Placing Calls On Hold 4.1 Holding Calls You can place a call on hold and pick it back up a short time later. With a regular hold, you can pick up the held call at your telephone or another user can pick the call up. With an exclusive hold condition, you must pick up the held call at your telephone; no other telephone has access to it. 4.2 Handling Hold Recalls After a call has been on hold for a period of time (set by the installer of your system), the system will cause a hold recall tone burst to sound at your telephone and the flash rate of the line button to become faster. If the call is on exclusive hold, it will revert to manual hold after the hold recall period (you will hear four short tone bursts at 12-second intervals). 4.3 Parking Calls You can place a call on hold in the system so that it can be answered from any station that does not have line appearance for the call. You accomplish this by placing the call in one of nine park orbits, where the call remains until it is answered. If the call is not answered within a specified period of time, the system will send it back to your station for service (this is known as a park recall).
