    Power on/off
    Turning on the power
    1.	Make sure that the power cord is firmly and cor-
    rectly	connected	to	the	projector	and	the	outlet.
    2.	Remove	the	lens	cover,	and	set	the	power	swtch	to	
    the	ON	poston.		
    The	power	ndcator	wll	lght	up	n	steady	orange.	 Then	
    wat	several	seconds	because	the	buttons	may	not	func
    -
    ton	for	these	several	seconds.	
    (1) When AUTO ON in OPTION menu is set to TURN ON	:The	lamp	wll	only	be	automatcally	turned	on	when	the	
    Power	swtch	s	turned	on	after	the	power	was	turned	off	by	
    Power	swtch	last	tme.	 Afterwards	the	POWER	ndcator	
    wll	begn	blnkng	n	green.	When	the	power	s	completely	
    on,	the	ndcator	wll	stop	blnkng	and	lght	n	green.
    (2) When AUTO ON in the OPTION menu is set to TURN OFF : 
    Please	see	step	3.
    3.	Press	the	STANDBY/ON	button	on	the	projector	or	the	re-
    mote	control.	
    To	dsplay	the	pcture,	select	an	nput	sgnal	accordng	to	the	secton	
    "Selecting an input signal".
    Turning off  the power
    1.	Press	the	STANDBY/ON	button	on	the	projector	or	the	remote	control.The message "Power off?" will appear on the screen for about 5 
    seconds.
    2.	Press	the	STANDBY/ON	button	on	the	projector	or	the	remote	
    control	agan	whle	the	message	appears.	
    The	projector	lamp	wll	go	off,	and	the	POWER	ndcator	wll	begn	
    blnkng	n	orange.	
    Then	the	POWER	ndcator	wll	stop	blnkng	and	lght	n	steady	
    orange	when	the	lamp	coolng	s	complete.
    3.	Make	sure	that	the	power	ndcator	lghts	n	steady	orange,	and	set	the	power	
    swtch	to	the	OFF	poston.	 The	POWER	ndcator	wll	go	off.	 Attach	the	lens	cover.
    Do	not	turn	the	projector	on	for	10	mnutes	or	more	after	turnng	t	off.	 Turnng	the	projector	
    on	agan	too	soon	could	shorten	the	lfetme	of	some	consumable	parts	of	the	projector.

    Adjusting the volume
    1.	Press	the	VOLUME	button	on	the	remote	control.	
    A	d alog 	w ll	appear 	on	 the	screen 	to	 ad 	you	n 	adjust ng	the 	volume.
    2.	Use the cursor buttons ▲/▼ to adjust the volume.
    To	close	the	dalog	and	complete	the	operaton,	press	the	
    VOLUME	button	agan.	Even	f	you	do	not	do	anythng,	the	
    dalog	wll	automatcally	dsappear	after	a	few	seconds.
    ● When no audio port is selected for current picture input port, the volume adjust-
    ment	s	dsable.	Please	see	the	 AUDIO	tem	of	AUDIO	menu.
    Temporarily muting the sound
    1.	Press	the	MUTE	button	on	the	remote	control.		
    A	dalog	 wll	appear	 on	the	 screen	ndcat ng	that 	you	 have	 muted	 the	sound.	
    To	restore	the	sound,	press	the	MUTE	or	VOLUME	button.	
    Even	f	you	do	not	do	anythng,	the	dalog	wll	automatcally	
    dsappear	after	a	few	seconds.
    ● As long as no audio input is selected for current picture input port, the sound is 
    always	muted.	Please	see	the	 AUDIO	tem	of	AUDIO	menu.
    Selecting an input signal
    1.	Press	the	INPUT 	button	on	the	projector.		
    Each	tme	you	press	the	button,	the	projector	swtches	ts	
    nput	port	as	below.

