Movies shot at a resolution of [ ] or [] can be viewed in high definition. 1 Make sure the camera and TV are off. 2 Connect the camera to the TV. zOn the TV, insert the cable plug fully into the HDMI input as shown. z On the camera, open the terminal cover and insert the cable plug fully into the camera terminal. 3 Turn the TV on and switch to video input. zSwitch the TV input to the video input you connected the cable to in step 2. 4 Turn the camera on. zPress the button to turn the camera on. zImages from the camera are now displayed on the TV. (Nothing is displayed on the camera screen.) zWhen finished, turn off the camera and TV before disconnecting the cable. • Touch-screen operations are not supported while the camera is connected to a television. • Camera operating sounds are not played while the camera is connected to \ an HDTV.

Depending on the TV, you may need to adjust some TV settings. For details, refer to the TV manual. 1 Configure the setting. zPress the button, choose [Ctrl via HDMI] on the [3] tab, and then choose [Enable] ( = 26). 2 Connect the camera to the TV. zFollow steps 1 – 2 in “Playback on a High-Definition TV” ( = 164) to connect the camera to the TV. 3 Display images. zTurn on the TV. On the camera, press the button. zImages from the camera are now displayed on the TV. (Nothing is displayed on the camera screen.) 4 Control the camera with the TV remote. zPress the buttons on the remote to browse images. zTo display the camera control panel, press the OK/Select button. Select control panel options by pressing the buttons to choose an option, and then pressing the OK/Select button again.

Still ImagesMovies Playback on a Standard-Definition TV Connecting the camera to a TV with the Stereo AV Cable AVC-DC400ST (sold separately) enables you to view your shots on the larger screen \ of the TV as you control the camera. 1 Make sure the camera and TV are off. 2 Connect the camera to the TV. zOn the TV, insert the cable plugs fully into the video inputs as shown. z On the camera, open the terminal cover and insert the cable plug fully into the camera terminal. T o change the video output format, press the button and choose [Video System] on the [3] tab. • Touch-screen operations are not supported while the camera is connected to a television. • When the camera and TV are connected, you can also shoot while previewing shots on the larger screen of the TV. T o shoot, follow the same steps as when using the camera screen. However, AF-Point Zoom ( = 50) is not available. Also, note that TV output is not available in [] (= 55) or [] mode. Still ImagesMovies Powering the Camera with Household Power Powering the camera with AC Adapter Kit ACK-DC100 (sold separately) eliminates the need to monitor the remaining battery level. 1 Make sure the camera is off. 2 Open the cover. zFollow step 1 in “Inserting the Battery Pack and Memory Card” ( = 13) to open the memory card/battery cover, and then open the coupler cable port cover as shown. 3 Insert the coupler. zInsert the coupler facing the direction shown, just as you would a battery pack (following step 2 in “Inserting the Battery Pack and Memory Card” ( = 13)). Coupler Cable Port • Do not disconnect the adapter or unplug the power cord while the camera is still on. This may erase your shots or damage the camera. • Do not attach the adapter or adapter cord to other objects. Doing so could result in malfunction or damage to the product.

For other functions, refer to the help system of the relevant software (\ some software excluded). 1 Connect the camera to the computer. zWith the camera turned off, open the cover (). With the smaller plug of the USB cable in the orientation shown, insert the plug fully into the camera terminal ( ). zInsert the larger plug of the USB cable in the computer’s USB port. For details about USB connections on the computer, refer to the computer user manual. 2 Turn the camera on to access CameraWindow. zPress the button to turn the camera on. zMac OS: CameraWindow is displayed when a connection is established between the camera and computer. zWindows: Follow the steps introduced below. zIn the screen that displays, click the [] link to modify the program. zChoose [Downloads Images From Canon Camera] and then click [OK]. zDouble-click []. 3 Save the images to the computer. zClick [Import Images from Camera], and then click [Import Untransferred Images]. zImages are now saved to the Pictures folder on the computer, in separate folders named by date.
