Nothing will be displayed on the camera screen. 11 For a smartphone connection: Adjust the privacy setting. zPress the buttons to choose [Yes], and then press the button. zYou can now use the smartphone to browse, import, or geotag ( = 147) images on the camera or shoot remotely (= 148).

Follow the steps in “Saving Images to a Computer” ( = 142) to save images to the computer. zWhen the camera is connected to a printer, you can print by following the same steps as for printing via USB. For details, see “Printing Images” ( = 171). • All images in the camera can be viewed from the connected smartphone when you choose [Yes] in step 11. T o keep camera images private, so that they cannot be viewed from the smartphone, choose [No] in step 11. • To change privacy settings for smartphones added to the list, choose the smartphone whose settings you want to change from [Edit a Device] in step 4, and then choose [View Settings]. • If you chose [PIN Method] in step 6, a PIN code will be displayed on the\ screen. Be sure to set this code in the access point. Choose a device in\ the [Select a Device] screen. For further details, refer to the user manual \ included with your access point. • To add multiple destinations, repeat this procedure from the first step. • Once you have assigned a connection destination to Touch Actions ( = 106), you can prepare the camera to reconnect to the destination simply by dra\ gging across the screen with the assigned gesture. Previous Access PointsYou can reconnect to any previous access points automatically by followin\ g step 4 in “Connecting to WPS-Compatible Access Points” ( = 130). • To reconnect to the access point, confirm that the target device is alrea\ dy connected to it, and then follow the procedure from step 9. Note that th\ is step is not required when connecting to Web services. • To switch access points, choose [Switch Network] on the screen displayed when you establish a connection, and then follow the procedure from step 5.

If no access points are detect\ ed, choose [Manual Settings] in step 2 to manually set an access point. Similarly, no access point is used in camera-to-camera connections (= 138). 1 Access the Wi-Fi menu (= 128 ). 2 Choose the target device. zPress the buttons to choose the target device, and then press the button. zTo connect to a smartphone, choose []. zTo connect to a printer, choose [2]. 3 Choose [Add a Device]. zPress the buttons to choose [Add a Device], and then press the < m> button. z The camera’s SSID is displayed. 4 Connect the target device to the network. zIn the smartphone or printer’s Wi-Fi setting menu, choose the SSID (network name) displayed on the camera to connect to it.

To keep camera images private, so that they cannot be viewed from the smartphone, choose [No] in step 7. • T o change privacy settings for smartphones added to the list, choose the smartphone whose settings you want to change from [Edit a Device] in step 3, and then choose [View Settings]. • To add multiple devices, repeat this procedure from the first step. • For better security, you can require password input on the screen in step 3 by accessing MENU ( = 26) and choosing [3] tab > [Wi-Fi Settings] > [Password] > [On]. In this case, in the password field on the device in \ step 4, enter the password displayed on the camera. • Once you have assigned a connection destination to Touch Actions ( = 106), you can prepare the camera to reconnect to the destination simply by dra\ gging across the screen with the assigned gesture.

Proceed to “Sending Images” (= 139). • To add multiple cameras, repeat this procedure from the first step. • Once a camera is added, the camera name will be displayed on the screen \ in step 3. To connect to a camera again, simply choose the camera name from the list. • Once you have assigned a connection destination to T ouch Actions (= 106), you can prepare the camera to reconnect to the destination simply by dra\ gging across the screen with the assigned gesture. Connecting to Another Camera Connect two cameras via Wi-Fi and send images between them as follows. • Only Canon-brand cameras equipped with a Wi-Fi function can be connected\ to wirelessly. Even Canon-brand cameras that support Eye-Fi cards cannot be connected to if they do not have a Wi-Fi function. You cannot connect to DIGIT AL IXUS WIRELESS cameras with this camera. 1 Access the Wi-Fi menu (= 128 ). 2 Choose camera. zPress the buttons to choose [4], and then press the button. 3 Choose [Add a Device]. zPress the buttons to choose [Add a Device], and then press the < m> button. zFollow steps 1 – 3 on the target camera too. zCamera connection information will be added when [Start connection on target camera] is displayed on both camera screens.

Note that this may delay transmission, and the file cannot be sent unless there is enough space for it on the memory card. • Keep your fingers or other objects off the Wi-Fi antenna area ( = 3). Covering this may decrease the speed of your image transfers. • Depending on the condition of the network you are using, it may take a l\ ong time to send movies. Be sure to keep an eye on the camera battery level.\ • When sending movies to smartphones, note that the supported image qualit\ y varies depending on the smartphone. For details, refer to the smartphone\ user manual. • To disconnect from the camera, press the button. After the confirmation message, press the < q> buttons to choose [OK], and then press the button. You can also use the smartphone to end the connection. • On the screen, wireless signal strength is indicated by the following ic\ ons. [ ] high, [] medium, [] low, [] weak • Sending images to Web services will take less time when resending images you have already sent that are still on the CANON iMAGE GATEWA Y server. Sending Images Send images wirelessly to destinations registered on the camera as follo\ ws. Note that when images are sent to a computer, the computer is used instead of the camera (= 142). Sending Images Individually 1 Choose an image. zDrag left or right across the screen to choose an image to send. 2 Send the image. zPress the buttons to choose [Send this image], and then press the button. zWhen uploading to YouTube, read the terms of service, choose [I Agree], and press the button. zImage transfer will begin. The screen darkens during image transfer. zAfter images are uploaded to a Web service, [OK] is displayed. Press the button to return to the playback screen.

[ ] is displayed. zTo cancel selection, press the < m> button again. [] is no longer displayed. zRepeat this process to choose additional images. zAfter you finish choosing images, press the button. 3 Send the images. zPress the buttons to choose [Send], and then press the button. Choosing the Image Resolution (Size)On the image transfer screen, choose [] by pressing the buttons, and then press the button. On the next screen, choose the resolution by pressing the < o> buttons, and then press the button. • To send images at original size, select [No] as the resizing option. • Choosing [ ] or [] will resize images that are larger than the selected size before sending. • Movies cannot be resized.
