8: Custom Controls 324 When you press the button assigned to this function, metering and AF are executed. The AF will stop while you hold down the button assigned to this functio\ n. Convenient when you want to lock the focus during AI Servo AF. You can switch the AF operation. In One-Shot AF mode, when you hold down the button to which this function is assigned, the camera switches to AI Servo AF mode. In the AI Servo AF mode, the camera switches to One-Shot AF mode only while yo u hold down the button. Convenient when you need to keep switching bet ween One-Shot AF and AI Servo AF for a subject that keeps moving and stopping. During metering, you can select an AF point directly with without pressing the button. When you press the shutter button halfway, only exposure metering is performed. AE lock: When you press the button a ssigned to this function, you can lock the exposure (AE lock) du ring the metering. Convenient when you want to focus and mete r the shot at different areas or when you want to take multiple shots at the same exposure setting. 325 8: Custom Controls When you press the button assigned to this function, you can lock the exposure (AE lock) during the mete ring. Convenient when you want to focus and meter the shot at different areas or when you want to take multiple shots at the same exposure setting. The exposure will be locked (AE lock) while you press the shutter button. When you press the button assigned to this function, you can lock the exposure (AE lock). The AE lock will be maintained until you press the button again. Convenient when you want to focu s and meter the shot at different areas or when you want to take multiple shots at the same exposure setting. During flash photography, pressing the button assigned to this function will fire a preflash and record the required flash output (FE lock). You can set the ISO speed by holding down and turning the < 6 > dial. If Auto ISO is set, manual ISO speed setting will take effect. Auto ISO cannot be set. If you use th is function in the mode, you can adjust the exposure with the ISO speed whil e maintaining the current shutter speed and aperture. In manual exposure < a>, you can set the shutter speed with the < 6 > or < 5> dial. 8: Custom Controls 326 Press < 0> to display the flash exposure compensation setting screen (p.170) on the LCD monitor. Press < 0> to display the image-recording quality setting screen (p.102) on the LCD monitor. Press < 0> to display the Picture Style selection setting screen (p.112) on the LCD monitor. When you press the depth-of-field preview button, the aperture will stop down and you can check the depth of field (p.147). With the lens’ IS switch set to < 1>, the lens’ Image Stabilizer operates when you press the button assigned to this function. When you press the button assigned to this function, the viewfinder and LCD panel will display an electronic level using the exposure level indicator (p.61). Pressing < 0> will display the menu on the LCD monitor. 327 Under the My Menu tab, you can register up to six menu options and Custom Functions whose settings you change frequently. 1Select [My Menu settings]. Under the [ 9] tab, select [ My Menu settings ], then press < 0>. 2Select [Register to My Menu]. Select [Register to My Menu ], then press < 0>. 3Register the desired items. Select the item, then press < 0>. On the confirmation dialog, select [OK ] and press < 0> to register the item. You can register up to six items. To return to the screen in step 2, press the < M> button. Sort You can change the order of the registered items in My Menu. Select [Sort] and select the item whose or der you want to change. Then press < 0>. With [ z] displayed, press the < V> key to change the order, then press < 0>. Delete item/items and Delete all items You can delete any of the registered items. [ Delete item/items] deletes one item at a time, and [Delete all items ] deletes all registered items. 328 You can register current camera settings, such as the shooting mode, menu functions, and Custom Function settings, as Custom shooting modes under the Mode Dial’s and < x> positions. 1Select [Custom shooting mode (C1, C2)]. Under the [ 54] tab, select [ Custom shooting mode (C1, C2) ], then press < 0 >. 2Select [Register settings]. Select [Register settings ], then press < 0>. 3Register the Custom shooting mode. Select the Custom shooting mode to be registered, then press < 0>. On the confirmation dialog, select [OK ] and press . XThe current camera setti ngs (p.329, 330) will be registered under th e Mode Dial’s C* position. If you change any setting while you shoot in the or mode, the Custom shooting mode can be autom atically updated to reflect the changed setting(s). To enable this automatic update, in step 2, set [Auto update set.] to [ Enable]. The settings that can be automatically updated are listed on pages 329 and 330. In step 2, if you select [ Clear settings], the respective Mode Dial position will revert to the default setting effective before you registered the camera settings.
