5 - 2 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE HL7050_US_UG_FM5.5 Toner cartridge A new toner cartridge contains enough toner to print up to 12,000 A4 or Letter-size single-sided pages at about 5% coverage. TONER LOW Message (Appears at intervals) If the LCD shows TONER LOW, the toner cartridge has nearly run out of toner. Hold the cartridge level with both hands and gently rock it from side to side several times to spread the toner evenly inside the cartridge. Figure 5-5 4Pull off the yellow plastic protective cover. If the LCD shows CHANGE DRUM SOON, it means the drum unit is near the end of its life. We recommend that you replace the drum unit with a new one before there is a noticeable deterioration in the print quality.
