91 Adjusting the Reduction Ratio ###HOME > Chapter 9 Regular Maintenance > Adjusting the Reduction Ratio### As the rollers installed in the scanner wear out, scanned images may become stretched in the vertical direction. If this happens, you can reduce the amount of stretching of the image by adjusting the reduction ratio. 1Start Windows and log in as a user with administrator privileges. 2Click the Start button, and then click [All Programs], [Canon DR-C225], and [Canon imageFORMULA Utility]. imageFORMULA Utility starts. 3Click [CANON DR-C225 USB] and click [Properties]. Scanner properties are displayed.
92 4Click the [Maintenance] tab and then change the value of [Reduction ratio adjustment]. The adjustment value can be set within the range from -3.0% to 3.0%. 5Click [OK] to close the scanner properties. 1Opens the scanner drivers Detail Settings screen. See Select document settings on p.52. This will open the advanced settings dialog box for the scanner. 2Click to display the [Scanner Information] dialog box. 3Click [Maintenance] to display the [Maintenance] dialog box.

The feed roller and retard roller wear with scanning. If the feed roller and retard roller are worn, documents may not feed correctly and paper jams or double-feed errors may occur. When more than 100,000 pages have been fed (total number of pages fed by the scanner), a message prompting you to replace the rollers is displayed when the computer is started. If this message begins to be displayed at startup, purchase an exchange roller kit and replace the worn parts with the consumable parts included in the kit (feed roller and retard roller). For details on the exchange roller kit, see Exchange roller kit (product code: 5484B001) on p.113.
95 Furthermore, the counter in the scanner that records the number of pages fed also needs to be reset when you replace the rollers. Press the OPEN button and pull open the front unit toward you. The location of each of the consumable parts is shown below.
96 2When closing the front unit, make sure that it is completely closed by gently pressing the left and right until you hear a click. 3Close the document feed tray. Replacing the Feed Roller ###HOME > Chapter 10 Replacing Consumable Parts > Replacing the Feed Roller### 1Open the roller cover. 2Slide the feed roller to the left, and then remove it. 3Install the new feed roller. When installing the feed roller, align the notch on the roller with the shaft of the front unit.
97 4Slide the roller to the right to secure it. 5Close the roller cover. Make sure that it is completely closed by pressing until you hear a click. Replacing the Retard Roller ###HOME > Chapter 10 Replacing Consumable Parts > Replacing the Retard Roller### 1Open the roller cover. 2Remove the retard roller and then install the new retard roller. When installing the retard roller, align the notch on the roller with the shaft of the main unit. 3Close the roller cover. Make sure that it is completely closed by pressing until you hear a click.

The scanner’s properties appear.

100 Auto Power Off Setting ###HOME > Chapter 10 Replacing Consumable Parts > Auto Power Off Setting### The scanner automatically turns off if 4 hours elapse without scanning or another operation being performed. To disable this setting, follow the procedure below. 1Start Windows and log in as a user with administrator privileges. 2Click the Start button, and then click [All Programs], [Canon DR-C225], and [Canon imageFORMULA Utility]. imageFORMULA Utility starts. 3Click [CANON DR-C225 USB] and click [Properties]. Scanner properties are displayed. The Auto Power Off setting is only available in Windows.