    1.	Press	the	RGB	button	on	the	remote	control	to	select	an

    ● If the RGB button is pushed (when switching from VIDEO to RGB signals)  when	 TURN	ON	s	selected	for	the	 AUTO	SEARCH	tem	n	the	OPTION	menu	
    the projector will check the RGB 1 port first. If no input is detected at the port, 
    the	projector	wll	check	other	port	n	above	order.

    Searching an input signal
    1.	Press	the	SEARCH	button	on	the	remote	control.
    The	projector	wll	start	to	check	ts	nput	ports	n	order	to	
    find any input signals.
    When	an	nput	s	found,	the	projector	wll	stop	searchng	and	dsplay	the	mage.	
    If	no	sgnal	s	found,	the	projector	wll	return	to	the	state	selected	before	the	
    operaton.

    1.	Press	the	 ASPECT	button	on	the	remote	control.

    Adjusting the zoom and focus
    1.	Use	the	zoom	rng	to	adjust	the	screen	sze.		
    2.	Use	the	focus	rng	to	focus	the	pcture.

    1.	Use	the	vertcal	lens	shft	dal	to	shft	
    the	pcture	upward	or	downward.	
    	
    2.	Use	the	horzontal	lens	shft	dal	to	
    shft	the	pcture	left	or	rght.
    Using the automatic adjustment feature
    1.	Press	the	 AUTO	button	on	the	remote	control.		
    	For an RGB signal	
    The	vertcal	poston,	the	horzontal	poston,	the	horzontal	
    phase	and	the	horzontal	sze	wll	be	automatcally	adjusted.
    	
    And	the	aspect	rato	wll	be	automatcally	set	to	default.	Make	sure	that	the	
    applcaton	wndow	s	set	to	ts	maxmum	sze	pror	to	attemptng	to	use	ths	
    feature.	 A	dark	pcture	may	stll	be	ncorrectly	adjusted.	Use	a	brght	pcture	
    when	adjustng.
    	For an M1-D signal	
    The	aspect	rato	wll	be	automatcally	set	to	default.
    	For a video signal or s-video signal	
    The	vdeo	format
      best	suted	for	the	respectve	nput	sgnal	wll	be	selected	
    automatcally.
    	
    Ths	functon	s	avalable	only	when	the	 AUTO	s	selected	to	the	VIDEO	
    FORMAT 	tem 	n 	INPUT 	menu. 	For 	a 	component 	v deo 	s gnal, 	the 	s gnal 	type	
    is identified automatically independently of this function. 
    	For a video signal, s-video signal or component video signal	
    The 	vert cal 	pos t on, 	hor zontal 	pos t on 	and 	aspect 	rat o 	w ll 	be 	automat cally	
    set	to	default.
    	For a component video signal	
    The	horzontal	phase	wll	be	automatcally	set	to	default.
    ● The automatic adjustment operation requires about 10 seconds. Also please  note	that	t	may	not	functon	correctly	wth	some	nput.

    Adjusting the position

    The	“POSITION”	ndcaton	wll	appear	on	the	screen.
    2.	Use the cursor buttons ▲/▼/◄/► to adjust the picture posi-
    ton.
    When	you	want	to	reset	the	operaton,	press	the	RESET 	button	on	the	remote	
    control	durng	the	operaton.
    To	complete	ths	operaton,	press	the	POSITION	button	agan.	Even	f	you	do	
    not	do	anythng,	the	dalog	wll	automatcally	dsappear	after	a	few	seconds.
    ● When this function is performed on a video signal, s-video signal or  component video 
    signal, some image such as an extra-line may appear at outside of the pictur e.
    ● When this function is performed on a video signal, s-video signal, or component video signal 
    of	525	(480)	or	625	(576),	the	range	of	ths	adjustment	depends	on	the	OVER	SCAN	n	IM

    AGE	menu	settng.	It	s	not	possble	to	adjust	when	the	OVER	SCAN	s	set	to	10.

