    							Specific Scenes

    Each set of images shot continuously is managed as a single group, and only 
    the first image in that group will be displayed. To indicate that the image is 
    part of a group,   is displayed in the upper left of the screen.
    •Focus, image brightness, and color are determined by the first shot.
    • The screen is blank while you are shooting.
    • There may be a delay after continuous shooting before you can shoot again. 
    Additionally, depending on the memory card, there may be a delay before you 
    can shoot again. Speed Class 6 or higher memory cards are recommended.
    • Shooting may slow down depending on shooting conditions, camera settings, 
    and the zoom position.
    • When using Face ID (p. 69), the location in the image where the name is 
    recorded will be determined in the first shot, and will be recorded in the same 
    place for further shots.
    Images Displayed During Playback
    •If you erase a grouped image (p. 163), all images in the group are 
    also erased. Be careful when erasing images.
    • Grouped images can be played back individually (p. 153) and ungrouped 
    (p. 154).
    • Protecting (p. 159) a grouped image will protect all images in the group.
    • Grouped images can be viewed individually when played back using Image 
    Search (p. 151) or Smart Shuffle (p. 158). In this case, images are temporarily 
    ungrouped.
    • Grouped images cannot be tagged as favorites (p. 167), edited (pp. 165 – 177), 
    categorized (p. 168), printed (p. 204), set for printing individually (p. 212), or 
    added to a Photobook (p. 214), Face ID information cannot be edited (p. 73), 
    and they cannot be assigned as a start-up image (p. 184). To do these things, 
    either view grouped images individually (p. 153) or cancel grouping (p. 154) 
    first.

    Shoot a large subject by taking multiple shots at various positions, and then 
    use the included software to combine them into a panorama.
    Choose x or v .
    zFollow steps 1 – 2 on p. 93 and choose  x or 
    v .
    Take the first shot.
    XThe first shot will determine the exposure and 
    white balance.
    Take additional shots.
    zCompose the second shot so that it partially 
    overlaps the image area of first shot.
    zMinor misalignment of overlapping portions 
    will be corrected automatically when the 
    images are combined.
    zTake up to 26 shots, the same way you took 
    the second shot.
    Finish shooting.
    zPress the m  button.
    Use the software to combine the 
    images.

    the ImageBrowser EX User Guide .

    •This function is not available when using a TV as a display while shooting 
    (p. 200).

    Add a variety of effects to images when shooting.

    and then choose a shooting mode (p. 39).

    zShots in rich, vivid colors.

    zShots that resemble an old poster or 
    illustration.

    • In , , , , , and  modes, try taking some test shots 
    first, to make sure you obtain the desired results.

    Shoot with the distorting effect of a fish-eye lens.
    Choose .

    Choose an effect level.

    (either press the qr buttons or turn the 5 
    dial), and then press the l button again.XA preview is shown of how your shot will look 
    with the effect applied.
    Shoot.
    Creates the effect of a miniature model, by blurring image areas above and 
    below your selected area.
    You can also make movies that look like scenes in miniature models by 
    choosing the playback speed before the movie is recorded. People and 
    objects in the scene will move quickly during playback. Note that sound is not 
    recorded.
    Choose .

    Choose the area to keep in focus.
    zPress the l button.zMove the zoom lever to resize the frame, and 
    press the op buttons to move it.
    For movies, choose the movie 
    playback speed.
    zPress the n  button, and then choose the 
    speed by pressing the  qr buttons or turning 
    the  5 dial.
    Return to the shooting screen and 
    shoot.
    zPress the n  button to return to the 
    shooting screen, and then shoot.

    • The zoom is not available when shooting movies. Be sure to set the 
    zoom before shooting.
    • To switch the orientation of the frame (from horizontal to vertical or vice-versa), 
    press the m  button in step 2. You can move the frame in vertical orientation by 
    pressing the  qr buttons.
    • Holding the camera vertically will change the orientation of the frame.
    • Movie image quality is   at an aspect ratio of   and   at an aspect ratio of 
     (p. 78). These quality settings cannot be changed.

    This effect makes images resemble shots from a toy camera by vignetting 
    (darker, blurred image corners) and changing the overall color.
    Choose .

    Choose a color tone.
    zPress the l button, choose a color tone 
    (either press the qr  buttons or turn the 5 
    dial), and then press the  l button again.
    XA preview is shown of how your shot will look 
    with the effect applied.
    Shoot.
    This function allows you to shoot images as if a soft focus filter is attached to 
    the camera. You can adjust the effect level as desired.

    Choose a single image color to keep and change other colors to black and 
    white.
    Choose T.
    zFollow steps 1 – 2 on p. 103 and choose  T.
    Access the setting screen.
    zPress the l  button.XThe original image and the Color Accent 
    image are displayed one after another.
    XBy default, green is the color that will be kept.
    Specify the color.
    zPosition the center frame over the color to 
    keep, and then press the  q button.
    XThe specified color is recorded.
    Specify the range of colors to keep.
    zPress the op  buttons or turn the  5 dial to 
    adjust the range.
    zTo keep only your specified color, choose a 
    large negative value. To keep colors similar 
    to your specified color as well, choose a large 
    positive value.
    zPress the l button to return to the shooting 
    screen.

    • Using the flash in this mode may cause unexpected results.
    • In some shooting scenes, images may look grainy and colors may 
    not look as expected.

    You can replace one image color with another before shooting. Note that only 
    one color can be replaced.
    Choose Y.
    zFollow steps 1 – 2 on p. 103 and choose  Y.
    Access the setting screen.
    zPress the l  button.XThe original image and the Color Swap image 
    are displayed one after another.
    XBy default, green will be replaced with gray.
    Specify the color to replace.
    zPosition the center frame over the color to 
    replace, and then press the  q button.
    XThe specified color is recorded.
    Specify the new color.
    zPosition the center frame over the new color, 
    and then press the  r button.
    XThe specified color is recorded.
    Specify the range of colors to 
    replace.
    zPress the op  buttons or turn the  5 dial to 
    adjust the range.
    Shooting with Color Swap

    zTo replace only your specified color, choose 
    a large negative value. To replace colors 
    similar to your specified color as well, choose 
    a large positive value.
    zPress the l button to return to the shooting 
    screen.
    Shoot without activating camera sounds, the flash, or lamp as follows. Use 
    this mode where camera sounds, the flash, and lights are prohibited.
    Enter  mode.
    zSet the mode dial to  .
    Shoot.
    • Using the flash in this mode may cause unexpected results.
    • In some shooting scenes, images may look grainy and colors may 
    not look as expected.
    Discreet Mode

    • In   mode, even playback sounds are muted. Sounds of camera operations 
    are muted, and movie audio is also muted.
