31 Setting Up the Printer|31 3. Insert the pins through the guides, pressing them into place. 4. Open one of the scissor arms as shown. Insert two long rods (A) and one short rod (B) into the plastic connectors.Note: Once inserted, the pins cannot be removed.

33 Setting Up the Printer|33 7. Insert six pins into the plastic connectors to secure the rods. 8. Set the basket upright, then press the straps onto the film basket in the indicated positions. Now go to “Completing Setup and Connecting the Power Cord” on page 34.Note: Once inserted, the pins cannot be removed. Note: Do not place heavy objects such as paper rolls in this basket, or it may get damaged. The basket can support up to 6.6 lbs (3 kg).

34 34|Setting Up the Printer Completing Setup and Connecting the Power Cord 1. Attach the manual holder to the left or right side of the stand. Store the printer manuals in the holder. 2. Unlock the casters. Then move the printer to the place of use. (The casters are meant for moving the printer for only a short distance.) Lock the casters after moving.

35 Setting Up the Printer|35 3. Remove any packing tape and plastic film. Check these areas: the front cover the ink compartment covers the maintenance tank(s) 4. Open the roll paper cover and remove the tape and packing material. Ti p : After removing protective materials, touch a metal part of the printer to discharge static electricity.

36 36|Setting Up the Printer 5. Open the front cover and remove the tape and packing material. Save the packing material in case you need to ship the printer. 6. Close the front cover. 7. Connect the power cord to the AC inlet on the back of the printer.

Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet. Installing Ink Use the ink cartridges that came with your printer for initial ink charging. Gently shake each cartridge as shown below for the following durations: White ink cartridge: 30 seconds (about 100 times) Other ink cartridges: 5 seconds Caution: Do not touch the green chip on top of the cartridge, or you may damage it.

Hold each cartridge with the arrow pointing toward the printer, then insert it into its slot until it clicks into place. Make sure you insert each cartridge all the way into the correct slot. After ink charging is completed, you need to load paper before READY will appear on the display.
