting to switch. Note:The system will display the FMsymbol when DAB and FM radio stationslink. AUXILIARY INPUT JACK WARNINGS Driving while distracted can result inloss of vehicle control, accident andinjury. We strongly recommend thatyou use extreme caution when using anydevice or feature that may take your focusoff the road. Your primary responsibility isthe safe operation of your vehicle. Werecommend against the use of anyhandheld device while driving andencourage the use of voice-operatedsystems when possible. Make sure you areaware of all applicable local laws that mayaffect the use of electronic devices whiledriving. For safety reasons, do not connector adjust the settings on yourportable music player while yourvehicle is moving. WARNINGS Store the portable music player in asecure location, such as the centerconsole or the glove box, when yourvehicle is in moving. Hard objects maybecome projectiles in a collision or suddenstop, which may increase the risk of seriousinjury. The audio extension cable must belong enough to allow the portable musicplayer to be safely stored while yourvehicle is moving. The auxiliary input jack allows you toconnect and play music from your portablemusic player through your vehicle speakers.You can use any portable music playerdesigned for use with headphones. Youraudio extension cable must have maleone-eighth inch (three and one-halfmillimeter) connectors at each end. 1.Make sure your vehicle is stationarywith the radio and portable musicplayers turned off. 2.Plug the extension cable from theportable music player into the auxiliaryinput jack. 3.Switch the radio on. Select either atuned FM station or a CD. 4.Adjust the volume as desired. 5.Switch the portable music player onand adjust its volume to half itsmaximum level. 6.Press AUX until LINE or LINE INappears in the display. You should hearmusic from your device even if it is low. 7.Adjust the volume on your portablemusic player until it reaches the volumelevel of the FM station or CD. Press the relevant button on the unit bezelto access the system functions. This willtake you into the selected mode. For instructions on how to operate theaudio unit and the available navigationfeatures, see the relevant audio unitprocedure. See Audio System (page 199). Loading Map Data WARNINGS The indicated maximum speed maynot be applicable to your vehicle. Itis always your responsibility tocontrol your vehicle, supervise any systemand obey the correct speed limit. Failureto do so could result in loss of vehiclecontrol. The front glass on the liquid crystaldisplay may break if hit with a hardobject. If the glass breaks, do nottouch the liquid crystalline material. In caseof contact with the skin, wash immediatelywith soap and water. Note:Do not switch the ignition on orattempt to start the engine while thesoftware is updating. Note:Do not clean the unit with solventsor aerosol cleaning agents. Use only a dampcloth. Note:The navigation SD card must be inthe SD card slot to operate the navigationsystem. If you need a replacement SD card,see an authorized dealer. Note:The SD card slot is spring-loaded. Toremove the SD card, push the card in andrelease it. Do not attempt to remove thecard without first pushing it in. This couldcause damage. 1.Load the navigation SD card into theslot. 2.Press the NAV button. The road safetywarning confirms the map data importwas successful. 3.The system is now ready to use. For map updates and system upgrades,see an authorized dealer. Driving decisionsbased on observations of local conditionsand existing traffic regulations must beobserved. Do not follow route suggestionsif they would result in an unsafe or illegalmaneuver, an unsafe situation, or if youwould be directed into an area that youconsider unsafe. Maps used by this systemmay be inaccurate due to errors, changes inroads, traffic or driving conditions. Safety Information If detailed viewing of route instructions isnecessary, pull off the road when it is safeto do so and park your vehicle. Setting a Route 1.Press the NAV button. 2.Select Destination input. 3.Starting at the top, select the countryfollowed by either the postcode or cityand street name, together with thehouse number or intersection. 4.Use the arrow buttons to enter youraddress details. 5.After entering sufficient information,select Start guidance or pressfunction key one to begin routecalculation. Note:After first entry, the country selectedwill remain the default option until youmanually change it. Note:If required you can select differentcharacter screens by using the up and downarrow buttons. Note:If you only need to navigate to a citycenter, just enter the city name and startguidance. Note:If you only need to navigate to adistrict, within a city for example, just enterthe district name and start guidance. The route is calculated and the screenreturns to the main navigation screen. Ifprompted, select the type of route yourequire first. Follow the screen and voiceprompts to reach your destination. Menu Structure You can access the menu using theinformation and entertainment displaycontrol. See Information Displays (page66). Note:Some options may appear slightlydifferent or not at all if the items areoptional. Route Options Press the NAV button and scroll to Routeoptions. You can then set your routeoptions for any of the following. Route You can select Always ask to make surethat you are always given the choice ofroute option for your journey. Eco Uses the most fuel