Requirements for the SAT
This section defines requirements for the System Administration Terminal (SAT). Any data
terminal with an RS-232C interface that meets the requirements below may be used as the
SAT.
Display
System 25 administration requires the following display characteristics:
n     Minimum display size of 16 lines by 80 columns
n     Ability to display upper case ASCII alphabetic characters, ASCII numeric, and some other
ASCII symbols (see “Keyboard” below)

SAT Port Speed Setting
The data transfer rate for terminals or personal computers is set after a carriage return
character is entered from the device keyboard. Two data transfer rates are supported—1200
baud and 300 baud. The default rate is 1200 baud.
The following requirements apply to both the SMDR and administration ports:
n     Baud rate defaults to 1200 (can be set to 300)
n     No parity
n     One start bit, one stop bit, seven data bits

Administering the T1 Carrier Interface (DS1)/HI D CKT
This section describes how to administer the System 25 optional DS1 interface, which provides
the means for connecting to a T1 carrier system.
The T1 carrier system for System 25 is a time division multiplexed, digital transmission system
for voice transmission. A DS1 interface installed on the System 25 can replace up to 24 off-

TN746 Analog Line Circuit Pack Administration
This section describes the proper procedures for administering the DEFINITY TN746 circuit pack
within the System 25 R3V3 PBX.
The TN746 is a 16 port analog line circuit pack that has the functionality of both a ZTN78 (8 port
Tip/Ring line) circuit as well as a DEFINITY TN742 (8 port analog line) circuit pack. It is only