    Correcting the keystone distortions
    1.	Press	the	KEYSTONE	button	on	the	
    remote	control.	 A	dalog	wll	appear	on	the	
    screen 	to 	a d 	you 	n 	correct ng 	the 	d stort on.
    2.	Use 	the 	cursor 	buttons 	▲/▼	to 	select 	AUTO 	or	
    MANUAL 	operaton,	and	press	the	button	
    ►	to	perform	the	followng.		
    1)		AUTO	executes	automatc	vertcal	keystone	correcton.	
    2)		Manual	dsplays	a	dalog	for	keystone	correcton.	
    	
    Use the cursor buttons ◄/► to select the direction to correct 
    (	or	)	then	use	the	buttons ▲/▼ for adjustment.
    To	close	the	dalog	and	complete	ths	operaton,	press	the	
    KEYSTONE	button	agan.	Even	f	you	don’t	do	anythng,	
    the	dalog	wll	automatcally	dsappear	after	a	few	seconds.
    ● The adjustable range of this function will vary among inputs. For some input,  ths	functon	may	not	work	well.
    ● When V:INVERT or H&V:INVERT is selected to the MIRROR item in the SET-
    UP 	menu,	f	the	projector	screen	s	nclned	or	angled	downward,	ths	functon	
    may	not	work	correctly.
    ● When the zoom adjustment is set to the TELE (telephoto focus), this function  may	be	excessve.	 Ths	functon	should	be	used	when	the	zoom	adjustment	s	
    set to the full WIDE (wide-angle focus) whenever possible.
    ● When	the	projector	s	placed	on	the	level	(about	±3°),	ths	functon	may	not	work.
    ● When	the	projector	s	nclned	to	near	±30	degree	or	over,	ths	functon	may	not	
    work	well.
    ● When	the	vertcal	lens	shft	s	not	set	fully	upward	(not	set	fully	 downward	for	the	
    optional lens type FL-601 only), this function may not work well.
    ● When	the	horzontal	lens	shft	s	not	set	to	the	center,	ths	functon	may	not	work	well.
    ● Ths	functon	wll	be	unavalable	when	 Transton	Detector	s	on.

    Using the magnify feature
    1.	Press	the	ON	button	of	MAGNIFY	on	the	remote	control.			
    The	“MAGNIFY”	ndcaton	wll	appear	on	the	screen	(al

    though	the	ndcaton	wll	dsappear	n	several	seconds	wth	no	
    operaton),	and	the	projector	wll	go	nto	the	MAGNIFY 	mode.
    2.	Use the cursor buttons ▲/▼ to adjust the zoom level. 
    To	move	the	zoom	area,	press	the	POSITION	button	n	the	MAGNIFY 	mode,	
    then use the cursor buttons ▲/▼/◄/► to move the area. And to finalize the 
    zoom	area,	press	the	POSITION	button	agan.
    To	ext	from	the	MAGNIFY	mode	and	restore	the	screen	to	normal,	press	the	
    OFF	button	of	MAGNIFY 	on	the	remote	control.	
    ● The projector automatically exits from the MAGNIFY mode when the input sig-
    nal	s	changed,	or	when	the	dsplay	condton	s	changed.	
    ● Although in the MAGNIFY mode, the keystone distortion condition may vary, it  wll	be	restored	when	the	projector	exts	from	the	MAGNIFY 	mode.

    Freezing the screen
    1.	Press	the	FREEZE	button	on	the	remote	control.		
    The	“FREEZE”	ndcaton	wll	appear	on	the	screen	(although	
    the	ndcat on	wll	 not	appear 	when	 the	TURN	 ON	s	selected	 to	
    the	MESSAGE	tem	of	SCREEN	menu),	and	the	projector	wll	
    go	nto	the	FREEZE	mode.
    To	 ext 	the	 FREEZE	 mode	and	restore	 the	screen	 to	normal, 	press 	the	 FREEZE	
    button	agan.	
    ● The projector automatically exits from the FREEZE mode when the input signal  changes,	or	when	one	of	the	projector’s	buttons	or	the	remote	control	buttons	
    of	STANDBY/ON,	SEARCH,	RGB,	VIDEO,	BLANK,	 AUTO,	ASPECT,	VOL
    -
    UME,	MUTE,	KEYSTONE,	POSITION,	MENU,	MAGNIFY 	and	MY	BUTTON	s	
    pressed.
    ● If the projector continues projecting a still image for a long time, the LCD panel 
    mght	possbly	be	burned	n.	Do	not	leave	the	projector	n	the	FREEZE	mode	
    for	too	long.

