0JFC -00X Basic Print Operations This section explains how to print a document on your computer by using the printer driver. Open a document in an application and display the print dialog box. How to display the print dialog box differs for each application. For more information, see the instruction manual for the application you are using. Select this machine and click [Preferences] or [Properties]. The screen that is displayed differs depending on the application you are using. Set the paper size. [Page Size] Select the size that you used when you created the document in the application. [Output Size] Select the paper size to be used in the actual printing. If you select a size that differs from [Page Size], the printer driver will automatically enlarge or reduce the data to match the [Output Size]. Enlarging or Reducing In the [Paper Source] tab, select the paper type. Set [Paper Type] according to the type of paper to be used in the printing. Paper Type and Printer Driver Paper Settings Set other printing preferences as necessary. Various Print Settings You can register the settings you specified in this step as a "profile" and use the profile whenever you print. Click [OK]. Click [Print] or [OK]. Printing starts. On some applications, a screen like the one shown below appears. If a screen like the one shown above appears, you can cancel printing by clicking [Cancel]. If the screen disappears or is never displayed, you can cancel printing in other ways. Canceling Print Jobs If you become dirty from the toner of printed sheets or if toner comes off the page If you use paper with a coarse surface or cloth becomes dirty from toner, set [Paper Type] to [Rough 1] (60 to 90 g/m²) or [Rough 2] (91 to 163 g/m²). Do not touch printed pages. Do not touch newly printed sheets with your fingers or a cloth. You may get your fingers or the cloth dirty, and the toner may come off the page. When printing from a Windows Store app in Windows 8/Server 2012 Display the charms on the right side of the screen, and proceed as follows. 0JFC -00Y Canceling Print Jobs There are two methods of canceling printing: from a computer and from the operation panel of the printer. From a Computer From the Operation Panel You can cancel print jobs from the Printer Status Window. Select the machine by clicking in the system tray. The Printer Status Window is displayed. Cancel the print job. To cancel a print job that is currently printing Click . Printing of the current document is canceled. To cancel a print job that is waiting 1Select [Job] [Job Status]. 2Select the document that you want to cancel, and click [Delete]. This screen displays up to five documents. 3Click [OK]. Printing of the selected document is canceled. Several pages may be output after you cancel printing. TIPS Canceling from the Remote UI You can cancel printing from the [Job Status] page on the Remote UI. Checking the Current Status of Print Documents Canceling from an application On some applications, a screen like the one shown below is displayed during printing. You can cancel printing by clicking [Cancel]. If the (Cancel Job) key of the operation panel is pressed, the print job that is currently printing is canceled. Several pages may be output after you cancel printing. If you want to prevent inadvertent canceling of printing due to misuse of the key, you can restrict use of the (Cancel Job) key. Make the necessary setting with the [Options] menu [Device Settings] [Settings for Cancel Job Key] dialog box of the Printer Status Window. 0JFC -010 Checking the Print Status You can check the current print status in the Printer Status Window. This is convenient if you have been waiting for a long time for your document to be printed, and you want to see a list of the documents waiting to be printed. Select the machine by clicking in the system tray. Select [Job] [Job Status]. A list of up to 5 documents appears, showing documents that are being printed or waiting to be printed. TIPS Checking from the Remote UI You can check the print status on the [Job Status] page of the Remote UI. Checking the Current Status of Print Documents Checking the history of printed documents You can check the history of documents that have been printed on the [Job Log] page of the Remote UI. When you cannot find printouts that you thought had been printed, you may want to check whether an error has occurred. 0JFC -012 Enlarging or Reducing You can make enlarged or reduced printouts by using a preset print ratio, such as A5 to A4, or a custom print ratio that you set in increments of 1%. Specifying the Print Ratio by Specifying the Original Document and Paper Size (Preset Ratio) The print ratio is set automatically based on the document and paper size you have selected.[Basic Settings] tab Select the document size in [Page Size] Select the paper size in [Output Size] [OK] Specifying the Print Ratio in Increments of 1% [Basic Settings] tab Select the [Manual Scaling] check box Enter the print ratio in [Scaling] [OK] Depending on the selected paper size, you may not be able to set an appropriate enlarging/reducing ratio. For example, there may be large blank spaces on your printout, or portions of the document may be missing. 0JFC -050 Switching between 1-Sided and 2-Sided Printing This machine can perform both 1 -sided and 2 -sided printing. The default setting is [2 -sided Printing]. Change the setting as necessary. 2 -sided printing may not be available with some sizes and types of paper. Paper [Basic Settings] tab Select [1 -sided Printing] or [2 -sided Printing] in [1 -sided/2-sided/Booklet Printing] Select the position to bind in [Binding Location] [OK] [1 - sided/2 - sided/Booklet Printing] Select [1 -sided Printing] or [2 -sided Printing]. For [Booklet Printing], see Printing Booklet . [Binding Location] When binding a printed document using a stapler or similar, specify the binding position on the document. Printing orientation will be changed depending on the specified binding position. To specify the margin width for the binding position, click [Gutter]. [Long Edge [Left]] Prints a document in such a way that the printed pages are opened horizontally when they are bound on the long edge. [Short Edge [Top]]Prints a document in such a way that the printed pages are opened vertically when they are bound on the short edge.