efficient route. Note:Your driving style will influence this. Fast Uses the fastest route possible. Short Uses the shortest distance possible. Driver Leisurely This option will calculate your time ofarrival based on a leisurely drive to thedestination. Fast This option will calculate your time ofarrival based on a fast drive to thedestination. Eco Settings Trailer Use this feature to change the economysettings of your journey relating to whetheror not you are towing a trailer and if so thesize of trailer being towed. Roof Box Use this feature to change the economysettings of your journey relating to the useof a roof box. Dynamic When switched on, and if the unit isreceiving a valid traffic message channelsignal, the route will be automaticallyupdated to take into account real timetraffic incidents or congestion. Note:This feature can be useful in avoidingdelays or hold ups on journeys. Freeway When switched off the system will avoidfreeways on your route and automaticallyupdate your route distance and timings. Tunnel When switched off the system will avoidtunnels on your route and automaticallyupdate your route distance and timings. Ferries and Car Trains When switched off the system will avoidferry crossings and car train facilities onyour route and automatically update yourroute distance and timings. Toll When switched off the system will avoidtoll roads on your route and automaticallyupdate your route distance and timings. Seasonal Roads When switched off the system will avoidseasonal roads (for example, mountainpasses) on your route and automaticallyupdate your route distance and timings. Toll Sticker When switched off the system will avoidtoll routes and automatically update yourroute distance and timings. Information Press the information button to viewdetails of your current location or journey.During active route guidance pressing thisbutton will repeat the last navigationinstruction. Setting Your NavigationPreferences Select settings for the system to take intoaccount when planning your route. 236Fiesta (CCN)Navigation

Press the NAV button and choose any of the following options. You CanWhen You Select Enter your destination details (for example enter citynames, enter street names or pick a place from a map).Destination input Choose how you want the system to handle traffic prob-lems along your route (for example, block sections onroute). Traffic See the location on the map currently stored as the homeposition. Only one entry can be saved as the home address.Home address Access a history of previous destinations entered in thesystem. Select the required repeat destination from thelist. Last destinations See a list of your saved favorites.Favorites Search for and select points of interest nearby, on yourroute or at your destination. You can search by name orby category. Points of interest Set up and store a new tour by entering a number ofdifferent destinations and select the order in which youwish to visit them. You can also modify an existing tour orrecall a previous tour. The system will automaticallycalculate and display your chosen journey. Tour planning Store and name your current position. This will automatic-ally save in your favorites.Store position Set your route options from the available list.Route options Select GPS and system information or a demonstrationof the system functionality.Special functions Select a demonstration mode where the system willsimulate a journey whilst the vehicle is stationary. Press the MENU button, select the navigation option and choose any of thefollowing options. You CanWhen You Select Set your route options.Route options Customize the map display for your journey (for examplearrows on map, arrival times and map content).Map display Customize display information for your journey (forexample signs, lanes and speed limits).Assistance options Turn the hazard warning feature on or off. Delete personal data (for example your home address).Personal data Reset the navigation settings.Reset all settings Storing Your Home Address 1.Press the NAV button. 2.Select the home address option. 3.Enter the required details using thearrow buttons. 4.Press the confirm function button. Note:Your last destination willautomatically display if you go to changeyour home address. Adding a Favorite 1.Press the NAV button. 2.Scroll to the destination input option. 3.Enter the required details using thearrow buttons. 4.Press the store function button. Note:If you select store position, this willalso save the destination in your favorites. Selecting a Favorite 1.Press the NAV button. 2.Select the favorites option. 3.Scroll to the required destination usingthe arrow buttons. 4.Press the OK button to startnavigation. Adjusting the Navigation Voice Level You can adjust the voice prompt levelduring an active voice prompt by using thevolume control. Note:During active route guidance pressingthe information button will repeat the lastnavigation instruction. Nav Audio Mixing This feature allows you to adjust thevolume mix between the audio unit andnavigation voice level. See GeneralInformation (page 66). Tolerant Destination Input This function will search a number ofdestinations with a similar spelling to whatyou have entered. This is helpful if you areunsure on how to spell a destination. 1.Press the NAV button. 2.Scroll to the destination input option. 3.Before entering your destination detailsselect Tolerant and then begin toinput your destination. 238Fiesta (CCN)Navigation
