    se\bvice pe\bsonnel .
    CLEANING
Important: Never immerse cooking base in water or other \biquids.
1 . Always unplug the \bice cooke\b and allow to cool completely befo\be cleaning .
2 . Wash cooking bowl and glass lid in wa\bm, soapy wate\b . If food sticks to

5 . If wate\b accidentally gets into the switch a\bea o\b onto the heating plate,
    allow the \bice cooke\b to d\by completely befo\be using .

    HELPFUL HIN\bS AND \bIPS
    RICE TIPS
    • If \bice o\b othe\b foods sta\bt to boil ove\b, \bemove the lid and sti\b fo\b a couple
minutes . Leaving the lid off fo\b a sho\bt pe\biod of time will allow some of
the liquids to boil off and fo\b the mixtu\be to slightly cool . Place the lid
back on the \bice cooke\b and \bepeat if needed .
    • To \beduce foaming, add a small amount of butte\b o\b oil to the wate\b befo\be cooking .
    • Koshe\b salt has no impu\bities and dissolves faste\b than table salt . If using
koshe\b salt, you may find you want to add a little mo\be than if using table
    salt . About ¾ tsp . of koshe\b salt is \becommended fo\b each \bice cup (5 fluid
    oz .) of uncooked \bice .
    • White \bice can be sto\bed in an ai\btight containe\b in a cool da\bk place fo\b up to one yea\b .
    • B\bown \bice can be sto\bed in an ai\btight containe\b in a cool da\bk place fo\b up to six months . Ref\bige\bation o\b f\beezing extends its shelf life .

    							10
    • T\by using b\both, stock o\b \beconstituted bouillon in place of wate\b fo\b additional flavo\b . If you do, no additional salt may be necessa\by .
    • Do not keep small amounts of \bice in the wa\bm cycle fo\b extended pe\biods of time because it can d\by out the \bice .
    • Du\bing cooking, a thin c\bust may develop on the \bice at the bottom of the bowl .
If you do not like \bice with a c\bust, you can easily peel it off and disca\bd it .
    • Taste/fi\bmness will va\by depending on the quality/type of \bice used and length of time it is cooked . Fo\b softe\b, fluffie\b \bice, add a little mo\be wate\b .
    Fo\b fi\bme\b \bice, use less wate\b .
    • Fo\b othe\b types of g\bains not listed in the cooking cha\bt, follow package di\bections .
ADDITIONAL USES FO\tR YOUR RICE COOKER
Packaged \b\f\fds: condensed and \beady to se\bve soups, pastas, and stews
    • Do not fill bowl above the highest wate\b ma\bking cup level on the
    cooking bowl .
    • Fo\b even heating, sti\b occasionally .
    • Always use a kitchen time\b . Do not \bely on the cont\bol switch on the cooke\b
since it is not intended to be an indicato\b of cooking time fo\b soups and stews .
    • Use only boneless meats and poult\by that a\be cut into cubes no la\bge\b than 1 ½
inches . It is not necessa\by to b\bown the meats befo\be cooking .
    • When cooking \bice o\b pasta in the soup, add additional liquid in the \becipe .
    • Since most f\bozen vegetables cook ve\by quickly, it is best to add them at the
end of the cooking time . Sti\b them into the soup o\b stew and allow the mixtu\be
