341 3 Checking the Battery Information You can check the remaining capaci ty of any battery pack (even when not installed) and also when it was last used. Look for the serial number. Refer to the battery’s serial number label and look for the battery’s serial number on the battery history screen. X You can check the respective battery pack’s remaining capacity and the date when it was last used. 1Select [Delete info.]. Follow step 2 on page 339 to select [ Delete info.], then press < 0 >. 2Select the battery pack information to be deleted. Select the battery pack information to be deleted, then press . X will appear. To delete information for another battery pack, repeat this procedure. 3Press the < L> button. X The confirmation dialog will appear. 4Select [OK]. Select [OK ], then press < 0>. X The battery pack information will be deleted, and the screen in step 1 will reappear. 342 With the AC Adapter Kit ACK-E6 (sold separately), you can connect the camera to a household power outle t and not worry about the remaining battery level. 1Connect the DC Coupler’s plug. Connect the DC Coupl er’s plug to the AC Adapter’s socket. 2Connect the power cord. Connect the power cord as shown in the illustration. After using the camera, unplug the power plug from the power outlet. 3Place the cord in the groove. Insert the DC Coupler’s cord carefully without damaging the cord. 4Insert the DC Coupler. Open the battery compartment cover and open the DC Coupler cord hole cover. Insert the DC Coupler securely until it locks and put the cord through the hole. Close the cover. Using a Household Power Outlet DC Coupler cord hole Do not connect or disconnect the power cord or DC Coupler while the camera’s power switch is set to < 1>. COPY
343 The date/time (backup) battery maintains the camera’s date and time. Its service life is approx. 5 years. If the date/time is reset when camera\ is turned on, follow the procedure below to replace the backup battery with a new CR1616 lithium battery. The date/time/zone setting will also be reset, so be sure to set the correct date/time/zone (p.36). 1Set the power switch to < 2>. 2Unscrew the battery holder screw. Use a small Phillips screwdriver. Be careful not to lose the screw. 3Take off the battery holder. Push out the battery as shown by arrow 2. 4Replace the battery in the battery holder. Make sure the new battery is in the proper + – orientation. 5Tighten the battery holder’s screw. Replacing the Date/Time Battery For the date/time battery, be sure to use a CR1616 lithium battery. 344 With a commercially-available Eye-Fi card already set up, you can automatically transfer captured images to a personal computer or upload them to an online service via a wireless LAN. The image transfer is a function of th e Eye-Fi card. For instructions on how to set up and use the Eye-Fi card or to troubleshoot any image transfer problems, refer to the Eye- Fi card’s instruction manual or contact the card’s manufacturer. The camera is not guaranteed to support Eye-Fi card functions (including wireless tr ansfer). In case of an issue with an Eye-Fi card, please check with the card manufacturer. Also note that approval is requ ired to use Eye-Fi cards in many countries or regions. Wit hout approval, use of the card is not permitted. If it is unclear whether the card has been approved for use in your area, please check with the card manufacturer. 1Insert an Eye-Fi card. (p.31) 2Select [Eye-Fi settings]. Under the [ 51] tab, select [ Eye-Fi settings ], then press < 0>. This menu is displa yed only when an Eye-Fi card is inserted into the camera. 3Enable Eye-Fi transmission. Press < 0>, set [ Eye-Fi trans.] to [Enable ], then press < 0>. If you set [ Disable], automatic transmission will not occur even with the Eye-Fi card inserted (Transmission status icon I). 4Display the connection information. 345 Using Eye-Fi Cards 5Check the [Access point SSID:]. Check that an access point is displayed for [ Access point SSID: ]. You can also check the Eye-Fi card’s MAC address and firmware version. Press the < M> button to exit the menu. 6Take the picture. X The picture is transferred and the icon switches from gray (Not connected) to one of the icons below. For transferred images, O is displayed in the shooting information display (p.246). H (Gray) Not connected : No connection with access point. H (Blinking) Connecting : Connection with access point. Transmission status icon Cautions for Using Eye-Fi Cards If “ ” is displayed, an error oc curred while retrieving the card information. Turn the camera’s power switch off and on again. Even if [Eye-Fi trans. ] is set to [Disable], it may still transmit a signal. In hospitals, airports, and other places where wireless transmissions are prohibited, remove the Eye-Fi card from the camera. If the image transfer does not function, chec k the Eye-Fi card and personal computer settings. For deta ils, refer to the card’s instruction manual. Depending on the wireless LAN’s connection conditions, the image transfer may take longer or it may be interrupted. Because of the transmis sion function, the Eye-Fi card may become hot. The battery power will be consumed faster. During the image transfer, auto power off will not take effect. COPY
