tCheck that youhre connected to the mobile network. If  appears in the upper-right corner of the 
home screen, then the mobile network is on and connected.
tCheck that your wireless service plan is set up to use Mobile Hotspot mode. If not, you need to 
change your service plan before Mobile Hotspot mode can work on your 
BlackBerry device.
tYour wireless service provider might not allow the use of Mobile Hotspot mode while roaming. For 
more information, check your service plan or contact your wireless service provider.
tIf your wireless service plan supports the use of Mobile Hotspot mode while roaming, on the Settings

anywhere that your 
BlackBerry device can connect to the mobile network. You can connect the device 
to your 
BlackBerry device using a USB cable or, if both devices are Bluetooth enabled, you can use 
Bluetooth technology instead.

Additional charges might apply for using Internet tethering. On some networks you canht use some 
services on your

You can tether your BlackBerry device using either a USB cable or a Bluetooth connection.
1.On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.

3.If youhve never used Internet tethering before, complete the instructions on the screen. Read the 
setup screens carefully as they provide important information about the Internet tethering feature.

to. However, if you must change the resolution, on the home screen, swipe down from the top of the

that you want to use.
Monitor

wireless
data
usage
You can check how much data you have used over your mobile network or your Wi-Fi network. You can 
also monitor which apps and services are using the most data, and you can close some apps to help 
reduce your data usage or improve the device performance.

Typing

Learn how to use accented and uppercase letters, symbols, and numbers on your keyboard.
Type
an
accented
character
The list of available accents depends on the active input language. If you set multiple input languages, 
the accents for the languages that can be predicted together appear for a letter. For example, when 
English, French, and German are set, because their alphabets are similar, you get accent options for all 
three languages.
1.On the BlackBerry Keyboard, touch and hold the letter that you want to add the accent to.
2.When accented characters appear above the letter, slide your finger onto the accented character that 
you want to type.
3.Lift your finger.
Tip:
To type an uppercase accented character, tap  first. Or, when your finger is on the accented 
character that you want to type, if you pause before you lift your finger the accented character changes 
to uppercase.

In addition, you can change your settings so that your device automatically capitalizes new sentences or 
so that pressing 
 twice inserts a period.

selection expands from a word to a sentence, and from a sentence to a paragraph the longer you

To dismiss the selection, tap anywhere on the screen.

select a suggested word by tapping it.

Edit
your
personal
dictionary
When you use spell check you can add words that are marked as incorrect to a custom dictionary on

language
You must set up more keyboard languages before you can switch between languages. If you set up 
multiple languages that use the same keyboard layout (Such as QWERTY, AZERTY, or QUERTZ), your 
BlackBerry device automatically detects words in each language.
1.At the beginning of a new line of text, tap .
2.Tap the language you want to type in on your BlackBerry Keyboard.
If you set up two languages that use different keyboard layouts, the language and default keyboard 
layout automatically switches to the other layout. If you set up three languages that use different 
keyboard layouts, your device automatically cycles to the next language in the list that has a different 
default keyboard layout. In both cases, your device recognizes words from all the keyboard languages 
you set up.
Keyboard
input
methods
An input method enables you to type words or characters that are not available using the characters on 
your keyboard layout. In some cases, input methods give you a phonetic approximation of a word based 
on the keyboard layout you are using. Your device can then suggest a character or diacritic based on 
the sound you choose.
In other cases, input methods provide you with gestures and key combinations for languages. Some 
keyboard input methods are common to all supported languages, such as word prediction or selecting 
accented characters by pressing and holding keys.
Typing
in
other
languages
You can set your BlackBerry device to recognize three different input languages when you type. As you 
type, your device makes predictions based on each of the language families. For example, if you use a 
Latin-based display language, predictions appear for any of the configured Latin-based languages. 
Similarly, if your display language is Korean, it will not display Arabic or Latin-based suggestions. When 
you set more than one typing language, you may need to consider the following:
tSome languages, such as Thai and Arabic, have more characters in the alphabet than there are keys 
on the keyboard. You need to use a keystroke combination to access the second or third character
