    You can magnify the image by 1.5x to 10x on the LCD monitor.
    1Magnify the image.
    During image playback, press the 
     button.
     The image will be magnified.
     To increase the magnification, hold 
    down the < u> button. The image will 
    continue to be magnified until it 
    reaches the maximum magnification.
     Press the < I> button to reduce 
    the magnification. If you hold down 
    the button, the magnification will 
    continue to reduce to the single 
    image display.
    2Scroll around the image.
     Use < 9> to scroll around the 
    magnified image.
     To exit the magnified display, press 
    the < x> button and the single-
    image display will return.

     You can turn the < 6> dial to view another image while the 
    magnification is maintained.
     Magnified view is not possible during the image review immediately after 
    the image is taken.
     A movie cannot be magnified.

    You can rotate the displayed image to the desired orientation.
    1Select [Rotate].
    Under the [3 ] tab, select [Rotate], 
    then press < 0>.
    2Select the image.
     Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
    image to be rotated.
     You can also select an image on the 
    index display.
    3Rotate the image.
    Each time you press , the 
    image will rotate clockwise as follows: 
    90°  → 270°  → 0°
     To rotate another image, repeat steps 
    2 and 3.
     To exit and return to the menu, press 
    the < M > button.
    b Rotating the Image
     If you have set [ 5 Auto rotate ] to [OnzD ] (p.190) before taking 
    vertical shots, you need not rotate the image as described above.
     If the rotated image is not displayed in the rotated orientation during 
    image playback, set the [ 5 Auto rotate ] menu option to [ OnzD ].
     A movie cannot be rotated.

    You can rate images and movies with one of five rating marks: l/m /n/o /p . This function is called rating.
    1Select [Rating].
    Under the [3 ] tab, select [Rating], 
    then press < 0>.
    2Select an image or movie.
     Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
    image or movie to be rated.
     You can display three images by 
    pressing the < I> button. To 
    return to the single-image display, 
    press the < u> button.
    3Rate the image or movie.
     Pressing < 0> will turn off the [ s] 
    icon.
     Turn the < 5> dial to select a rating.
     The total number of images and 
    movies rated will be counted for each 
    rating.
     To rate another image or movie, 
    repeat steps 2 and 3.
     Press the < M> button to return to 
    the menu.
    3  Setting Ratings
    You cannot rate the images and movies shot when the firmware version was 
    1.x.x with the camera updated to version 2.x.x.

    3 Setting Ratings
    The total number of images with a given rating can be displayed up to 999. If 
    there are more than 999 images with a given rating, [ ###] will be displayed 
    for that rating.
    Taking advantage of ratings With [4  Image jump w/ 6] menu, you can display only rated images 
    and movies.
     With [4  Slide show ] menu, you can play back only rated images and 
    movies.
     With Digital Photo Professional (provided software, p.282), you can 
    select only rated images and movies.
     With Windows Vista and Windows 7, yo u can see each file’s rating as 
    part of the file information display or in the provided image viewer.

    During playback, you can press the  button to set the following: 
    [K : Protect images ], [b : Rotate image], [9 : Rating ], [S: Resize] 
    (JPEG image only), [ : Highlight alert], [:AF point display], [e : 
    Image jump w/6 ].
    For movies, only the functions in bold above can be set.
    1Press the  button.
    During image playback, press the 
     button.
     The Quick Control screen will appear.
    2Select a function and set it.
     Tilt < 9> up or down to select a 
    function.
     The setting of the selected function is 
    displayed at the bottom.
     Turn the < 5> dial to set the function.
     For Resize, press < 0> and set the 
    function. For details, see page 197. 
    To cancel, press the < M> button.
    3Exit the setting.
    Press the < Q> button and the Quick 
    Control screen will turn off.

    To rotate an image, set [ 5 Auto rotate ] menu to [OnzD ]. If [ 5 Auto 
    rotate ] menu is set to [On D] or [ Off], the [b  Rotate image ] setting will be 
    recorded to the image, but the camera will not rotate the image for display.
     Pressing the < Q> button during the index display will switch to the 
    single-image display and the Quick Control screen will appear. Pressing 
    the < Q> button again will return to the index display.
     For images taken with another camera, selectable functions may be 
    limited.

