Prerequisites for Installation August 1999
Firewall Instructions:
The following firewall ports on the router in the network must be open for inbound as well as 
outbound connections, if a firewall exists:

To turn unit on for the first time, power on the unit from the rear. Machine will boot and show 
status messages.
Shutdown Procedure
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL
 then wait until all processes have closed completely before 
powering down.
OR
2. Type at the command line prompt shutdown -h now
, then press ENTER

5 System Configuration
PRIOR TO CONFIGURING THE Discovery IP 
To establish network connection for each Discovery IP machine, you must designate:
†Full hostname of the Discovery IP, including domain name
†IP address of the Discovery IP
†Subnet mask of the Discovery IP
†IP address of the default router/gateway for the Discovery IP
†Timezone of the Discovery IP
To configure the Discovery IP, you must designate the:

2. Type dvg-passed [ENTER]
