3. Raise the front of the basket so that the surface is taut. Then lower the 
paper guides so that your prints slide smoothly onto the cloth.
Catching Printouts Under the Printer
Follow these steps to catch printouts under the printer:
1. Raise the paper guides and tilt the front of the basket down.
Note: To avoid paper 
feed errors, do not allow 
prints to stack up in the 
paper basket.

2. Lower the paper guides, then raise the front of the basket all the way up. 
Fasten the front of the basket with the straps.
Storing the Paper Basket
If you are not using the paper basket, you can fold it out of the way.
1. Raise the paper guides, then adjust the straps as needed and raise the 
front of the basket. Lower the paper guides.

Customizing the Settings for Your Paper
When you choose a media type in your Epson printer software, the driver 
automatically determines the best settings for your paper. However, you may 
want to fine-tune how the printer handles various media—especially if you 
use non-Epson paper or a paper not supported by the driver. Use the paper 
configuration settings described below.

8. Examine the printed pattern for the most evenly overlapping lines. 
Choose the number with the most even lines. In the example shown 
above, the lines under number 4 are the most even. 
After printing the pattern, 
THICKNESS NUMBER is highlighted. 
9. Press u or d to select the number that you noted in step 8, then press 
OK.
10. Press l, then d to select any of the menu options shown below. Make 
adjustments as needed, and press

Maintaining White Ink Cartridges
Due to the special properties of Epson white ink, some settling of the ink 
components can occur over time. This may cause uneven printing. To 
maintain optimal print quality, the white ink cartridges must be shaken on a 
regular basis.
To shake a white ink cartridge, hold it horizontally as shown. Shake it back 
and forth about an inch or two (5 cm) in each direction.

Shaking the Installed White Ink Cartridge
Once you’ve installed a white ink cartridge in the printer, it needs to be 
shaken weekly to maintain image quality. The printer will alert you at the 
end of each week when shaking is required:
You can check the number of days remaining until the next time you need to 
shake the ink cartridge. This is shown at the bottom of the LCD display:

3. Open the cover all the way.
4. Press in the white ink cartridge and release it. The cartridge pops out.
