5. Release the tension lever on both adapters.
6. Push the adapters into the paper core at both ends of the roll. Then press 
down on the tension levers to secure the adapters on the roll.

7. Move the roll paper to the right side until it touches the roll paper guide.
8. Slide the roll paper holder to align the uarrow with the roll paper 
adapter.

9. Roll the paper slowly into position.
10. Grasp the handle on the left roll paper holder and slide it to the right as 
far as it will go. Make sure the roll paper is pushed all the way to the 
right, as shown.

11. Pull up the lock lever to lock the paper in place.
Loading the Film for Printing
1. Press the lPaper Source button until the  or  roll icon appears 
on the LCD display.
Choose  if you want the paper to be cut automatically after each 
page is printed.
Choose   if you want to decide for yourself when to cut the paper 
(see page 56 for instructions).
2. If the   light is not on, press the   button to release the platen.

3. Insert the paper into the slot.
If the paper doesn’t come out, you may need to lower the suction by 
pressing the d button. Make sure you return the suction to normal after 
the paper is loaded.
4. Close the roll paper cover.
5. Press the   button to hold the paper against the platen.
Caution: Don’t pull the 
paper down further than 
shown, or it may get 
wrinkled when it moves 
into position.

Wait for the paper to move into position automatically, or press the 
 button to move the paper into position right away.
6. If you see a question on the display about paper settings, select 
Yes if the 
settings are correct, or select 
No and then change the settings. Press OK 
to save your settings.
7. If the edge of the paper is uneven or wrinkled, press the   button to 
cut the edge.

Removing the Roll from the Printer
1. Open the roll paper cover.
2. Press the   button to release the paper. It is rewound automatically. If 
automatic media tracking is on, the barcode and paper information is 
printed.
3. If you don’t plan to reload paper immediately, press the   button 
again to exit paper loading mode.

4. Push down the lock lever firmly to release it. Then grasp the handle on 
the roll paper holder and slide it all the way to the left to release the roll.
5. Roll the paper forward so that it rests on top of the printer.

6. Pull up the tension levers, then remove the adapters from the paper roll. 
7. Rewind the roll carefully and place it in its original package.
Using the Film Basket
Use the film basket whenever you print on Epson film. The film basket 
protects your prints from smearing or other damage, and can hold prints up 
to 36 inches (914 mm) long. Remove each printout as it is dropped into the 
basket. If you allow printouts to stack, they may get scratched. Note: Do not place...

Attaching the Film Basket
Before attaching the film basket, you need to move the paper basket to the 
fully upright position. Follow the instructions below.
1. Lower the paper guides as shown. Compress the side tabs on the guides 
to release them.Note: If you’re using the 
optional SpectroProofer, 
you don’t have to remove 
it in order to attach the 
film basket.
