The Paper Reference Guide identifies types of paper and gives specifications, printer driver settings, and tips on handling paper. (See Paper Reference Guide .) By downloading the latest version of the Media Configuration Tool from the imagePROGRAF website, you can make sure the paper information indicated in the Paper Reference Guide, on the printer Control Panel, and in the printer driver is up to date. Updating paper information To update the paper information in the Paper Reference Guide and on the printer, download the latest version of the Media Configuration Tool from the imagePROGRAF website. For information about the Media Configuration Tool, see Media Configuration Tool →P.406 (Windows) or Media Configuration Tool →P.539 (Macintosh). The imagePROGRAF website is accessible from imagePROGRAF Support Information.Important • When you use the Media Configuration Tool to update information about paper, the types of paper on the printer Control Panel, in the printer driver, and in related software are updated. • Windows 1. Rolls have a two- or three-inch paper core. Use the correct attachment for the paper core. The printer comes equipped with the 2-Inch Paper Core Attachment installed. Important • Cut the edge of the roll paper if it is uneven, dirty, or has tape residue. Otherwise, it may cause feeding prob- lems and affect the printing quality. Be careful not to cut through any barcodes printed on the roll. • Align the edges of the paper on both ends of the roll. This may cause feeding problems. Caution • Set the roll on a table or other flat surface so that it does not roll or fall. Rolls are heavy, and dropping a roll may cause injury.