    Basically, there are the following three ways to playback the movies you shot.
    Use the provided AV cable or an HDMI 
    Cable HTC-100 (sold separately) to 
    connect the camera to a TV set. Then 
    you can playback the captured movies 
    and photos on the TV.
    If you have a High-Definition TV set and 
    connect your camera to it with an HDMI 
    cable, you can watch Full HD (Full High-
    Definition 1920x1080) and HD (High-
    Definition 1280x720) movies with higher 
    image quality.
    You can playback the movie on the 
    camera’s LCD monitor and even edit out 
    the first and last scenes. You can also 
    playback the photos and movies 
    recorded in the card as an automatic 
    slide show.

     Movies on a card can be played only by devices compatible with MOV 
    files.
     Since hard disk recorders do not have an HDMI IN terminal, the camera 
    cannot be connected with an HDMI cable. 
     Even if the camera is connected to a hard disk recorder with a USB 
    cable, movies and photos  cannot be played nor saved.
    A movie edited with a personal computer cannot be rewritten to the card and 
    played back with the camera.

    k Enjoying Movies
    The movie files recorded on the card can 
    be transferred to a personal computer 
    and played with ImageBrowser EX 
    (provided software).
    Playback and Editing with a Personal Computer(p.282)
    To have the movie play back smoothly on a personal computer, use a 
    high-performance personal computer. Regarding the computer hardware 
    requirements for ImageBrowser EX, refer to the PDF file ImageBrowser 
    EX User Guide.
     If you want to use commercially-availa ble software to play back or edit 
    the movies, be sure it is compatib le with MOV files. For details on 
    commercially-available software, contact the software maker.

    1Playback the image.
    Press the < x> button to display the 
    image.
    2Select a movie.
    Turn the  dial to select the image. During the single-image display, the 
     icon displayed on the 
    upper left indicates that it is a movie.
    
    During the index display, the perforation 
    on the left edge of the image indicates that 
    it is a movie. 
    Movies cannot be played 
    on the index display, so press  to 
    switch to the sing le-image display.
    3On the single-image display, 
    press .
    The movie playback panel will appear 
    on the bottom.
    4Playback the movie.
     Turn the < 5> dial to select [ 7] 
    (play), then press < 0>.
     The movie will start playing.
     You can pause the movie playback by 
    pressing < 0>.
     During movie playback, you can 
    adjust the sound volume by turning 
    the < 6> dial.
     For more details on the playback 
    procedure, see the next page.

     ExitReturns to the single-image display.
    7 PlayPressing  toggles between play and pause.
    8 Slow motionAdjust the slow motion speed by turning the < 5> dial. The 
    slow-motion speed is indicated on the upper right.
    5 First frameDisplays the movie’s first frame.
    3 Previous frameEach time you press , a single previous frame is 
    displayed. If you hold down < 0>, it will rewind the movie.
    6 Next frameEach time you press , the movie will play frame-by-
    frame. If you hold down < 0>, it will fast forward the 
    movie.
    4 Last frameDisplays the movie’s last scene.
    X  EditDisplays the editing screen (p.181).

    9 Vo l u m eYou can adjust the built-in speaker’s (p.17) sound volume 
    by turning the < 6> dial.
    The camera may not be able to play movies shot by another camera.
    With a fully-charged Battery Pack LP -E6, the continuous playback time 
    at 23°C/73°F will be as follows: Approx. 3 hr.
     During the single-image display, press the < B> button to switch the 
    shooting information display (p.244).
     If you took a still photo when you shot the movie, the still photo will be 
    displayed for about 1 sec. during the movie playback.
     If you connect the camera to a TV set (p.184-185) to playback a movie, 
    adjust the sound volume with the TV set. (Turning the < 6> dial will not 
    adjust the sound volume.)