    Temporarily blanking the screen
    1.	Press	the	BLANK	button	on	the	remote	control.		
    The	blank	screen	wll	be	dsplayed	nstead	of	the	screen	
    of	nput	sgnal.	Please	refer	to	the	BLANK	tem	n	SCREEN	
    menu.
    To	ext	from	the	blank	screen	and	return	to	the	nput	sgnal	screen,	press	the		
    BLANK	button	agan.	
    ● The projector automatically returns to the input signal screen when one of the  projector’s	buttons	or	the	remote	control	buttons	s	pressed	or	one	of	the	com

    mands	(except	get	commands)	s	transmtted	to	the	control	port.

    Operating
    Using the menu function
    Ths	projector	has	the	followng	menus:	PICTURE,	IMAGE,	INPUT,	SETUP,	AUDIO,	
    SCREEN,	OPTION,	NETWORK,	and	EASY 	MENU.	EASY	MENU	conssts	of	functons	
    often used, and the other menus are classified into each purpose. Each of these menus is 
    operated	usng	the	same	methods.	 The	basc	operatons	of	these	menus	are	as	follows.
    1.	Press	the	MENU	button	on	the	remote	control	or	one	of	
    the	cursor	buttons	on	the	projector.			
    The	 Advanced	MENU,	or	EASY 	MENU	that	has	prorty	just	
    after	powered	on,	wll	appear.	
    In the EASY MENU
    2.	If	you	want	to	change	t	to	the	 Advanced	MENU,	select	the	"Go to Advanced Menu..."
    3.	Use the cursor buttons ▲/▼ to select an item to operate.
    4.	Use the cursor buttons◄/► to operate the item.
    In the Advanced MENU
    2.	Use the cursor buttons ▲/▼ to select a menu.	
    If	you	want	to	change	t	to	the	EASY 	MENU,	select	the	
    EASY 	MENU.
    	Then press the cursor button ► on the projector or remote 
    control,	or	the	ENTER	button	on	the	remote	control	to	select	
    an	tem.	 The	dsplay	of	the	selected	menu	wll	be	actve.
    3.	Use the cursor buttons ▲/▼ to select an item to operate.	Then	press	the	cursor	button	►	on	the	projector	or	remote	control,	or	the	ENTER	button	
    on	the	remote	control	to	progress.	 The	operaton	menu	of	the	selected	tem 	wll	appear.
    4.	Use the cursor buttons▲/▼ to operate the item.
    ● When	you	want	to	reset	the	operaton,	press	the	RESET 	button	on	the	remote	control	
    durng	the	operaton.	Note	that	tems	whose	functons	are	performed	smultaneously	
    wth	operaton	(ex.	LANGUAGE,	H	PHASE,	VOLUME	etc.)	cannot	be	reset.
    	
    ● In	the	 Advanced	MENU,	when	you	want	to	return	to	the	prevous	dsplay,	press	the	cur-
    sor	button	◄	on	the	projector	or	remote	control,	or	the	ESC	button	on	the	remote	con-trol.
    5.	Press	the	MENU	button	on	the	remote	control	agan	to	close	the	menu	and	
    complete	ths	operaton.	Even	f	you	do	not	do	anythng,	the	dalog	wll	auto-
    matcally	dsappear	after	about	10	seconds.
    ● Some functions cannot be performed when a certain input port is selected, or  when	a	certan	nput	sgnal	s	dsplayed.

    From the EASY MENU, items shown in the table below can 
    be performed. 
    Select an item using the ▲/▼ cursor buttons on the 
    projector or remote control. Then perform it according to the
