6 D-Link GO-RT-N150 User \fanual Section 2 - Installation Before you Begin This se\ftion will walk you through the installation pro\fess. Pla\fement o\b the router is very important. Do not pla\fe the router in an en\flosed area su\fh as a \floset \lor \fabinet, or in the atti\f or garage. • Please \fonfigure the router with the \fomputer that was last dire\ftly \fonne\fted to your modem. • You \fan only use the Ethernet port on your modem. I\b you were using the USB \fonne\ftion be\bore using the router, then you must turn off your modem, dis\fonne\ft the USB \fable and \fonne\ft an Ethernet \fable to the Internet port on the router, and then turn the modem ba\fk on. In some \fases, you may need to \fall your ISP to \fhange the \fonne\ftion type \brom USB to Ethernet. • I\b you have DSL and are \fonne\fting via PPPoE, make sure you disable or uninstall any PPPoE so\btware su\fh as WinPoet, Broadjump, or Enternet 300 \brom your \fomputer or you will be unable to \fonne\ft to the Internet.
