91 Before Use Basic Guide Advanced Guide Camera Basics Auto Mode Other Shooting Modes P Mode Playback Mode Wi-Fi Functions Setting Menu Accessories Appendix Index Hybrid Auto / Dual Capture Mode Still Images Checking People Detected in Face ID If you switch the camera to simple information display mode (= 89), the names of up to five detected people registered in Face ID ( = 41) will be displayed. zPress the button several times until simple information display is activated, and then press the < q> buttons to choose an image. zNames will be displayed on detected people. • If you prefer not to have names displayed on images shot using Face ID, \ choose MENU ( = 26) > [1] tab > [Face ID Info] > [Name Display] > [Off]. Browsing and Filtering Images Still ImagesMovies Navigating through Images in an Index By displaying multiple images in an index, you can quickly find the imag\ es you are looking for. 1 Display images in an index. zMove the zoom lever toward < g> to display images in an index. Moving the lever again will increase the number of images shown. zTo display fewer images, move the zoom lever toward . Fewer images are shown each time you move the lever. 2 Choose an image. zPress the buttons to choose an image. zAn orange frame is displayed around the selected image. zPress the button to view the selected image in single-image display. • To deactivate the 3D display effect (shown if you hold down the < o> buttons), choose MENU ( = 26) > [1] tab > [Index Effect] > [Off].

Still ImagesMovies Finding Images Matching Specified Conditions Find desired images quickly on a memory card full of images by filtering\ image display according to your specified conditions. You can also protect (= 98) or delete (= 101) these images all at once. Name Displays images of a registered person ( = 42). PeopleDisplays images with detected faces. Shot Date Displays the images shot on a specific date. FavoritesDisplays images tagged as favorites ( = 104). Still image/MovieDisplays only still images or movies. Displays still images, movies, or movies shot in [] mode (= 55). 1 Choose a search condition. zPress the button, choose [] in the menu, and choose a condition (= 25). zWhen you have selected [], [], or [], choose the condition by pressing the buttons on the screen displayed, and then press the button.

To view only these images, press the < q> buttons. zTo cancel filtered display, choose [] in step 1. Still Images Viewing Individual Images in a Group Images shot consecutively ( = 40) or in [] mode (= 40, 62) are displayed as a group but can also be viewed individually. 1 Choose a grouped image. zPress the buttons to choose an image labeled with []. 2 Choose []. zPress the button, and then choose [] in the menu (= 25). 3 View images in the group individually. zPressing the buttons will display only images in the group. zTo cancel group playback, press the button, choose [] in the menu, and press the button again (= 25). • During group playback (step 3), you can use the menu functions accesse\ d by pressing the button. You can also browse through images quickly “Navigating through Images in an Index” ( = 91) and magnify them “Magnifying Images” ( = 95). By choosing [All Images in Group] for “Protecting Images” (= 98), “Erasing Multiple Images at Once” ( = 101), “Adding Images to the Print List (DPOF)” (= 177), or “Adding Images to a Photobook” ( = 180), all images in the group can be manipulated at once. • To ungroup images so that they are displayed only as single still images,\ choose MENU ( = 26) > [ 1] tab > [Group Images] > [Off] ( = 26). However, grouped images cannot be ungrouped during individual playback. • Simultaneous display in [ ] mode as described in step 2 of “Enjoying a Variety of Images from Each Shot (Creative Shot)” (= 62) is only shown immediately after you shoot. • You can also view grouped images individually by touching [ ] on the screen in step 1 and then touching [].

However, you cannot add names for people who are not detected by Face ID (names are not displayed), and for people whose names have been erased. Changing Names 1 Access the setting screen. zPress the button and choose [Face ID Info] on the [ 1] tab (= 26). zPress the buttons to choose [Edit ID Info], and then press the button. 2 Choose an image. zFollowing the procedure in “Checking People Detected in Face ID” ( = 91), choose an image and press the < m> button. z An orange frame is displayed around the selected face. When multiple names are displayed in an image, press the < q> buttons to choose the name to change, and then press the < m> button. 3 Choose the editing option. zPress the buttons to choose [Overwrite], and then press the button. 4 Choose the name of the person to overwrite with. zFollow step 2 in “Overwriting and Adding Face Information” (= 45) to choose the name of the person you want to overwrite with. • You can also access the [Edit ID Info] screen by touching an image on the\ screen in step 2, touching [] to display the orange frame, and then touching the face to overwrite its name. • You can also choose editing options by touching them in step 3. Erasing Names zFollowing step 3 in “Changing Names” (= 94), choose [Erase] and press the button. zAfter [Erase?] is displayed, press the buttons to choose [OK], and then press the button. • You can also erase names by touching [OK] after [Erase?] is displayed.

