151 By displaying multiple images in an index, you can quickly find the images you are looking for. Display images in an index. zMove the zoom lever toward g to display images in an index. Moving the lever again will increase the number of images shown. zTo display fewer images, move the zoom lever toward k. Fewer images are shown each time you move the lever. Choose an image. zTurn the 5 dial to scroll through the images.zPress the op buttons to choose an image. XAn orange frame is displayed around the selected image. zPress the m button to view the selected image in single-image display. When looking for images on a memory card containing many images, you can specify search conditions to display specific images only. You can also protect (p. 159) or erase (p. 163) all images in a search result at once. View the image search results. zChoose the type of images to view by pressing the opq buttons, and then press the m button. (Except when searching images by .) XImages matching the search conditions will display inside a yellow frame. zPress the qr buttons or turn the 5 dial to view image search results. zChoose in step 1 to cancel image search. • When the camera has found no corresponding images for a search condition, those search conditions will not be available. • Options for viewing images in a search result (step 3) include “Navigating Through Images in an Index” (p. 151), “Viewing Slideshows” (p. 156), and “Magnifying Images” (p. 156). You can protect, erase, or print all images in a search result at once by choosing “Select All Images in Search” in “Protecting Images” (p. 159), “Erasing All Images” (p. 163), “Adding Images to the Print List (DPOF)” (p. 210), or “Adding Images to a Photobook” (p. 214). • If you recategorize images (p. 168) or edit them and save them as new images (p. 172), a message is displayed and image search ends. Play the movie. zPress the m button to start playback. Grouped images shot in mode (p. 100) are generally displayed together, but they can also be viewed individually. Choose an image group. zPress the qr buttons or turn the 5 dial to choose an image labeled . Choose . zPress the m button, and then choose in the menu (p. 39). Editing Face ID Information 154 View individual images in the group. zPressing the qr buttons or turning the 5 dial will display only images in the group. zTo cancel group playback, press the m button, choose in the menu, and press the m button again (p. 39). If you notice that a name is incorrect during playback, you can change it or erase it. However, you cannot add names for people who are not detected by Face ID (names are not displayed), and for people whose names have been erased. Access the setting screen. zPress the n button and choose [Face ID Info] on the 1 tab (p. 40). zPress the op buttons or turn the 5 dial to choose [Edit ID Info], and then press the m button. • During group playback (step 3), you can use the menu functions accessed by pressing the m button. You can also browse through images quickly (p. 151) and magnify them (p. 156). You can protect, erase, or print all images in a group at once by choosing “Select All in Group” in “Protecting Images” (p. 159), “Erasing All Images” (p. 163), “Adding Images to the Print List (DPOF)” (p. 210), or “Adding Images to a Photobook” (p. 214). • To ungroup images so that you can view them individually, press the n button, choose [Group Images] on the 1 tab, and then choose [Off] (p. 40). When multiple names are displayed in an image, press the qr buttons or turn the 5 dial to choose the name to change, and press the m button. Choose [Overwrite]. zPress the op buttons or turn the 5 dial to choose [Overwrite], and then press the m button. Choose the name of the person to overwrite. zFollow step 2 on p. 75 to choose the name of the person you want to change. zFollowing step 3 above, choose [Erase] and press the m button. zAfter [Erase?] is displayed, press the qr buttons or turn the 5 dial to choose [OK], and then press the m button. 156 Magnify an image. zMoving the zoom lever toward k will zoom in and magnify the image. You can magnify images up to about 10x by continuing to hold the zoom lever. zTo zoom out, move the zoom lever toward g. You can return to single-image display by continuing to hold it. Move the display position and switch images as needed. zTo move the display position, press the op buttons. zTo switch to other images while zoomed, turn the 5 dial. Automatically play back images from a memory card as follows. Each image is displayed for about three seconds. Choose a slideshow transition and start playback. zPress the m button, choose . in the menu, and choose the desired option (p. 39). XThe slideshow will start a few seconds after [Loading image...] is displayed. zPress the n button to stop the slideshow. Image Viewing Options 157 You can set up slideshows to repeat, and you can change the transitions between images and the display duration of each image. Choose from six transition effects between images. Access the setting screen. zPress the n button and choose [Slideshow] on the 1 tab (p. 40). Configure the settings. zChoose a menu item to configure, and then choose the desired option (p. 40). zTo start the slideshow with your settings, choose [Start] and press the m button. zTo return to the menu screen, press the n button. •The camera’s power-saving functions (p. 36) are deactivated during slideshows. • To pause or resume slideshows, press the m button. • You can switch to other images during playback by pressing the qr buttons or turning the 5 dial. For fast-forward or fast-rewind, hold the qr buttons down. • In image search mode (p. 151), only images matching search conditions are played. Image Viewing Options 158 Based on the current image, the camera offers four images similar to it that you may wish to view. After you choose to view one of those images, the camera offers four more images. This is an enjoyable way to play back images in an unexpected order. Try this feature after you have taken many shots, in many kinds of scenes. Choose Smart Shuffle. zPress the m button, and then choose in the menu (p. 39). XFour candidate images are displayed. Choose an image. zPress the op buttons to choose the image you want to view next. XYour chosen image is displayed in the center, surrounded by the next four candidate images. zFor full-screen display of the center image, press the m button. To restore the original display, press the m button again.zPress the n button to restore single- image display. Auto Playback of Similar Images (Smart Shuffle) Still Images • Only still images shot with this camera are played back using Smart Shuffle. • [Smart Shuffle] is not available in the following cases: -There are less than 50 shots taken with this camera - An unsupported image is currently displayed - When using the image search function (p. 151) - During group playback (p. 153) COPY

Protecting Images Still ImagesMovies • Protected images on a memory card will be erased if you format the card (pp. 185, 186). • Protected images cannot be erased by the camera.