You can magnify images up to about 10x by continuing to hold the zoom lever. zTo zoom out, move the zoom lever toward . You can return to single- image display by continuing to hold it. 2 Move the display position and switch images as needed. zTo move the display position, press the buttons. zWhile [] is displayed, you can switch to [] by pressing the button. To switch to other images while zoomed, press the buttons. Press the button again to restore the original setting. Approximate Position of Displayed Area • You can return to single-image display from magnified display by pressing\ the button. Touch-Screen Operations zSpread your fingers apart (pinch out) to zoom in. zYou can magnify images up to about 10x by repeating this action. zTo move the display position, drag across the screen. zPinch in to zoom out. zTouch [] to restore single-image display.

Each image is displayed for about three seconds. z Press the button, choose [.] in the menu, and choose the desired option (= 25). zThe slideshow will start after [Loading image] is displayed for a few seconds. zPress the button to stop the slideshow. • The camera’s power-saving functions ( = 23) are deactivated during slideshows. • To pause or resume slideshows, press the < m> button. • You can switch to other images during playback by pressing the < q> buttons. For fast-forward or fast-rewind, hold the < q> buttons down. • In image search mode ( = 92), only images matching search conditions are played. • Slideshows can also be started by using Touch Actions ( = 106). Changing Slideshow SettingsYou can set up slideshows to repeat, and you can change the transitions between images and the display duration of each image. 1 Access the setting screen. zPress the button, and then choose [Slideshow] on the [ 1] tab (= 26). 2 Configure the settings. zChoose a menu item to configure, and then choose the desired option ( = 26). zTo start the slideshow with your settings, choose [Start] and press the button. zTo return to the menu screen, press the button.

After you choose to view one of those images, the camera offers four more images. This is an enjoyable way to play back images in an unexpected order. Try this feature after you have taken many shots, in many kinds of scenes. 1 Choose Smart Shuffle. zPress the button, and then choose [] in the menu (= 25). zFour candidate images are displayed. 2 Choose an image. zPress the buttons to choose the image you want to view next. zYour chosen image is displayed in the center, surrounded by the next four candidate images. zFor full-screen display of the center image, press the button. To restore the original display, press the < m> button again. zPress the button to restore single-image display. • Only still images shot with this camera are played back using Smart Shuffle. • Smart Shuffle is not available in the following cases: - There are less than 50 shots taken with this camera - An unsupported image is currently displayed - Images are shown in filtered display ( = 92) - During group playback ( = 93) • On the screen in step 2, touching an image above, below, or on either side will show your chosen image in the center, surrounded by the next four candidate images. • For full-screen display of the center image in step 2, touch that image.\ To restore the original display , touch the screen again.

[Protected] is displayed. zTo cancel protection, repeat this process and choose [ :] again, and then press the button. • Protected images on a memory card will be erased if you format the card (= 156). • Protected images cannot be erased using the camera’s erasure function. To erase them this way, first cancel protection. Using the Menu 1 Access the setting screen. zPress the button and choose [Protect] on the [ 1] tab (= 26). 2 Choose a selection method. zChoose a menu item and an option as desired ( = 26). zTo return to the menu screen, press the button. Choosing Images Individually 1 Choose [Select]. zFollowing step 2 in “Using the Menu” (= 98), choose [Select] and press the button. 2 Choose an image. zPress the buttons to choose an image, and then press the < m> button. [ ] is displayed. zTo cancel selection, press the < m> button again. [] is no longer displayed. zRepeat this process to specify other images.

A confirmation message is displayed. zPress the buttons to choose [OK], and then press the button. • Images will not be protected if you switch to Shooting mode or turn the camera of f before finishing the setup process in step 3. • You can also select or clear images by touching the screen in step 2, and\ you can access the confirmation screen by touching []. • You can also protect images by touching [OK] on the screen in step 3. Selecting a Range 1 Choose [Select Range]. zFollowing step 2 in “Using the Menu” (= 98), choose [Select Range] and press the button. 2 Choose a starting image. zPress the button. zPress the buttons to choose an image, and then press the < m> button. 3 Choose an ending image. zPress the button to choose [Last image], and then press the < m> button.

Specifying All Images at Once 1 Choose [Select All Images]. zFollowing step 2 in “Using the Menu” (= 98), choose [Select All Images] and press the button. 2 Protect the images. zPress the buttons to choose [Protect], and then press the button. • To cancel protection for groups of images, choose [Unlock] in step 4 of “Selecting a Range” or in step 2 of “Specifying All Images at Once”. • You can also protect or unlock images by touching [Protect] or [Unlock] o\ n the screen in step 2.
